The Betrayal of the Empire 1

Uchi was watching the tournament then suddenly heard the dragons roaring. It was the roaring of distress and warning. Paulla heard it as well then looked at Uchi. Nobunaga opened one eye and looked back. The dragons tried to stop someone, but failed then the mystery figure appeared at the top of the announcer building. Zain looked closely and saw it was one of the Supreme Ten. He stood up and his hair turned white and his eyes shined red.

"Zain?" Azami looked at him.

"I should've known he would attack while Stella was away.." Zain said and watched the person jump down. He jumped down as well and the mysterious figure slashed at the combatant, but said threw his phantom sword at the person to block the attack.

"Whoa, what's this?! Two people have entered the battle?!" The commentator said in excitement.

"You shouldn't interfere with the Emperor no longer." The person said and their eyes glowed a dark blue.

The combatants looked at Zain and the other figure. The person snapped his fingers and a loud roar sounded in the sky. Uchi looked up and looked shocked.

"Fafnir..?!" She stood up and saw Aria and I run up. "Aria!"

Aria looked at Uchi then Uchi pointed up. Aria looked up and grunted. Fafnir was the Golden Dragon in the air that could drain any magic attack and shoot it back out at double the strength. Its eyes glowed red as it roared.

"Fafnir...Wizard Burst." The person snapped their fingers then Fafnir roared and shot a yellow energy blast at the arena.

Uchi roared and shot a silver energy blast at Fafnir's attack. I was amazed at her strength then shook my head and looked at the person. I got a call from my phone and picked up.

"Ste...lla..! Th...e Em...pir...e..! Att...aching..!" Veronica said, but her connection was poor.

"Veronica?! Veronica! Dammit I have to get back home..!" I said then turned around.

"I'll come with!" Aria said.

"What?! No you--"

"Let her go. We will handle this." Nobunaga said. Ranmaru looked at us and nodded.

"I'm coming with you mama!" Azami said and jumped down followed by Saya and the others.

"Zain!" I called out.

Zain gave a thumbs up. This was the third time we had to split up, but I trusted him. I let the group over to the airport to go back to Arcania. Zain looked at the person and the sclera of his left eye turned black as he turned into his Dark Phantom Form. Red lightning surged from his body and a black and red horn materialized from the left side of his head. Black and red aura spiralled around him and the people looked at Zain in awe.

"Zain, Ex-Commander of the Holy Order...Husband of Stella Bushi...King of Lunia...and Commander of the Nightmare Assembly. You hold exceptional abilities, but the Empire spent the last few months preparing this attack...prepare your final words now..because Arcania AND Genten will fall!" The person said.

"Good thing I've been secretly working on this new technique that even holds a candle to Stella's True Heavenless Bushi Technique." Zain said and summoned his Phantom Excalibur in his hand.

"Well I hope you don't disappoint me...by the way if you haven't forgotten, my name is Reido..number 2 of the Supreme Ten." Reido snapped his fingers and Fafnir flew off.

"We should go stop Fafnir. Zain can you handle this guy?" Uchi asked?

"Yeah..just go stop Fafnir." Zain said and looked back at Uchi.

Uchi nodded and ran off with Nobunaga and the others. The people began evacuating the coliseum. Zain and Reido waited for the people to leave. The arena soon fell empty and all there was left was Zain and Reido. Reido summoned his katana from a portal and looked at it.

"When you were in the Supreme Ten...you always had a speed disadvantage against me because I used a katana and you, a Greatsword. Now look at us, the battle will just end the same. You losing!" Reido dashed towards Zain and slashed.

Zain blocked the attack and their blades locked together and Reido had a sadistic smile on his face. Zain pushed Reido away then slashed and they clashed multiple times.

"Just like years ago! Still the same Zain! Nothing has changed about you at all!" Reido laughed as he clashed with Zain.

Zain didn't speak a word to Reido. He slashed downwards then Reido sidestepped then grabbed Zain's arm then palmed his chest. Zain grunted.

"Magic Bullet Technique: Entrapment." Reido laughed and a magic circle appeared around Zain's feet, trapping him for a certain amount of time.

"What the.." Zain tried to move, but couldn't. He was stuck in that one spot.

"Now..I won't kill you now, but I will make you suffer!" Reido jumped back and a portal opened then he started shooting magic blades at Zain's body.

Zain groaned in pain as he was hit. He wanted to move but couldn't and kept getting hit. He panted and lowered his head. He growled and panted more as his body released red lightning bit by bit.

"What's the matter Zain? Your wife isn't here to save you this time!" Reido laughed and summoned portals around Zain then magic blades hit Zain from all directions.

Zain's heart beat quickened and he panted faster. The sclera of his right eye turned black slowly. He balled his fist then red and black lightning surged around his body and he yelled then the magic circle began to crack. Reido noticed and looked at Zain. Zain bellowed and the magic circle crackled. The Phantom Excalibur materialized slowly. The sword was deep black with gold markings. It had dark red aura emitting from the blade. Zain finally gave in complete to his curse and accepted the final stages.

"The Final Stages of the Phantom Excalibur and my curse is complete.." Zain said. "Requiem Excalibur is complete and I finally finished my Requiem Transformation."

Zain looked up and glared then his aura surged wildly from his body. Reido was surprised as he looked at Zain. Zain took a step forward and dashed towards Reido then slashed. Reido blocked the attack and was blown away into the wall. Reido coughed as his back hit the wall. He stumbled forward and Zain appeared in front of him and punched his stomach then kicked Reido away. Reido rolled on his side and Zain twirled his sword. Reido stood up and snapped his fingers then three portals appeared in the sky. He pointed and the portals shot out powerful energy blasts at the same time. An explosion happened and a large puff of smoke was the outcome.

"You're that desperate to kill me..? Face it Reido, I've become stronger than you will ever be." Zain said as he was still standing when the smoke cleared.

"W-What..?! How--"

Zain walked towards Reido and his sword glowed. Reido picked up his sword and got ready. Zain looked at him and chuckled.

"Pathetic." Zain said.

"Shut up!" Reido dashed towards Zain and slashed. Zain dodged then slash and looked at him.

"Your attempts are futile..Embrace the Empty Skies you'll be seeing in the afterlife." Zain said and punched Reido's stomach. Reido coughed blood and fell on his hands and knees. Zain looked at him and raised his sword over his back. "Any last words..?"

"F*ck you." Reido said.

"I'll make sure your sister joins you in the afterlife.." Zain smirked and shoved his sword through Raido's chest and Reido groaned then Zain slashed forward, killing Reido immediately. "Threat neutralized."

Zain wiped the blood from his sword with his scarf and turned normal then looked to his right and noticed a woman walking up.

"I knew I heard someone fighting here and my my...you made quite the mess.." The woman smiled.

"Lady Nō! We gotta get to Nixtorm! Mitsuhide needs our assistance!" Another lady said.

"Right right. Let us be off then. I shall see you later.." Lady Nō said to Zain and walked off with her partner.

Zain looked at Nō and her partner then walked off. He took a detour over to Fafnir's location. While he did that, my crew was headed towards Arcania. I knew it was too good to be true that the Emperor wouldn't attack. Now I have a reason to kill him and revive my need...to kill.
