Chapter 14-Reflection

A scar ran down my chest, and I was missing an arm. I touched the blood dripping down my waist and leaned against a tree behind me. A gust of wind blew at me.

Luckily, I had pants now.

I ripped my shirt and wrapped it around my shoulder; my arm was cut clean off.

The pain I felt was unreal, but not something I wasn't used to. I shifted my thoughts from the pain to the fight with the ogre and concluded one thing: I was reckless.

Reckless couldn't even describe my actions; it was blatantly stupid. But I didn't regret it. The reason is, I put them out of their suffering. Was I noble? No.

I was just noisy. I had no reason for entering another man's country and inflicting my views on them. I wasn't in America anymore.

And I felt like if I died, there would be no second chance. Everything up to this moment felt so fictitious.

I shivered at how dumb I had been lately, even calling myself the primordial of death.

I planted my hand in my face in embarrassment.

But if it wasn't for those strange eyes, I could have killed everyone; I could have finish the job.

I willed my tent between two trees and lay in the bath comfortably. I willed the tent to heal me. Pain hit me like someone drilling into my shoulder.

Energy storage: 50%

What's that? I looked at the notification.

Then darkness greeted me, in its warm embrace. A comforting existence that I could always go back to.

————

In front of the ogre primordial Henry, he sat in a chair made out of pure mana. He gazed at the pig in front of him with disdain.

He didn't want to be in the same room as this guy. It was his best friend, Abby the Dryad, who persuaded him to meet Eden. He had better things to do.

Henry wanted to kill Eden centuries ago, but this rapist had his way. This bastard had allies that Henry didn't want to touch.

"What do you want?" Eden asked Henry. But Henry thoughts was somewhere else.

But goddamn, every day he saw Eden, he was convinced to just fuck everything, to tear this fucker to pieces.

But he couldn't. He had a family, a child coming up. It was always between responsibility and wants.

Henry let his mana push his hair back in frustration. His brown eyes looked around, wondering why he was here.

All Abby told him was that there would be a surprise. And Henry loved surprises. What could it be, he wondered.

Until the unexpected happened, he heard screams in the distance. He felt a wave of essence and mana he never knew existed.

He didn't have to look to know that this was his surprise. He wanted to smile but kept it hidden.

"Henry, what have you done?" shouted Eden as he stood up from his chair. He expanded his spiritual energy to feel what was happening.

Eden trembled with anger, lifting his hand as it glowed blue. He pushed it down, but his attack didn't work as it should have. He looked back at Henry quickly, anger flashing across his face. It had to be his doing.

But Henry hadn't moved. He crossed his legs with a nonchalant air, inspecting his clothes. He was wearing a black suit.

"Why would you say that now, Eden?" Henry said with a pause. "We go way back."

"Then how did that fucker enter here at the same time as you?" shouted Eden.

As Eden was ready to move, he heard a deep, menacing voice. "Now, now, you shouldn't do that. Calm down, little piggy."

"Do you think you can attack him before I kill you? Do you know how long I've been waiting for this moment? Try me, please try me." Henry smiled and then started laughing.

Eden squeezed his hand in anger. Yes, Henry was right. He didn't think he could kill that guy without dying. Even he knew he shouldn't test one of the strongest humans.

With that, Henry stood up from his mana chair, which disappeared. He straightened his suit and walked beside Eden. He stood there for a second, then exited the building.

"And hey, you need to improve your territory. It's a shit show." With that, Henry disappeared in a blur.

I looked at the new tent message. When I got the stone, this tent didn't need energy to operate. Now it did. Does it need me to give it energy? I willed essence to connect to the tent, but nothing happened. Well, I'd have to figure that out later.

I had to compliment the system; this tent was just amazing. The temperature was always perfect, the lighting was perfect too, and if I wanted to adjust anything, all I had to do was will it to the system.

Yes, it was creepy, but it was damn reliable.

I checked my notifications.

Gain 18 levels:

Level rewards: Essence +3, Mana +3, Spiritual Energy +3

I was now officially a ticking bomb. I felt like a balloon. Every ten levels was a threshold. I passed the threshold, so why wasn't my level doubling?

Bloodline Update: Death is a promise to all, and you have made your promise.

Reward: 9 body attributes, 4 mind attributes, 2 core attributes.

Bloodline Skill: Promise

The pain and pressure I was feeling from my chest were now gone. I got out of the bath; the water on my body dried immediately. I lay in bed.

Then another notification popped up.

Choose your class:

Essence Wielder: You have walked the path of essence. Essence is a part of you. Upgrade the quality of essence and its nature.

Deathbringer: Due to your bloodline, you have been given a class of death. Your bloodline will shape your path.

Destruction Mage: You specialize in destroying. With the combination of all three energies, you have created a skill that will cause worldwide destruction.

Righteous Knight: A righteous warrior who stands up for justice. With nimble movements, advanced alert systems, and protective barriers, you have proven your worth.

Canceller: There is an easy way to win battles: cancel your opponent's desire to fight. But this class is more than that.

Reaper: This class takes what it wants. You shall reap the life of your enemy and turn it into your own.

My class options were amazing. I had six options that reflected who I was and who I was going to be. Each one split me into six different parts.

Essence Wielder was basically what I was always doing: wielding essence. Essence was an amazing energy, and to specialize in that class meant there was more to it. But at this point, I realized I could already do what my essence class offered. And I was already in an essence build. This class had one major flaw: long-distance skills. I had tried using essence to extend from my body, but it was difficult and didn't pack a punch. That's why I created the black ore, which was amazing.

Death Warrior was a class created through my bloodline. But this class would affect me personally, and it seemed like my bloodline was aiming for the path of death. As much as my bloodline offered me many benefits, I didn't like it determining who I was going to be.

Destruction Mage was the combination of internal destruction and death skills. These two created something lethal to anything. I personally liked it, but hadn't I already created this skill? What more could Destruction Mage offer?

Righteous Knight summarized two of my main skills. It seemed to focus on protection.

Canceller seemed to be made entirely on my fire spiritual energy. It was cool and seemed to offer more.

Reaper was different. It seemed like a class that would give me the life of my enemy while I fought, basically making me immortal in battle. There had to be restrictions, but it was the most interesting class. I could potentially go crazy.

The last option was truly interesting. The whole reason I even picked the healing tent was because of that.

Reaper class has been chosen.

... skill has been created, attribute distribution has been decided, and level distribution has been changed.

Bloodline has affected class, Reaper class has been changed to Death Scavenger.

Skill, attributes distribution and level distribution have been recreated,

Congratulations you are one of the few who have unlocked class.

What happened in front of my eyes, were just amazing.

Congratulation: you can adjust your energy distribution:

I will my energy to stay the same

Level rewards:4+ Essence + 4 Mana+ 4 Spiritual energy

I didn't expect to get an increase in energy, this is interesting, this means that the higher in levels I travel, the stronger I become, and the more unstable I will be. Is there a way to stop that other than bloodline.

I took a deep breath, I was becoming stronger each day. But not strong enough, I have a feeling that I wasn't strong enough for what's coming.

I stepped outside of my tent it was mid-day, and it felt a bit chilly. I looked at the sky, and said "Winter is coming"

And then it hit me, I need my bear jacket, I am coming

Authors note: I tried to register for Discord. And I can say one thing. I hate the app with passion. It won't allow me to create an account. I will try later.

I will also post a character chapter tomorrow, with pictures: have a wonderful holiday.
