Nostalgia
Nile cooked them a hearty meal for the first time in a while. They have only been eating fruit these past few days, and the freshly cooked meal made them nostalgic about their past.
"Why do you look so sad? Does the food taste bad?" Nile said as he looked at Jeric's downhearted expression.
Jeric was the youngest of the bunch of kids that he took care of years ago. Back then he was only a toddler, now however, he was already around six years old. Fortunately, this kid still remembers him and his first word , 'Nini' was still not forgotten.
"No, Nini, it's delicious. It's just that I wish brother Istan could get a taste of this too," he said as tears formed in the corner of his eyes.
Nile smiled seeing his reason. He patted his shoulder and said, "That's thoughtful of you. But don't worry, I'll fetch him soon enough." He has a determined expression on his face, and with his current strength he has no worries at all.
