Rank test

Yukiko approached the boys.

Kadori glanced at her in confusion and surprise after seeing that she was also a student.

Based on her knowledge, Kadori concluded that Yukiko was a high-ranked Terminator who traveled through planets for dangerous hunting.

But here she was, in the same section as the new students.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Yukiko couldn't stand Kadori's strange gazes.

"I thought you were already one of the Terminators," Kadori uttered.

"Sadly no. Just my brother, Santino, is a real Terminator," Yukiko replied. "He has been trying to keep me away from the dangers of this world ever since our parents died. But it has always been my dream to travel through planets and reclaim our home once more."

Kadori understood Yukiko since they were both facing the same thing.

Just like Santino, Uncle Duncan had been trying to keep Kadori away from the war front.

Even though it was Kadori's dream to put an end to these infected bastards and reclaim their home, Uncle Duncan never agreed to that.

Instead, he tried to turn Kadori into a farmer.

Seeing there was no other way, Kadori fled from home and ended up on a foreign planet.

A planet where he was free to do what he wants.

"I totally understand you, trust me," Kadori replied.

"Hey, look, I hate to spoil this 'we have the same thing in common' crap, but I don't think it's possible to share a room with a female," Geralt chimed in.

"Why not? They didn't mention anything about girls not sharing a room with a guy," Yukiko replied.

Kadori had no objections towards Yukiko staying with them.

In fact, he needed her by his side since she was more knowledgeable about this whole beast stuff and other things concerning the system.

Checking the system earlier to confirm if the punishments were real, Kadori noticed something different.

[ENERGY POINTS: 0]

Kadori was sure that stuff wasn't there before, and he never got the chance to try and figure out the meaning since Yukiko called him suddenly for the test.

If the Energy points weren't there before, then it might have been because of the level ups that made him unlock it.

But what does it mean?

'Speaking of which, my new Necromancing skill needs Energy points to work.'

Out of all the skills Kadori unlocked so far, he has never seen one that required Energy points.

Kadori had no idea what the Energy points meant or how he was going to acquire them.

He also had no idea what the Necromancing skill was, so he concluded that the person to answer his question was Yukiko.

After the students were done choosing their roommates, they were led to their separate dorm rooms.

Entering the room, Kadori swept his gaze through it.The room was small and square-shaped.

It only had enough space for three beds and a small workbench.

Since no one brought any luggage to unpack, they took their time to examine the room.

"Soon we'll be called in for our test to see our Ranks," Yukiko spoke up, lacing up her boot.

"Why test us when they already know our Ranks?" Geralt asked with a confused expression.

"It's like a test to check your full power," Yukiko began to explain. "Someone could easily rank up their Chaos energy with the help of someone else. All they have to do is make the last hit and take all the credit."

"People like that are usually weak but have a high rank. Also, the academy would want to differentiate between the weak and strong so they'll know who to focus their training on."

Kadori screamed internally after hearing Yukiko's explanation. Since his stats were halved, he was nothing but a regular Bronze 2.

If he should take the test, then he would definitely fail and get placed in the lower ranks section.

'Could this get any worse?!'

A few minutes after Yukiko was done explaining, a voice was heard over the speaker, informing the students to gather around where they departed from.

Geralt and Yukiko quickly began to make their way outside the room while Kadori stayed behind.

"Are you not coming?" Geralt asked.

"I will join you shortly," Kadori replied. After watching them leave, Kadori quickly got down and began to do push-ups.

"28!"

"29!"

"30!"

[TIRING!]

[30 PUSH-UPS IN A DAY: COMPLETED 30/30]

[REWARD: ERROR!]

Kadori wasn't ready to face another set of punishments for the failure of quests.

He was still struggling with the punishments he got already; adding another one to it would just be his death.

Upon completing the three quests, Kadori didn't receive a single stat point.

All it said was [Error].

'Stupid system. So you expect me to do all that just for nothing?!' Kadori lamented, dashing out of his room and running towards the area where everyone gathered.

[RUN 30KM: COMPLETED 30/30]

After running for a few minutes, Kadori finally arrived there.

The place was already crowded with students and some were already taking the test.

At the center of the place, four raised platforms were there.

Each platform contained mechanical robots that were the size of humans.

Since there were four platforms, meaning four different students could take their tests at the same time.

The test was easy.

Firstly, the students were asked to punch the mechanical robots with all their strength.

Once they did, the robot would record the strength accurately.

And the second step was to use their Chaos technique against it to record how powerful the technique was.

Yukiko mounted the platform and stood opposite the mechanical robot. Kadori knew Yukiko was a Platinum 3 rank, but wanted to see just what her chaos technique was.

Standing opposite the robot, Yukiko clenched her fist, pulled her arm backwards, and swung it out with all her might.

BAM!

The fist connected neatly with the robot's chest area and a number began to read on the screen located on the robot's head.

"70"

The number finally stopped at 70.

After recording the number, Yukiko took several steps backwards to perform her Chaos technique.

Raising up her two hands, sharp energy spikes began to form right above her.

'Forming spikes from the air, eh?' Kadori mused as he watched Yukiko create three long sharp spikes out of thin air.

After fully forming the spikes, she chucked them towards the mechanical doll.

The spikes traveled through the air at incredible speed, piercing the doll's chest and the number began to read once more.

After the number read and read, it finally stopped at "65".

Yukiko left the raised platform and Kadori was called in to take his own test.

'Here we go.'
