First and Final Phase

Doors were suddenly shut and reinforced with iron gates in the room all the examinees were in.

"The first phase is starting, you'll have to stay awake in this room for an hour, if you get knocked out you will be disqualified " The first stage examiner explains

All of a sudden a strong pressure was exerted onto all of the examinees.

It felt like gravity was just amplified dozens of times over.

'This must be the examiner's nen ability, something similar to gravity manipulation, I don't know his nen ability's conditions but they must be pretty rough' Gyro thought.

Looking around, Gyro saw that only 7 others were still standing the rest were on the floor trying to not pass out.

'Looks like there are more nen users' Gyro thought somewhat excitedly

6 of the seven were barely standing but one of them was easily able to stand quite easily.

'That girl is likely a nen user' Gyro thought

'Why not flex on these poor chaps' Gyro thought smiling.

Gyro then gets into a push up position and starts working out, he was secretly laughing to himself.

"Is this bastard making fun of us, he's working out while we are on the floor barely holding on" Contestant 315 says

"You didn't see what he did to Tonpa for just talking to him, we should just leave him alone" another contestant says

Contestant 315 had reached the exam site after the altercation between Gyro and Tonpa, so he hadn't seen what happened

Intensifying his workout, Gyro started doing handstand pushups.

'This is pretty difficult, I'd imagine working out in such high gravity would enhance my physical growth.' Gyro thought

All of a sudden Gyro felt a drastic increase in gravity, Gyro could tell that the examiner had only increased the gravity for Gyro; Likely because he felt like Gyro was taking the exam too easily.

Channeling more of his nen, Gyro uses Ken to better handle the increased pressure, and continues to work out.

'Contestant 297 is pretty good, he seems very proficient in nen and is even able to workout while this much gravity is affecting him' The first phase examiner thinks.

The first phase examiner was a 1-star hunter called Allen; the only reason he wasn't a 2-star hunter was because he didn't train students.

Continuing to workout, Gyro looks around taking in what was happening around him.

'Seems like a lot of people are passing out from the increased gravity' Gyro thinks

'Would the exposure to a nen ability like this cause a person's nen to unlock?' Gyro wondered

'Unlikely, the reason people unlock their nen from exposure to Ren and nen is because their body gets shocked by the nen causing them to have a chance to unlock nen, with this nen ability the nen wouldn't enter a person's body it would instead create pressure on top of them forcing them down to their knees' Gyro thought.

Working out until the hour is complete, Gyro finally takes a breather as he feels the pressure exponentially decrease.

"From the original 396 candidates only 176 remain." The examiner announces

"I will now lead you to the second phase." The examiner says.

All of a sudden an idea hit Gyro.

'Am I an idiot? I should just knock them all out like Killua did that would let me immediately become a hunter' Gyro thought

All of a sudden, all the contestants suddenly felt extreme murderous intent.

They all tried to escape the exam site, but the way out was still locked.

Gyro started blitzing them, flicking each one in the head with his hellfire aura; As they all collapsed, Gyro finally reached the nen user.

Suddenly, Gyro appeared behind the nen user striking her with Ko. (Yes, I know this is the first female in the fic, and she's immediately dealt with.)

As he watched her collapse, Gyro raised his voice and said "Do I pass the exam?".

Allen responds telling him to wait as he talks to the higher ups.

Dialing a certain number, Allen hears the person on the other end pick up.

"A contestant knocked out everyone in the first phase. Should we make him a hunter?" Allen says already knowing the answer was yes.

The only reason he asked his higher ups was so he wouldn't get blamed if anything happened.

"How interesting, I'll come meet him myself." An old man's voice came out of the phone.

"Yes, Sir" Allen responded
