Big operation

Ash stood alone in his apartment, holding a gadget he'd just pulled from storage. In his hand were small, colorful orbs—his spy satellites. Each orb acted as a camera and microphone, able to gather information from a distance and send it to the monitor that came with the gadget. He examined one of the orbs, its polished surface reflecting a rainbow of colors under the light.

"Zoe," he said, looking down at the bracelet on his wrist, "can you connect to this thing?"

"Yes, Ash," Zoe's calm, steady voice replied. "I can link to the gadget and control its features."

"Perfect," Ash nodded. "Send these orbs out. I want them watching Killgrave and Jessica Jones. Let me know if anything unusual happens."

"Understood," Zoe answered, her tone as steady as ever.

One by one, the colorful orbs floated up and moved towards the window, disappearing into the city skyline. Ash watched them until they were out of sight.

"Good," he muttered to himself. "Keep an eye on them. I've got things to prepare."

With a purposeful stride, he turned toward a hidden door at the back of his apartment, leading down to his secret base. He entered, descending a narrow staircase until he reached his lab. Bright lights flickered on as he walked in, illuminating a large, central machine—the Inventing Machine. This was where his real work began.

Ash moved to the machine, picking up the microphone attached to its side. He took a breath before speaking.

"I want to create a gadget that can protect anyone from mind control or any kind of mental manipulation."

The machine buzzed to life, lights flashing across its surface as it processed his request. After a moment, a small book slid out from a slot on the side—a manual detailing how to build the mental protection device. Ash took it and placed it on a nearby workbench.

Without hesitation, he picked up the mic again. "I want a weapon," he said, his voice firm. "A katana with the properties of my Denkomaru gadget. It should be able to predict and counter any attack, physical or otherwise. And I should be able to choose whether my strike is deadly or not."

The machine buzzed and whirred once more, processing this more advanced request. A second manual slid out with all the instructions for the katana. Ash grabbed it, setting it beside the first.

But he wasn't done yet. He reached for the mic a third time, his expression thoughtful. "I want a gun that can shoot different types of bullets. Each bullet should have different effects—elemental attacks, stunning, binding the target, and even canceling any supernatural abilities if I choose."

The machine worked again, emitting a steady hum as it processed the complex specifications. Finally, the last manual appeared, and Ash picked it up, stacking it with the others.

With all three manuals ready, he took a deep breath and began to work. He started with the mental protection device, following the instructions closely, piece by piece. Hours passed, his concentration unbroken as he crafted each component with care. By the time he looked up from his workbench, the sun had begun to set outside, casting a soft orange glow through the small window.

Satisfied with his progress, he took a short break before moving on to the katana, paying careful attention to its intricate design. His movements were precise, his focus sharp, and when he tightened the final screw, the katana felt perfect in his hands. Finally, he tackled the gun, assembling each part carefully according to the manual's instructions. When he was done, the three gadgets lay before him on the workbench—a mental protection device, a katana with predictive capabilities, and a versatile gun.

Ash leaned back, exhausted but proud. He'd spent the entire day working, and the gadgets were complete.

He made his way back to his apartment, placing his tools on a nearby table. Needing a break, he grabbed the remote and collapsed onto the couch, turning on the TV. A reality show blared to life, filling the room with loud voices and dramatic music. Ash watched for a few moments, flipping through channels in search of something more engaging.

"This world's entertainment is seriously lacking," he muttered, shaking his head. "Back home, we had far better content than this."

After an hour or so, he turned off the TV, feeling a mix of frustration and nostalgia. "This world really has a lot of catching up to do," he sighed.

He glanced at his suit and the new gadgets, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. He had work to do. Strapping the katana to his back, he suited up, feeling the weight of his tools as he adjusted his gear. Once ready, he activated his teleportation device, vanishing from his apartment and reappearing in a remote area of New York City.

Standing in the shadows, he looked up at the skyline, the city lights stretching out before him. He activated his flight device, shooting up into the night sky, the cool breeze rushing past his suit as he soared above the city.

"Zoe," he called out, his voice steady, "anything serious happening right now?"

"There's an ongoing gunfight between the police and a mafia group in Hell's Kitchen," Zoe replied. "The police are pinned down and struggling. The situation does not look good."

Ash's expression hardened. "Guide me there, Zoe."

Following her directions, he sped through the sky until he reached Hell's Kitchen. Below, a fierce gunfight was raging. Captain George Stacy and his officers were taking cover behind their squad cars, crouched low as they fired back at the mafia members. Across the street, the mafia had taken over a restaurant, using the shattered windows as cover.

"Harvey!" Captain Stacy shouted to an officer nearby. "How much longer until backup gets here?"

Harvey ducked as a bullet pinged off the hood of his car. "They're on their way, sir! But it'll be at least twenty minutes!"

Captain Stacy cursed under his breath, frustration etched across his face. "We don't have twenty minutes!"

Just then, a white van screeched to a halt near the restaurant, the back doors facing the police line. For a moment, both sides fell silent, each trying to guess the next move. Then, the van's doors swung open, and a heavy machine gun was rolled out, its barrel aimed directly at the police.

"Everyone, fall back!" Captain Stacy shouted, waving his hand for his men to get behind thicker cover. The officers scrambled, pressing themselves against the sides of their cars, bracing for the inevitable hail of bullets.

But before a single shot reached them, they heard a dull thud in front of their line. Captain Stacy and his officers didn't dare look up, expecting to feel the bullets rip through their cover any second. But instead, they only heard the steady hum of a force field.

When they finally looked, they saw a figure standing between them and the mafia gunner, a shimmering blue shield stretching in front of him. It was Ash, clad in his suit, calm and unfazed as the bullets slammed against his force field.

The police stared in awe, a cautious sense of relief filling their faces. Behind the force field, they were safe, though the mafia continued to fire, their eyes wide with shock as they saw their bullets bouncing off harmlessly.

"Who… who is that?" one of the officers whispered, barely able to believe what he was seeing.

Ash turned his head slightly, his voice calm. "Stay behind me."

The mafia gunner adjusted his aim, frustration clear on his face. But Ash lowered his force field, letting it remain in place for the officers' protection, while he himself began walking forward, each step slow and deliberate.

The gunner opened fire, bullets colliding with Ash's suit in a relentless barrage. But Ash didn't slow down; each impact was absorbed by his suit, his pace steady as he approached the van. The mafia thugs watched in horror, their confidence crumbling as Ash drew closer, unaffected by their assault.

Finally, he reached the van, the gunner desperately aiming at him from point-blank range. Ash grabbed the barrel of the machine gun, twisting it with a single, forceful motion. Metal groaned as the hinges snapped, and Ash wrenched the gun free from its mount.

The gunner's face drained of color as Ash looked him in the eye, then delivered a swift, solid punch that knocked him out cold. Stepping out of the van, Ash turned his attention to the restaurant, where the remaining mafia members were firing wildly in panic.

Ash took a steady stance, tapping his foot against the ground as he released the stored energy from his suit. A powerful wave of energy surged forward, crashing into the restaurant's wall, blasting it apart and sending the thugs inside sprawling across the floor.

Once the dust settled, Ash scanned the scene, confirming that none of them had escaped. Satisfied, he turned back to the police, who stared at him in stunned silence.

Captain Stacy was the first to recover, stepping forward with gratitude in his eyes. "Thank you. We wouldn't have been able to hold them off without you."

Ash nodded in acknowledgment, but his gaze shifted to an officer lying on the ground, bleeding heavily. He quickly knelt beside him, inspecting the wound. "Zoe, what's his status?"

Zoe's voice was steady. "He's in critical condition. He won't survive without immediate assistance."

"Is there a way to help him?" Ash asked.

"Yes. I can use the suit's healing function to stabilize him," Zoe replied. "It's typically for personal use, but it will work here."

Ash placed his hand over the officer's wound, activating the suit's healing function. A soft green glow enveloped his hand, and under Captain Stacy's watchful eyes, the officer's breathing grew steadier, his bleeding gradually stopping.

"He'll be okay," Ash assured Captain Stacy, standing up.

The captain looked at him with a mix of gratitude and curiosity. "Who are you?"

Ash hesitated for a moment, then replied with a small smile, "I don't have a name yet. Maybe… the readers can help with that."

With a final nod, Ash turned, disappearing into the night, leaving the officers behind with a sense of wonder at the arrival of their mysterious new hero.
