Moonlit secrets

Luke, too, walked home with a smile on his face, feeling grateful for the connection he had with his friends.

Luke arrived home and spotted Kelvin sitting on the bench outside. Taking a seat beside his father, Luke mustered up the courage to ask, "Dad, how did you activate your werewolf curse?"

Kelvin fell silent for a moment, his eyes filled with memories. "I don't usually like to talk about it, son, but I suppose it's time you know," he finally replied.

"Okay, Dad," Luke said, bracing himself for what he was about to hear.

"I was around your age when it happened," Kelvin began, his voice tinged with a mix of nostalgia and pain. "It was a dark night, and I was walking home with two friends, Lucas and Harry. Little did we know, we were being followed by a group of street gangsters, seeking revenge for something Lucas' brother had done."

Kelvin paused, the weight of the past heavy on his shoulders. "They attacked us, unleashing their fury upon us. We fought back, but in the chaos, I managed to grab hold of a dagger. Desperate to defend myself, I swung it around, not fully aware of what I was doing."

His voice quivered as he continued, "In a tragic turn of events, I accidentally stabbed Lucas with the dagger. Blood spilled from his wound, and the gangsters laughed callously, reveling in our pain. It was then, under the light of the rising full moon, that my werewolf curse was activated."

Kelvin's voice grew softer, carrying the weight of remorse. "My bones broke and reformed, transforming me into a creature I had only heard of in legends. The next thing I knew, I woke up in the depths of the forest, disoriented and overwhelmed."

He took a deep breath, his eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and regret. "Soon after, I learned from the news that Harry and the gangsters who attacked us had met a gruesome fate, their bodies mutilated beyond recognition. The incident was dismissed as a wild animal attack, but deep down, I knew the truth."

Kelvin's voice trailed off, his gaze fixed on a distant memory. "Ever since that day, guilt has haunted me, a constant reminder of the lives affected by my curse. I've tried my best to bury that chapter of my life, but it's something that can never truly be forgotten."

Luke's heart sank as he realized the guilt his father had to carry on for so many years

" am sorry dad for reminding you " Luke said

"Kelvin's voice trembled with determination as he looked into Luke's eyes. 'No, son,' he said, his voice filled with a mix of resolve and vulnerability. 'I believe it's time for me to confront the truth and free myself from the clutches of these nightmares that have haunted me for far too long"

As the night wore on, Kelvin and Luke continued their heartfelt conversation, sharing stories and moments of laughter that eased the weight of their burdens. The flickering candlelight cast a warm glow on their faces, creating a sense of comfort and camaraderie in the air.

In that intimate space, their bond grew stronger, as they found solace in each other's presence. The weight of their shared secrets and fears seemed to lighten, replaced by a renewed sense of hope and resilience.

They laughed, their laughter echoing through the room, intertwining with the crackling of the fireplace.

As the night slowly gave way to the approaching dawn, Kelvin and Luke found strength in their shared journey. They knew that, together, they could face any challenge that lay ahead, armed with the power of love, understanding, and the unwavering bond between a father and son."

It was the next morning, Luke woke up and made his way to the shower, feeling the warm water wash away the remnants of sleep. After getting dressed, he headed downstairs to find his mom, Jessica, already finished cooking breakfast. The aroma of freshly cooked food filled the air, making it quite a lovely morning.

Kelvin, Luke's dad, came down wearing his suit and carrying his suitcase. "Good morning, dear," Jessica greeted him, giving him a warm hug. Kelvin took a seat at the dining table.

"Good morning, Dad," Luke and his sister Sandra chimed in unison.

Kelvin ate a small portion of breakfast, clearly in a rush. "I have to go now," he said to Jessica. "But you've barely eaten," she replied with concern.

"Yeah, I'm a bit full. I'm running late, so take care," Kelvin responded, giving Jessica a quick hug and peck on the cheek. With that, he left for work.

"So, what are you up to today, bro?" Sandra asked Luke.

Luke thought for a moment before replying, "Well, nothing much, really. Just planning to watch a movie with Jasmine and Anthony

" Oh, nice," Sandra replied, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "And what about you, Sandra?" Luke asked, leaning in closer.

Sandra chuckled, her voice filled with warmth. "Well, I've been listening to music, you know me. Oh, and speaking of things, can I please borrow your PS3?" she asked, a hopeful look in her eyes.

Sandra request caught Luke off guard, but he quickly regained his composure. "Yeah, you can borrow it, no problem," he replied, a smile spreading across his face. "Thanks, bro," she said, her gratitude evident in her voice.

Their conversation took a turn as Sandra couldn't help but inquire about Luke's love life. "So, what about you and Jasmine? What's new?" she asked, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Luke's reaction was immediate, causing him to choke on his food. He quickly took a sip of water to compose himself. "Why would I ask her out? We're just friends," he said, his voice slightly strained.

Sandra couldn't help but tease him, a knowing smile playing on her lips. "I know you've got a soft spot for her, bro. You like her," she said, her words filled with playful certainty.

Luke's denial was swift, but the blush on his cheeks betrayed him. "Nah, we're just friends," he insisted, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

Sandra couldn't help but laugh, her amusement evident in her voice. "You're blushing, bro. That means I'm right," she said, her voice filled with triumph.

Both Luke and Sandra shared a knowing smile, their unspoken understanding bringing them closer. "Well, I guess I just like her, not like-like her. Just like her as a friend," Luke finally admitted, his voice tinged with a hint of vulnerability.

Sandra nodded, her eyes filled with compassion. "It's more than just friendship, bro, but alright," she said, her voice gentle and reassuring.

Their conversation was interrupted by Jessica, their mother, who entered the room. "So, what are you two siblings talking about?" she asked, her voice filled with curiosity.

"Nothing, Mom," Sandra and Luke replied in unison, exchanging a quick glance.

Jessica smiled, her eyes sparkling with affection

As the evening approached, Luke eagerly awaited the arrival of his friends, Jasmine and Anthony. They had planned to meet at Luke's house before heading to the cinema. Luke bid his younger sister, Sandra, goodbye as he stepped out to join his friends.

The trio made their way to the cinema, anticipation building with each step. Once they arrived, Jasmine couldn't help but inquire about the movie they would be watching. "So, what movie are we watching?" she asked with curiosity.

Anthony , always ready with a suggestion, confidently replied, "We're watching 'I am death'! It's an Sci fi film that's sure to keep us on the edge of our seats."

However, Jasmine hesitated, expressing her unease about watching a certain movie. "You know, the last time we watched that series, it gave me the creeps," she admitted, a hint of fear in her voice.

Understanding her concerns, Luke quickly reassured her, "No worries, Jasmine. Let's go for 'King's War' instead. It's full of thrilling action that will keep us entertained."

With their movie choice settled, the trio eagerly entered the cinema, ready for an evening of excitement and adventure.

"Yeah, that movie was awesome, Jasmine! I'm glad we went with 'King's War' instead of 'I Am Death'. It definitely had a lot of action and kept us on the edge of our seats," Luke exclaimed, his excitement still lingering.

Anthony chimed in, "Yeah, 'King's War' was a great choice, Luke. I'm glad we all enjoyed it. We can always catch up on 'I Am Death' later."

As they exited the cinema, Jasmine couldn't contain her enthusiasm, "The movie was amazing, guys! I loved every minute of it!"

Luke nodded in agreement, "Totally, Jasmine. It was such a fun time. Alright, I guess it's time for us to head home now."

"Yeah, I guess so," Anthony agreed.

Luke bid farewell to his friends, "Well, this was a really nice time, guys. See you both at school!"

Jasmine replied, "Definitely, Luke. See you soon!"

With smiles on their faces, the three friends went their separate ways, each reflecting on the memorable movie experience they had just shared.
