Six hours of darkness (3)

Charles was walking down the street trying to find a snack bar or restaurant, after some walking, he felt that someone had bumped into him.

The man who bumped into him was wearing a suit and talking on the phone.

Charles and the man looked at each other and the man said:

"Have you gone blind?"

The man said this, and then hurriedly walked back.

Charles put his hands on the shoulder where the man had bumped into him and started walking again.

The man, who was walking quickly, suddenly fell to the ground, the people around him were worried that he would not get up, and rushed to check on him.

A crowd began to form around the man and Charles, seeing this from afar, gave a slight smile and went back to look for a place to eat.

After a long time, he found a store that looked like a snack bar, and although it was crowded, he decided to go in anyway.

As he opened the door, a ringing sound could be heard, as he entered he realized that the restaurant looked like an upscale restaurant, quickly an attendant approached Charles and said pointing to a table:

"Good morning sir, there is a free table in the middle, you can sit there."

Charles was pleased to be so welcomed and quickly started walking to the table and sat down.

As he sat down, the attendant said cheerfully:

"You can look at the menu and order something."

Charles picked up the menu from the table and opened it.

When he looked at the menu, he was amazed that there were several foods and drinks, so he began to order:

"I'll have one of each, please."

The attendant was astonished to hear the man say this, but quickly recovered, as she thought he was someone who held food contests.

He nodded and said:

"Okay, in a little while your orders should arrive."

The attendant spoke this and walked to the counter.

Charles watched him go and felt happy, he was surprised that it was so simple to order his food.

He stretched out in his chair and mentally spoke:

'Nothing will spoil my day today!'

He suddenly noticed that there was a mirror on the table, picked it up and pointed it at his face. He could see Cain's face, but the distinguishing feature was the moon tattoo on his forehead and his black eyes.

He was a little surprised that he had forgotten these his shape and thought:

'No one found my appearance odd? Do they think I'm that kind of crazy person who tattooed his face and eyes?'

He looked around and noticed that there were quite a few people, mostly young people. He had nothing to do, so he decided to look out the window and observe the view.

After a while, 3 attendants approached Thomas taking their orders on his plate, they approached Thomas' table and placed their plates on the table.

Thomas was eager to start eating, and quickly grabbed a cheeseburger, but was interrupted by the store manager who said:

"Normally we don't charge customers before they eat, but since your case is special and there is so much food involved, I ask you to please pay."

Everyone inside the restaurant, stopped talking and looked at Charles waiting for him to pay, but what shocked everyone, was Charles' line:

"I don't have any money."

A silence descended on the restaurant, what broke the silence, was the anger of the manager who said:

"Do you have any idea how much food you have ordered? Do you know how much damage this will do to us? You better find a way to pay for all this!"

Charles ignored the manager's complaints and started eating the food that was on the table.

Several people started recording these scenes, many flashes were pointed in Charles' direction, but since he was in a good mood, he mentally said as he savored his snack:

'Nothing will spoil my day.'

But to his surprise, the store manager, held Charles' arm and took the cheeseburger from his hand and said:

"Have you gone mad? You will only eat if you pay for all of this."

Charles looked at the crowd that was staring at him as he recorded him, what irritated him was the flashlight on his cell phone, but he decided to give it one last chance:

"Sir, aren't you going to let me eat?"

The manager approached Charles and spoke trying to sound like someone tough:

"Pay and you can eat!"

Charles became angry and said:

"Okay."

Walking between a sidewalk were Aphrodite, Kali and Gaia.

They attracted a lot of attention from the men because they were extremely beautiful, some even tried to make conversation, but all were ignored.

As they walked, Kali asked the girls:

"What are we going to do when we meet him?"

Aphrodite looked at Kali and then looked up to the heavens and spoke:

"We will probably fight and die..."

A sad atmosphere fell over the girls, but then Gaia said:

"If you want to come back, you can come back."

Aphrodite gave Gaia a smile and said:

"We will support her and if we are going to die, then we will die fighting!"

Gaia nodded and the three of them started walking again. After a while, they stopped in front of a snack bar with all the windows covered by curtains and noticed that on the door was written "Closed".

They were hesitant, but decided to open the door, and when they entered, they found a surreal scene.

Several humans were lying on the floor, some were lying on tables, others were sitting, apparently all dead.

In the middle of all the humans, there was a man sitting with his back to the girls.

They noticed that the man was eating and exchanged glances and nods.

They walked slowly towards the man, but to their surprise, the man said:

"Sit down, there is plenty of food."

They froze in place from their fright, but calmly, they started walking towards the man and sat down on the chairs at the table.

Kali, Aphrodite and Gaia looked at the man and noticed that it was Cain, but the difference would be the black eyes and the moon tattoo on his forehead.

Kali and Aphrodite, felt like a rabbit in front of a large predator.

Charles looked at the girls and said:

"Eat, it is better we talk on a full stomach."

The goddesses plucked up courage and started picking at slices of pizza, but not because they were hungry, but because they didn't want to disrespect the being in front of them.

Cain looked at goddesses eating and was satisfied and said:

"Hm, I wanted to enjoy my day, but humans are so..."

He picked up the bottle of soda and started to drink, after he was done, he said:

"It's strange how power, transforms people... when we are on the same level as humans, we feel equal to them, but when we are on a level way above, we see them as insects, I guess that must be the arrogance..."

The girls didn't understand why he was saying that, but they understood the meaning behind those words.

Charles finished eating and spoke as he propped his elbows on the table:

"So, shall we talk?"
