Tracking

Following the streets the police radio mentioned Sandman had been at, all I found were mostly empty streets filled with sand and flipped over damaged cars.

The amount of sand on the ground made the place look like a miniature desert as the pavement below could basically not be seen at all. It looks like Marko left a large part of his body behind as he moved.

Continuing on toward Chinatown, where Sandman should currently be at I encounter masses of people hysterically running away from the district. Against the constant flow of people are some cops who are instead trying to push into the area.

Swinging over the flow of people, I notice some stopping to take out their phones and record me or take pictures. There are also loads of people very excited to see me.

"Look, mom, it's Spiderman! We saw him on tv yesterday!" A kid says, tugging on her mother's sleeve but gets picked up by his mother, who hurries along to escape the dangerous area.

"Spiderman, please give me an autograph!" A girl screeches from among the crowd while jumping up and down to get my attention.

"Hey, isn't that the crime-fighting guy the news keep blabbering on about?" One man says to his friend holding a beer bottle in his hand.

"Oh yeah, it is. If we get more people like him, maybe we can stop funding the police. Why do we even have them when some random people wearing costumes can do a much better job for free…." The first guy's friend complains only to get a hit to the back of the head. "Ow dude, what the hell was that for?"

"For being stupid."

All in all, a bunch of people seem to have their full attention on me rather than escaping for some reason.

After swinging over a giant eastern-style gate, I take notice of the beautiful lanterns hung above the streets and all the signs on the buildings now primarily being in Chinese with English translation on the bottom. A clear sign I have entered Chinatown.

Now that I'm here, how will I defeat Sandman in a fight? Maybe I could use heat of some kind to turn him into glass? Though, on second thought, having "Glassman" as an enemy could be a lot more dangerous…

The only other possible weakness I could think of is water, which Spiderman has exploited in the comics numerous times.

Well, having ways to beat him won't do me any good if I don't even know where the guy is at, so I should focus on locating Marko first.

I recall last week at school, Gwen told me about how her dad George was the one to arrest Marko in the first place and was worried about him going after them for revenge now that he had escaped from prison.

Maybe that's why Marko has come here today in the first place, to go after George, who should be relaxing with Gwen on his day off. How he knows about them being here is a mystery, though.

So to find Sandman, I should first find where Gwen and George are located at. Fortunately, I have the greatest yet, at the same time stupidest way to find them…snapchat!

I always thought it was really creepy, but the app has a map feature that shows where the users are located at. As such all, I really have to do is take out my phone from the inventory and look at where Gwen currently is.

All I have to do now is follow where the app leads me, and I should find Gwen and her dad, hopefully before Sandman finds them or at least before he has time to kill anyone.

Wait a sec, could my Snapchat friends see me moving really fast on the map whenever I was web-slinging around? Well, the only friend I have on there is Gwen anyway, so probably not a big issue.

While thinking about all this, I had been on the move toward my destination. Unfortunately, once I land, I see that Sandman arrived there before me if the big pile of sand next to the doorway is of any indication. It seems he had to reduce his size and leave a large pile behind just to fit in the building. I wonder how large he can get.

When I walk through into the store, my Spidersense activates immediately, prompting me to jump to the side as a bullet flies right through the place I had previously been standing at.

Looking around the inside of the building, I see George Stacy hiding Gwen behind his back while aiming a gun at a human-shaped sand monster that I assume to be Flint Marko.

The bullet I just jumped from had been shot by George, but he hadn't been aiming at me. He shot at Sandman and hit his target as well, but unexpectedly for him, the bullet had flown right through the man, doing no damage, and instead almost hit me.
