In the afternoon, the Ravenclaw and Slytherin students gathered for History of Magic class.

William, who had a science background in his previous life, usually loved history but found this class surprisingly dull, almost putting him to sleep.

Professor Binns, the ghost teacher, appeared out of nowhere, floating through the blackboard into the classroom, startling everyone with his sudden arrival.

"He's actually a ghost. If he popped up wearing a dress, it'd be as spooky as Samara Morgan," commented some muggle who has watched The Ring.

Professor Binns, despite being a ghostl, appeared even older than Dumbledore himself.

His wrinkled and puffy appearance made him seem more like a shriveled-up parchment, not round in any way, but despite his appearance, no one dared to cross him.

Throughout Hogwarts, various versions of legends and tales circulated about how Professor Binns came to be.

The story goes that when Professor Binns was alive, he simply forgot to take his body along one day and left it in an armchair by the staff lounge fireplace.

After that, he just carried on as if nothing had changed.

He didn't realized he was actually dead. He headed to his class as usual, teaching diligently without noticing his peculiar state.

This strange situation turned him into a sort of example for the other professors.

He became one of the top figures in the magic world, admired for his unwavering commitment to his job, even beyond life itself.

William found it tough to believe that even after Snape died, his spirit will linger on, haunting the basement classroom and still making life miserable for students.

He couldn't shake off his skepticism about the official story. To him, it felt like clear mistreatment.

It didn't make sense for someone, a ghost, to keep teaching endlessly without any break, pay, or even the need to eat.

The wizarding world could be pretty twisted!

Especially when Professor Binns droned on in his hypnotic tone about the clash between Lyra and Alister, the founders of elemental magic.

He felt an urgent need to rescue Professor Binns and get the school to replace him with a different teacher.

It turned out William wasn't the only one who felt that way.

Professor Binns spoke in a dull, monotone voice, almost like an ancient vacuum cleaner, lulling the entire class into a drowsy state.

Occasionally, students would briefly snap out of it, scribble down a name or date, then slip back into the half-asleep trance.

Gradually, Cho's head started to feel like she was nodding off like a chicken pecking at grains.

She found herself oddly captivated, even agreeing with Professor Binns' perspective.

Boba gazed at her for a long time, her paws left a scratch mark on her face, and she still didn't respond.

Boba swiped with his fluffy tail, and the textbook on the history of magic fell on the floor.

It was the textbook that Cho used to support her flat chest and prevented her body from lying on the table.

Without the support, her face slammed straight on the table.

The poor rabbit, who was peacefully munching on his carrots while lying on the table, got startled and smacked its face flat, rolling its eyes and fainting once more out of sheer fright.

Meanwhile, the Slytherin kids, determined to seek revenge for their Head of House, found their plans foiled.

They were too drowsy to execute anything! An inner ghost seemed to derail their scheme, and the only option was to give up and doze off.

However, despite the sleepy chaos, the most anticipated class remained Defense Against the Dark Arts on Tuesday mornings.

Defense Against the Dark Arts always held a special allure, and the ominous rumour of having a new professor each year added an element of mystery.

As the students gathered for Professor Tywin's first lecture of Defense Against the Dark Arts class, they found the room empty upon arrival.

Taking their seats, they retrieved their books, quills, and parchment, engaging in conversations while eagerly awaiting the arrival of Professor Tywin.

It was only when Tywin eventually strolled into the classroom that the chatter subsided.

Tywin worned a well-fitted robe, and his neatly groomed short blond hair presented a sharp contrast to Snape's usual appearance.

He entered the room with a subtle smile, not carrying any textbook, just a wand crafted from ebony wood.

A hush fell over the classroom as the young witches and wizards gazed intently at Professor Tywin.

He undeniably exuded an air of charm and charisma that captivated their attention.

Ah, that sound of squeaky chairs rubbing against the floor – William instantly recognized it as a Slytherin student.

In truth, there was a significant overlap between Ravenclaw and Slytherin courses compared to other houses.

The school tended to pair up two houses that shared a good rapport - the eagle with the snake, while the badger was often paired with the lion.

This bond often led to increased interactions and shared classes between Ravenclaw and Slytherin students.

This year, things were a bit different. William inadvertently caused harm to their beloved Slytherin head (Snape's accidental explosion), prompting some to seek retaliation.

The deliberate noise-making during the class was a petty move by the Slytherin students,

a small attempt at revenge against William. However, it didn't serve any real purpose other than to irritate people.

"Good morning, everyone," Professor Tywin greeted the class warmly. "I'm pleased to see that everyone has the textbook - 'Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Defense'."

"It's quite an ancient textbook, Hogwarts is using it for about 120 or 150 years, I can't recall the exact timeline," Professor Tywin remarked.

"The author, Professor Quentin Trimble, his portrait has adorned the headmaster's office wall for over a century," he continued.

"The fact that it's been used for so long indicates the usefulness of this textbook.

Although Professor Quentin Trimble himself might not agree with us.," he added with a hint of humor.

"Let's turn to the title page of the textbook, where you'll find a line of elegantly scripted words - 'Practice Prevails over Theory'," Professor Tywin explained.

"This implies that we'll have fewer theoretical classes and focus more on practical sessions."

"As Professor Snape used to say, 'I won't dwell too much on theory; I won't solely rely on textbooks.

That's what you're meant to grasp and master outside of class'," he added, emphasizing the importance of practical learning.

"This is something I'd like to emphasize as well," Professor Tywin continued before bursting into laughter.

"I'm aware that after our dear Professor Snape made that statement yesterday, he ended up in the school hospital.

So, I'll be extra cautious to avoid repeating the same mishaps," he remarked with a chuckle.

"And I must acknowledge Mr. Stark here; he truly exemplifies the traits of a Ravenclaw," Professor Tywin added,

William remained impassive, realizing that Professor Tywin had unintentionally stirred up more animosity towards him, evident from the focused gazes of all the Slytherins.

Professor Tywin descended from the platform and addressed the class in a clear voice, "As we all understand, Defense Against the Dark Arts is intended to teach us how to counter dark spells and malevolent creatures."

He paused, then questioned, "However, how could there be dark magic or malevolent creatures in a world of magic? Miss Cho Chang, I'd like to hear your response."

Cho rose from her seat, considering the question before responding, "Vampires."

"Indeed, vampires... dreadful magical beings originating from the Balkans.

I've had the fortune, or misfortune, to encounter a couple during my travels. They're quite challenging to handle."

"Muggles resort to using garlic and holy water for protection, but it's utterly useless against them," he added.

"Modern romantic literature often portrays vampires in a more appealing light, shaping them into handsome and long-lived creatures to suit the market demand," Professor Tywin remarked.

"This portrayal is undoubtedly misguided; take my word for it," he teased Cho with a wink.

"It's not wise to entertain romantic notions about vampires."

Cho blushed crimson in response.

William's thoughts drifted to Cedric, contemplating how Cedric probably wouldn't like Professor Tywin's style.

He even entertained the idea of him turning into a vampire just to bite Tywin.

Noticing her expression, it looked like instead of wanting to learn how to deal with vampires, she would rather want to learn more of Professor Tywin.

Professor Tywin, smiling warmly, replied, "Sure thing, if I can stick around for the third grade without any mishaps, I'll personally help you out, Miss Crouch."

His response drew laughter from the class. The rumour about the Defense Against the Dark Arts position was a common belief among everyone.

"Alright, five points to Ravenclaw," Professor Tywin announced.

It was no secret that he favored Ravenclaw House, considering he was once a student there. However, that had been over a decade ago.
