Humbled

Gyro waited for the higher ups to come.

Suddenly, Gyro felt an immense power somewhere near him.

Looking to his side, Gyro sees a person who appeared to be a helpless old man, but was surprisingly fit and muscular for his age. He had a ponytail, a thick beard, and stretched earlobes with two piercings in both ears.

He was Isaac Netero, the 13th chairman of the hunter association and head of the exam committee.

Gyro could tell that he was much weaker than this seemingly helpless old man.

"What do we have here? You aren't half bad for a child." Netero said teasingly, "Wanna have some fun with me?"

Unwilling to make Chairman Netero angry Gyro decides not to make the obvious pedophile joke.

"It would be an honor to spar with the chairman of the hunter's association." Gyro responded wanting to see how strong he was in comparison to Netero

"Haha, it's been a while since I met a kid as eager as you." Netero says

"You'll win if you can land a hit on me" Netero says

'Netero might be extremely powerful but I am certain I could land a hit on him if I had all ten roses summoned' Gyro thought

"Sure, do you mind waiting just 10 minutes?" Gyro says

"Yeah, but why?" Netero says

"Don't you wanna see me in my strongest state, it takes a while to charge up." Gyro says

"Fine, the stronger you are the more fun it'll be." Netero says

"We should move somewhere sealed off from here; our battle could hurt these examinees" Gyro says

As Netero leads him to the site of the second phase; it was a tightly sealed dome with an area that encompassed over a kilometer

Gyro summons a Hellfire Rose; as the temperature increases, Netero looks at him in amusement.

Waiting for another minute to pass Gyro summons another and another, until he had all ten roses conjured.

The heat was now so unbearable that the entire room was on fire.

This was the first time Gyro summoned all 10 roses as he had never been in a fight that required him to fight to such extents.

"Are you ready, Boy?" Netero says

"Yes, Sir." Gyro responds

Gyro had a lot of respect for Netero somebody that would end his life for humanity.

'This fight might require me to use a fair bit of my power' Netero thought

"100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva" Netero shouts

Gyro attacks Netero with only 1 of his 10 roses leaving 9 for defense; this was so Gyro could test out his strength against Netero.

The rose traveled incredibly quickly , but before it reached Netero it was swatted like a bug by a giant palm made of light.

Seeing his hellfire rose disintegrate, Gyro was somewhat surprised; he knew that his Roses weren't invulnerable but how could they be destroyed this easily.

Summoning another one, Gyro attempts to attack Netero with all ten roses at once all from different directions.

With a simple prayer, Netero sends down palm strikes to all of the roses; Destroying 3 of them in the process.

Gyro couldn't believe that his power at max strength could be so easily countered.

With only seven roses, Gyro knew he couldn't hit Netero.

This time Gyro decides to make the rose much stronger by using half his remaining aura points to Summon another Rose, Gyro decides to ride the hellfire rose; this was Gyro's first time doing this, but thankfully his nen ability could not burn him as long as he had aura points left.

Flying in the air using the Hellfire Rose, Gyro decides to wait it out in hopes of summoning more Hellfire Roses.

"You're not bad, kid; but it's still 30 years too early for you to try and defeat me."

Unlike his bout with Killua and Gon, Netero was using his nen ability and was using a considerable amount of his strength.

Gyro decides to buy time by talking with the Old Man.

"You're incredibly strong, especially for a man your age." Gyro says in true admiration

"Don't think flattery will buy you any time." Netero says

Gyro had a trick up his sleeve, he had only been summoning his roses by his side; trying to make netero think he could only summon it somewhere incredibly close to him.

Attempting to divert Netero's attention, Gyro attacks Netero with all 8 of his roses, including the one he was on. Gyro was going to fight head on.

Netero raises his hands to his chest in a praying motion, palms then rain down on Gyro and his roses.

Attempting to dodge them, gyro somehow dodged a few of them until he was struck by one in the chest.

Gyro falls to the floor holding his chest while coughing up blood.

'Did I go too hard on him' Netero wonders believing he had won the fight.

All of a sudden, a rose appears right behind Netero aiming for him.

In less than a second, Netero put his hand in a prayer motion and said "First Hand".

Suddenly, A massive palm strike descends and destroys the rose.

'Even after all that I still couldn't hit him' Gyro thinks.

'He didn't even use his full power and he destroyed me, what about Meruem who was even stronger than Netero?' For the first time in Gyro's current life he felt weak.

"For a child your age to nearly hit me with a nen ability while I'm using my 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva is very impressive" Netero says

"Congratulations on becoming a hunter, I have high expectations of you." Netero says.

Still coughing up blood I ask Netero "Could you please get a doctor?"

"Oh right, I forgot about that" Netero responds

Dialing up beans he tells him to bring a doctor to check up on me.

'I have to get even stronger'
