"Alright, so what's your name?" Ethan asked, looking at the new Concubine in front of him. They were currently standing by his tent, a bit away from the army's campsite, situated on higher ground.
"Luna. My name is Luna."
"Just Luna?"
"Yes, just Luna."
"Pleased to meet you, Luna. My name is Ethan Lenistark."
"I already knew your name. Actually, I'm not sure if someone who hasn't heard your name exists, especially when it comes to a woman," Luna said with a displeased tone.
Ethan smiled at Luna and sat down beside a large tree. The reason Ethan chose Luna over the other two girls was twofold. Firstly, when he read the minds of the princesses, he only saw that Luna hated the Avarya kingdom, whereas the other two girls had selfish desires in their thoughts. Luna, on the other hand, hated the Avarya kingdom and King Cedric. The second reason was Luna's four tails protruding from her hips... Well, of course, the second reason wasn't really important. The second reason was just the harmless fantasies of a well-bred man.
"So, Luna, what race are you?" Ethan asked, glancing at Luna's tails.
Seeing Ethan glance at her tails, Luna blushed and tried to hide her face as she spoke. But by turning away, she made Ethan see her tails more clearly.
"I'm from the Fox race. My mother was a fox woman," she said.
"Why did she marry a lunatic like Cedric?"
"Who said my mother wanted to marry him? That bastard Cedric waged war against my mother's tribe and eventually took my mother as a war prize by force. My mother was the daughter of the fox tribe's leader and the most beautiful among the fox women. After seeing my mother, Cedric wanted to take her by offering exceptional gifts and promises to the fox tribe's leader, but my mother refused. So, he waged war against the entire fox tribe just to capture my mother," Luna said. With each sentence she uttered, her voice began to tremble. Her voice and face revealed anger and sorrow.
"I'm sorry for what you've been through and for what I said. Would you like to sit beside me? The view of the capital and the mountains behind it from here is amazing," Ethan said. It was one thing he had learned from his previous life. If someone talks about their painful past, no words you say will comfort them, especially if it's the first time you talk to them. What you should do is provide them with a comfortable environment and a peaceful moment. This way they won't have negative feelings towards you and they will feel a little bit at peace around you
After thinking for a while, Luna wiped the tears from her eyes and sat down beside Ethan, leaning against the tree. Unbeknownst to Luna, she began to feel comfortable beside Ethan. The two of them stood there silently for a while, gazing at the beautiful view of the army's campsite and the distant Avarya capital. After a while, they silently went back to their tents. The next day, Ethan woke up to the voice of his guard.
"My lord, King Richard is summoning you."
"What's the reason?"
"We are entering the capital, and he wants you to stand beside him at the front," the guard said.
"Okay, I'll be there in a few minutes," Ethan said. After the guard bowed his head, he quickly left. Ethan headed towards Luna's tent and entered.
"Didn't you learn that you shouldn't enter a woman's room like this, Prince?"
After looking at Luna's cute white ears perched atop her head, Ethan looked into her eyes.
"You're no longer just a woman; you're my woman. I came here to ask if you want to take revenge for your mother yourself," he said.
Ethan's first words caused Luna's cheeks to flush, but her expression instantly turned serious when she heard his next words.
"If you allow me to do that, I promise to be a loyal and good wife to you for the rest of my life."
"I'll ensure that you can kill Cedric, but you must wait until we return to the Asina kingdom."
"Alright Ethan, I'm okay with it," Luna said.
"Alright then, wait here. I'll go get ready," he said and walked towards his tent.
Not long after, he emerged from the tent wearing a white armor with navy embroidery. Ethan's black hair, blue eyes, and the armor he wore exuded magnificence even from afar. Undoubtedly, Ethan looked better than any other men in this world.
After admiring Ethan, who was now her husband, Luna stood up and walked towards him. As Ethan approached Luna, he noticed her admiring gaze and smiled. "Are you ready?" he asked. Luna nodded with determination. They left the campsite together and headed towards the center of the camp.
Upon reaching the center, they saw Richard and the elite troops waiting. Ethan mounted the white horse prepared for him. Luna also mounted her designated horse and took her position.
"You kept us waiting, son," Richard said.
"I'm sorry, father, I hurried as much as I could to prepare," he said. Richard, looking at his son's majestic figure on the white horse, remarked, "Well, it shows." With that, the army of the Asina Kingdom set off towards the capital of the Avarya Kingdom.
The Asina Kingdom had already taken over and prepared the capital. Prince Viktor, or rather King Viktor now, had left the capital with his entourage. The capital of the Avarya Kingdom was now another city far away. This city lost its capital status and became another city belonging to the Kingdom of Asina.
When King Richard and Prince Ethan entered the capital with elite troops around them, the sight before them shocked them. The entire populace was celebrating the entry of the Asina Kingdom's army into the city. Children played with balloons, some adults waved the flag of the Asina Kingdom. Young men looked in awe at the elite guards of the Asina Kingdom. Many young women looked admiringly at Prince Ethan, handsome and majestic on his white horse. Ethan's fame had spread to many neighboring kingdoms, and he had become the subject of many stories. His fame was sure to increase even more after this war. Undoubtedly, Prince Ethan had made a greater impact than King Richard in the war against the Avarya Kingdom.
As Ethan looked around more carefully, he noticed someone drawing on a canvas in front of a house's roof. Then he noticed the same situation on other rooftops. Many artists wanted to depict this event. After all, they were witnessing a historic event. One artist was trying to draw Ethan's portrait.
Thus, with grand celebrations, they entered the old palace of the Avarya Kingdom. That very evening, the entire army of the Asina Kingdom held a grand feast. People all over the city were celebrating among themselves.
The fact that the city was so happy showed what an incompetent king the previous King Cedric had been. All the people hated him. King Richard had even put many guards in the dungeon where Cedric was kept. Just in case someone wanted to kill him.
When the banquet was over, Ethan went to his assigned room. They were going to stay in this city for the next winter and he wanted to write letters to his loved ones. Ethan wrote a few letters to all the girls and his mother, telling them he was fine, and then he took out another piece of paper.
It was for Catherine, whose true identity he still did not know...
