Mereoleona Vermillion

"Wake up, Master, this thing is eating me."

He slowly opened his eyes after hearing small voices in his slumber. He opened his eyes and glanced at Nightshade, his weapon, which was slashing at his grimoire's twilight codex. He was taken aback by the scene and hastily sat on the bed.

He swiftly regained control of the weapon and examined the grimoire. Twilight code was flapping like a bird around him. He was intrigued by the Twilight Codex.

"Do you understand what I'm saying?"

Twilight codex floated in front of him and opened its pages as it replied to his word; few words appeared.

"Understood, master."

'It has primary intelligence and can converse with me verbally.'

"Why are you fighting nightshade?"

"I can keep weapons in me, master." Several words emerged.

"See, master, it's trying to eat me."

After hearing Nightshade's grievances, Alex smiled. Nightshade was already as intelligent as a 10-year-old youngster.

He ate breakfast and his father departed the Hage village in the morning. In five years, the nightshade squad has developed significantly. Although it was not at the top of the list, it was not at the bottom either.

He returned to Nightshade town after a month. The magic knight exam was five months away. Alex was undecided about which magic Squad he should join.

He wants to assist his father in managing the squad. He does not want to join the squad because of his easygoing lifestyle. More crucially, there was the Black Bull Squad, which was a very loose squad.

A month later, he was taken aback by a surprise visit from the Crimson Lion Squad. Alex was familiar with the Crimson Lion squad because his mother was a part of it.

He was taken aback by the guest, who turned out to be Mereoleona Vermillion rather than Fuegoleon Vermillion. Alex had not expected to meet the lioness of Vermilion at his home. He took a step towards his father.

"Who is this, Father?"

"This is Mereoleona Vermillion, Alex."

"A former member of your mother's squad." Alex turned to face her.

Mereoleona Vermillion is a noblewoman and the first daughter of the Clover Kingdom's House Vermillion, one of its royal families.

Mereoleona is a woman with blue eyes and long, wavy vermilion-colored hair. Like her brothers, she has red markings around her eyes, she has one sharp, pronounced canine tooth. Mereoleona also observed him.

'What a massive amount of mana, he can match official squad members with that amount of mana.'

"Join the vermilion squad." He turned to face his father after hearing her comments. But his father's eyes were darting around. There was a brief moment of silence before Ethan spoke.

"Alex, you are free to join any squad you wish. Dad didn't make you do anything. However, I believe Vermilion Squad was an excellent platform for your development."

In Ethan's opinion, literal expressions such as 'join crimson lion or she will demolish this place'.

Alex spoke after looking at Mereoleona.

Mereoleona went outside as well.

At the time, it was relatively far from the city. Alex and Mereoleona were standing opposite each other.

"If I lose, I'll join your squad, and if you lose, you'll go on three dates with me."

There were multiple explosions as they were evenly matched. To be sure, Alex limited his battle power from the start. He had already observed Julius observing their battle with his father. As a result, he was an equal match for Mereoleona.

Mereoleona burst out laughing.

"Let's release your magical power, kid; I'm going to use all of mine."

"Mana Zone: Calidus Brachium Barrage."

"Mana Zone: Inferno swords."

"That's enough."

"Time-restraining magic: Chrono Stasis."

They both came to a halt in mid-air. Julius intervened in their conflict. Julius' intervention did not surprise Alex.

"You both demonstrated exceptional magical talents."

"How about a tie in this battle?"

He then deactivated the enchantment. Mereoleona gazed at Julius with angry eyes as soon as the spell was deactivated.

"Why did you enter the battle?"

"You would both have been gravely harmed."

"I'll find you again, kid." Let's have a match another time" She turned and walked away. Alex noticed her happy expression.

Ethan also arrived at his side.

"Alex, you are quite powerful."

Julius also turned to face him and spoke.

"Alex, could you tell us why you're so strong?"

Alex knows he can't hide from Julius forever, and Julius was present when Mereoleona came to visit. He could already feel his magical power. As a result, he displayed his battle power and prepared an explanation.
