Chapter 8 Chapter 5

'I'm dreaming, right?' Samara thought as she slipped in and out of consciousness. She did not just meet her celebrity crush. and he called her his fiancee her brain was smoking with the intensity the gears in it were turning.

"If you are up, let's eat, shall we?"

Her eyes snapped open as she watched the devilishly handsome man close his magazine. He had his sunglasses on again and picked up the menu.

"Take a picture darling, it will last longer." The sentence was meant to be teasing but it was more like.' You are a disgrace'

Samara could not bring herself to say anything. She tried, she tried but it was like her voice had left her. She squeaked as she nodded.

Neil waved the waiter over and placed an order for both of them. She silently thanked him because she did not know the dishes served here. Each dish had a price that was twice her savings for the year. The silence was killing her but on the other hand, Neil looked comfortable.

"Who...Who are you?"

"I think you already know that Miss Winters."

Samara felt stupid. of course she knew him. everyone did. He was Neil freaking Thompson. His family ruled the business world. Like literally ruled the business world. He controlled the business sector of the whole of California, Chicago, Florida, and other parts of the seven continents.

"I...i..i.i.ii.i.I .i.."

"Have you suddenly lost the ability to talk? Am I marrying a disgrace?"

Samara blushed and glanced at her fingers, finding her nails more interesting. Soon their food arrived and Samara was surprised. Her plate was practically empty. Her eyebrows scrunched as she examined the measly dish.

'What the fuck is this?' she thought.

'Is that onion' she played with the weird ball that looked so much like an onion.

"Parsley... and what is this?" she looked at the weird-looking ketchup substance and dipped her fork in it. She hesitantly brought the weird substance to her tongue and gagged involuntarily at the taste.

Neil subtly watched the woman. She lacked table manners and she looked disinterested in her food. Deciding he had had enough, he dropped his cutleries and wiped the corners of his mouth with a clean napkin.

"Why are you working for my grandfather?"

"Look, I think you have the wrong lady. Sir Charles is my client and he was a banker. I am very sorry but...."

"That wasn't the answer to my question."

He couldn't be an ignorant asshole, could he? Samara thought. He was always so sweet on TV. He donated 50 million dollars to her university last year. He was one of the reasons she got her scholarship to study there. Maybe he just had a bad day.

"I am so sorry Mr. Neil. Sir Charles is just my patient."

Neil leaned back in his seat and scanned her face. She was either very good at lying or... she was telling the truth. That was totally out of the question. She could not be telling the truth. Women never tell truth. It wasn't in their dictionary. He was going to have a lot of fun breaking her to show everyone her true colors. Innocent my foot.

Neil cleared his throat.

"How old are you?" He was so sure she wasn't a day over nineteen. He just turned twenty-seven and marrying her just felt pedophilic for him.

"Twenty-three...sir" she hesitantly said. She wasn't sure what she should call him; he was her fiancee but a first name basis still felt very wrong for her.

Neil glanced at her suspiciously. He was going to send his investigator after her files and identity. He could bet a million dollars that she was a liar, a thief, and a gold-digger.

"Hmmmmmmm."

Samara took a glance at him. She still could not believe she was sitting in front of the most eligible bachelor of the Forbes magazine. She knew she was dreaming; she knew she would wake up soon. it was just impossible that this hot specimen would become her husband.

"Okay, Miss Winters. Let's go over the rules of this so-called marriage. Shall we?"

Her eyes widened on the word marriage. was this man really thinking of..... No, he couldn't be thinking about it.

"Are you deaf or do I need to take you to a psychiatric hospital." They weren't even married yet and she was already getting on his nerves.

Samara could not believe her ears. Was this man that rude? No...No her crush was a young selfless gentleman who was kind, generous, and hardworking. This was not her crush and this certainly was not her fiance. She picked up her bag and prepared to leave but clearly, she forgot the big and buff man who looked like he could lift her with the tip of his index finger. She gulped as he gave her a pointed look.

"Look I don't have time for this and I am certainly not interested in marrying a child but unfortunately we do not always get what we want do we?"

Samara slowly turned back to face him. He had his eyes firmly on the magazine and his sexy legs were crossed in a manly way.

"I..i...i...." She wished with all her might that she could string a sentence and not disgrace herself in front of this arrogant man. She had already given him enough reasons to insult her but her brain wasn't cooperating as her speech failed.

Neil cursed loudly. "Are you dumb?"

Samara shook her head

"Do you have speech problems?"

She shook her head again.

"Look, Miss Winters. I am a man of great reputation if you are going to be my wife you must learn to speak when you are addressed. Do I make myself clear?"

He was angry. Samara could feel it. She had made him angry. she hadn't even been in his presence for 30 minutes and she had made him angry. But she also could not believe that he had talked to her like that, scolded her like a small child. Her mind screamed at her to fight back and give him a piece of her mind, but she knew this man. He could put her behind bars for the rest of her life if she even dared to cross him.

"Get out. Your face is disgusting."

Samara wanted to cry she badly needed to let it out.

"Mike escort her out. "

The big and buff man suddenly grabbed her arm and half dragged, half pulled her out of the restaurant. Samara was too stunned to even think. She had never felt so belittled, but one thing was for sure..... she wasn't going to marry such a rude jerk even if he was the son of God...and apparently, she had no ride home.
