Ch.19: Believer.

[Basic Martial Arts.]

[The SuperNatural]

[Basic Guide To Chi.]

[How To Adapt.]

[Today's Society]

These were the books that he had at the moment. When finished with the first batch of books, he got up to get some more. Ryan also gave him a book to look over if he wanted.

'First off, I wanna learn martial arts to defend myself. Never know when I might end up in a situation like that again.

The second book is more about the real world aspect of supernatural things. Basic guides to Chi because it had the same picture of that man in a crisscrossed pose like the one on the scroll back in that cave on its cover.

How to adapt is not only for my power, but to situations as well. It tells me survival skills and all that. Then finally, today's society. This book was made by Ryan. He made it for the purpose of... Well, it's embarrassing, but he made it for me.

He wanted to help me transition back into society without worry and by writing a book on everything's that happened these last few years, he's judged it would help. It also isn't a published book, but more like a journal.'

He explained in his head to absolutely no one.

'I'm torn between staying here and going to Japan. If I stay here, I get the benefit of spending time with people like Ryan. I had 'friends', but man, I just don't have the urge to meet them.

Anyways, if I go to Japan, I'll leave behind people like Ryan, but go to a place where someone with abilities such as myself are welcomed.

I'd..fit in better over there..'

If he was being honest with himself, he was leaning more towards going to Japan. 'I want to do more things in this second life. I feel like staying here would just be a waste. Though, I'm Immortal so I have all the time in the world..'

He opened up the first book and started reading. It explained to Clay the basic definition of martial arts and why people use them. Some for self defense, some for job requirements, and others for spiritual purposes.

'Cool..'

He reduced that it was because he was superhuman now that he could process and take in things quicker than the normal person could.

'I can read and process things at a much more faster rate than any human could. Not as fast as the flash, but it's still faster than the norm..'

The Martial Arts book didn't provide techniques and whatnot, but just establishing a solid foundation on what it was.

'When I was fighting that bear last night, I didn't know whether my moves would land or not. It distracted me and I'm sure the bear took advantage of that. Then again, it was my first time fighting, so I guess it's understandable..'

He closed the book, set it aside and picked up The SuperNatural. He read the book for a while, understanding everything even quicker since it wasn't the first time hes read this book.

'The Supernatural that I knew then and the Supernatural that I know now are completely different. Mostly because I know it's real..'

Mysteries like how the pyramids were built could be solved by what he knew now. The Grim Reaper, Angel's, Devils and even,

'God.'

He thought, remembering his conversation with God. 'Meeting God was enough proof that anything could happen. And what happened last night only enforced it. From now on, I'll be open to the idea of anything strange.

Wethers it's a man who can read minds or someone who can supposedly see into the future. I'll believe all of it..'

He placed his book face down and went onto the laptop. He searched up youtube and from there, had searched up videos on a specific person.

'Unity..'

He saw thousands of videos on him, each with views no less than a million.

He then pressed on a video and watched. It shows someone recording the sky and a few seconds later, a silver blur passing by, creating the sound of a jet engine.

The people in the video screamed in excitement as the camera panned to a tall building on fire. "Woah.." The video stopped and Clay clicked on another video featuring them.

This time, it was same silver blur in the sky flying into the clouds, and when the camera person zoomed out, you could see that his name was written with the clouds.

He watched more and more videos. From Unity saving people from bank robbers to him helping cats out of trees. It was like watching a real life superman take action. 'That's actually pretty cool. Superheroes, people who save others with their powers, actually...exist. It's amazing really..'

One such video showed him doing a superhero landing in front of a crowd of people. His suit, silver spandex, and his eyes, covered by a mask that only showed his black pupils.

"Is Everyone Safe?" He spoke.

Instanly, Clay was able to recognize that...

'Yeah, he's...my age? The height and voice gives it away..'

"Unity!!! O.MG, it's actually Unity!" Girls screamed without the S while dudes asked for pictures. I guess Unity didn't mind all of this as his smile never left his face. It was like it was stuck in one position.

'You can see the genuine good guy behind that smile. If I was there in person, I'd probably feel as safe as one would be in the presence of God. Like no harm would come to me, even if a meteor the size of the sun was coming towards us.'

He then went on Google and searched up news about him. Like wheres hes been at or what hes up to nowadays.

'It's weird. No signs of him in the last few weeks it seems. Like he just vanished off the face of the earth..'

Clay leaned backed and sighed. 'A superhero for 3 years magically vanishes. Either bro got tired of his job as a hero or something really bad happened to em'..'

Clay didn't want spend all his time just on Unity as hes heard there are more superheroes other than him.

After 2 hours of pure research on superheroes, he found something. Something that surprisingly linked all of them together.

'All of them and I mean ALL of them are freaking young as hell! Between the ages of 10 and 19 to be exact..' Kids, teenagers, and people on the brink of adult hood.

They were all young and technically speaking, younger than him as he deduced that 19 year olds with abilities were super rare and 16 year olds and such were the common age for these heroes.

'Unity, by height and voice, and maybe his maturity, probably makes him around 17 or 18. His powers are said to be Super Strength, Speed and Flight. You can trust the sources because well, he said them himself..'

Clay started biting his nails from the information he's received after all this time. 'Teen Superheroes... I read an article that focused on superpowers and the author whole heartedly believed that superpowers have existed ever since the first 11 year old boy, Cain, the son of Adam and Eve.

A specific age like that is what grasped my attention. Why 11? Why that age? That's what I kept thinking and so I decided to read more of that authors books.

Theories that say that only young adults get these superpowers because of something that happens once every few years. 75 years to be exact.

A comet would pass over earth and then, the rise of rumors about people having powers would spread.

Man, the guy was right all along. No wonder dude mysteriously died after the 4th book. He was right. He was actually right...'

Clay then wondered that something must've happened in these past few years in order for superpowered kids not be kept a secret anymore.

'Maybe too many and the government couldn't hide the information anymore? Whatever it is..'

Japan.

He felt like it held the answers that he needed and wanted.

'Damn it. Should I really go? I'll know more about myself and other superpowered beings, but..'

What exactly was holding him back. He himself didn't know the answer.

'I know it must be safer over there. Being together with other [Ability Holders]. I'd be safe and my family would as well. I wouldn't have to worry about anything, I think.

I hope..'

Eve sheepishly awoke, rubbing her eyes and looking up. "Kway..?" She said, Clay looking down and starring into her eyes. "Hey, Eve. I love you, y'know? If it means keeping you safe, I'd do anything.."

Fear doesn't necessarily mean being afraid of what is happening in that moment. It's what COULD happen and that's what scared him.

"I wuv Kway too!" She shouted and kissed his chin. Seeing her face of excitement was his dose of motivation and it's exactly what he needed right now.

Staying here though means living in constant fear of being targeted by people. He...didn't want that.

Picking her up, he closed the laptop and started walking away. "Ryan. I'll be back later to finish those books, so could you put them up for me?

Sorry for leaving them on the table.." Ryan, who was on his phone, looked up and said, "Alright. Be careful on your way home, alright?"

Clay nodded as he opened the door and left. It was around 9 PM and he had been the last person inside.

'Haven't made a complete decision on it, but I might just go. I can go to school, learn more about [Ability Holders] and my own power as well. More importantly though, I'll be safe. Dad has more connections in Japan than he does here anyways, so...'

What exactly would be the downside to starting this new life. He can escape the danger that could still be lurking in this city. 'Jasmine's gone and she probably took those guardians with her because I personally can't sense people watching us anymore.

That bear said that there'll be more people coming after me, and if they're superhuman, no one can stop them.

I'm inexperienced in practically everything. What exactly could I do, what exactly could my father do? He's human, and I'm not skilled enough.

It's just so many things that could happened and I'm not prepared for any of it. Going to Japan though would easily help me with that..'

He stopped at a bus station and thought with cars passing by.

'I'm not ready for anything yet...'
