"May I have your approval?" she asked, spinning around to gauge the room's reaction.

 Jeff nodded and said, "Sure, go ahead!" After remaining silent for the duration of the conversation, the look on his face suggested he was not happy at all being left out.

Ronald and Lea Kuan saw how Jeff's face darkened and quickly found an excuse.

 "We're going to head down to check out the press conference downstairs and return shortly."

They both pivoted in the opposite direction and sauntered forward, leaving the others behind.

Said Ann, who was about to follow the Hospital Director.

"Sure thing. I'll text you all as soon as we're finished here. It shouldn't take too long." Ann said, still contemplating if she should follow the hospital director.
