Chapter Four: The Guide!

Abell could have used his encounter with Humir to find out more about this place he was reborn in but he decided it was better to simply learn everything by exploring. Miller assumed that his current body is very powerful for having sprung so much from the green-eyed bunny, it's remarkable the inordinate amount of abilities he has as a simple [Magic Bat] who didn't even have a Rank, naturally he feels grateful to the god for all these blessings. Anyway, the time to use his bioenergy points came, in reality, he didn't know how to do it.

It felt like the system was reading his mind but that was very convenient, he didn't care too much about it, he had nothing to hide anyway. Well, he still had certain questions to ask, how to use the guide is one of them.

[Reinforced Leather] – 500 Bioenergies.

A huge list of quirks was present in front of Abell, he felt lost, he even saw a quirky that let him have two more arms! Unfortunately he didn't have Bioenergy to buy many of the quirks and just decided to ask the guide what he should choose among the three he could buy now.

[Improved Muscles is the best option you have, it will raise your STR up to 10 points! Through this you will reach a new league of power. Let me explain a few things to you, any being with stats below 10 can be considered "normal", but after that you become something completely "abnormal". Well, every 10 points in attributes every being undergoes a qualitative change!]

[The ranks are divided between Rank E, E+, Rank D, Rank D+, Rank C, Rank C+, Rank CC+, Rank B, B+, Rank BB+, Rank A, Rank A+, Rank AA+, Rank AAA+, Rank S, Rank S+, Rank SS+, Rank SSS+ and Rank X. Basically when a creature evolves once it becomes Rank E and this goes on until it reaches the end of its evolutions. Well, skills have the same ranks as materials, this is something used to classify most things. You're a little different in that you're not limited to Rank X and can become something bigger than that, so just relax.]

The reward looked great but the quest difficulty sure made him nervous but Abell soon calmed down again, his gaze returned to the Peculiarities List interface and he finally spent all of his bioenergy points to get the [Enhanced Muscles ]. At first he didn't feel anything but suddenly the boy heard the sound of something tearing and an excruciating one began to run through his entire body, Miller fell to the ground in agony, his body was remodeling itself, becoming stronger but it brought to him an infernal pain, he began to cry and just didn't cry because he didn't have the strength for such action. Again he felt his awareness slip away and when he woke up the pain had finally evaporated, he scrambled to his feet and noticed new warnings.

[Uncommon Strength (Rank E)]: This skill makes you so strong that with your bare hands you can easily destroy rocks.

Despite suffering a lot from the pain, Abell still felt very pleased to receive these upgrades, now he had the confidence to face all the Miner Monkeys! Focused and motivated he followed quickly to the end of the corridor, coming across a fork, which path should he follow? With [Improved Echolocation] he was able to notice the presence of four Miner Monkeys in the passage on the right and on the left he noticed the presence of only three. Preferring to face a smaller number of enemies he went straight to the left passage, using the darkness to his advantage he approached one of the Miner Monkeys and simply pierced his throat with his claws, the monkey didn't even have time to scream when he was killed, the smell of blood and the sound of the thud of his companion's fall alerted the other two monkeys who were startled by the sudden death of their confrere, making room for Abell's unrestrained onslaught, because of Humir he had adapted perfectly to his body and his fight the day before gave him the experience he needed to fight well enough. When he got close to the monkey closest to him, Miller just used his claws again to finish him, a relatively simple feat, his agility, strength or any other attribute is much higher than the monkey that couldn't do much to react. The other monkey also recovered and attacked Abell quickly, delivering a full blow to his back, the pickaxe didn't get to pierce but still hurt enough for him to let out a small moan of pain, his newest peculiarity definitely helped him in this situation. Despite being pushed by the impact, the boy still recovered quickly and went into action, with agile movements he approached his last enemy and grabbed his pickaxe with his right hand, the latter just tried to back away and pulled his pickaxe, with his left-handed hand Abell landed a well-aimed blow to the Miner Monkey's jagular that did not resist and died in agony.
