Salvador on the loose

Seeing how easy our first attack was, I was hopeful, we will get Salvador soon. Although the alphas of the packs we caught were not ready to tell us where to find Salvador, I was still hopeful. They were the loyal ones who despite he was the reason why they were driven from the southern hemisphere to the northern hemisphere. He must have something he had been using against them.

I knew I needed to find out what that was. They will help us get words out of their mouths. We returned to the fire pack, leaving Martins and his men as guards with them. I trusted him to do a good job. He is the ruthless alpha's, right-hand man. and is strong enough to withstand anything. Arden was there to help him too. Though we had plans to hand them over to the elders who had sent them to exile for a proper judgment, we needed to keep them safe until the right time.

Although Salvador won't be taken to the elders for judgment. They had given us the go-ahead to kill him when we lay hands on him, so he won't be spared. I never wanted to spare any of them though but Nolan insisted we hand them over and somewhat, I agreed. Talking of Nolan, I wondered if he has been avoiding me or maybe that's what I thought. I heard a knock on the door and I rushed to open it. I had thought it was Nolan. "Hi" Ella and Bella cooed

I sighed. "Are you expecting to see someone different?" Ella asked

"No?"

"Well, you look disappointed to see us"

"No. I just... Nevermind. Come in"

They entered and we sat down on the bed. "How are you feeling?" Ella asked. I furrowed my brows. "I mean after the first attack. Do you feel at ease? Even a bit"

I nodded. "I feel hopeful. Seeing how easy our first attack was, I do feel hopeful"

Bella held my hand. "I'm happy to hear that. I'm happy you followed Nolan's advice. I just hope you both will work out your difference and..."

"Is that not a mark on your neck?" Ella asked

I furrowed my brows. "Mark? No"

"There is a mark on your neck" Bella answered

I placed my hand on my neck, touching it. I groaned. I forgot about that already. "Did Nolan mark you?" Ella asked

"No. Maybe..."

"That's a sign of being marked. I have that on my neck too" Bella said touching hers

"Me too" Ella answered

I blinked. "Jack marked you?"

Ella blushed. "Yes"

"And you did not deem it fit to tell me? Huh?"

"I wanted to but you never gave me the chance"

"How long has it been?"

"Two months"

"Two months?" Bella and I chorused together

"You did not tell me either," Bella said

"I thought I did"

"Well, you did not. I told you about mine why did you not tell me?"

"Things haven't been good these past months. I couldn't say it out" Ella answered

"You knew about Bella being marked by Nigel?" I asked. Ella nodded. "How come I don't know?"

"You were blinded by what Nolan did to you that you care less about the rest of us. You left"

"I'm sorry. I couldn't stop myself. If I had stayed back, I would have told you he was the ruthless alpha before he did"

"You should have stayed back when we begged. You don't have to tell us. You should have talked to him instead" Ella said

"I wanted to but he avoided me at every chance he got"

"That's because he doesn't trust people easily. He has been like that ever since his parents die"

I sighed. "I'm sorry. I should have said something"

Bella held my hand. "It's not your fault. If he had stopped you, you would have stayed back"

"Can we stop talking about this?. I'm already getting teary" Ella whined and I smiled. "So, tell me. Or rather, tell us. Did he mark you?"

"Yes..." Ella shrieked

"Oh, mine"

I groaned. "It was a mistake"

"A mistake?" Bella asked. "Did he mark you against your will?"

"No"

"Then how is it a mistake?" Ella asked

I shrugged. "I don't know. I can't say"

Ella frowned. "It's a mistake but you don't know how?". I nodded. "That's strange"

I sighed. "H-he was drunk and then..."

"He marked you because he was drunk" Bella helped me finish my sentence and I nodded.

"He doesn't know about it?"

"I don't think so. Though he is been acting all strange"

"Did any other thing happen, that day?" Bella asked and I stared at her. "I mean did he?..."

I blinked and Ella screamed. "I guess he did"

I sighed. "You should tell him" Bella suggested

"I can't"

"You're his luna. He needs to know you are mated" Ella supported

I shook my head. "No. I won't tell him. And none of you should"

"But..."

"You can't. I will tell him when I am ready"

"What if you..."

"Trust me"

"Did you use pills? I mean..."

"It's my safe period. You don't have to worry"

"Olive..."

"Please, Bella. He can't find out. Not now. We need to focus on getting Salvador. That should be our priority"

Bella sighed. "If that's what you want I will keep it a secret"

"Ella?"

"Don't worry, I won't say it out"

I sighed. "Can we talk about something else?. I mean your main reason for coming here in the first place. Or are you here to ask me just about how I feel?

"Not really. Nolan asked us to come, talk to you"

I furrowed my brows. "Why?"

"You don't have to worry. It's about Salvador" Ella answered

"Why did he not come himself?"

"Work. He had some work to do with Nigel" Bella said

I doubted that was his reason. Maybe he is trying to avoid me as I thought. I tried to put aside, the feeling. "So, what did he say?"

"They have gotten Salvador's location," Ella said

"You should map out the plan and send it to him" Bella added

"He wants me to map out the plan?"

Ella nodded. "Nigel will brief you about the location when he gets back"

"Why is Nolan not coming instead," I said to myself aloud.

"Work I guess" Bella answered

"Huh?"

"We heard you," Ella said

"I will suggest you go talk to him"

"No. That won't be necessary. Can you guys leave, please? I will like to take a nap"

They stood up. "We will see you around," Bella said

"Let me know when Nigel gets back"

"Sure"

Nigel briefed me on the location of Salvador. He told me they had gone there to see what the place looked like. He gave me every information he thought to be useful. "I will need to go there myself" was my answer

"But you know Nolan won't let you" he answered

"He doesn't have to know about it"

"i..."

"You can go with me just in case"

He sighed. "Ok. We will go"

"Thank you" I cooed and went to get dressed. I finished up quickly, and we headed to the place together. When we got there, we stood some distance away.

"It's safer here," Nigel said

Seeing so many people on watch, I nodded in agreement and brought out my pen and jolting boom. "There are so many men on guard. We will need to be more men"

"Yeah"

"They seem to be well-trained warriors and will be good at the use of sword"

"How do you know that?" Nigel asked. I smiled and he muttered an oh. "Mountain packs are warriors"

"Nigel" I called. "Do you know why Nolan wants me to map out the plan instead of him?"

"No. Do you think there is a reason?"

I shrugged. "I don't know"

"Did anything happen between you two?"

I raised my brows. "Did he tell you anything?"

"No?"

"Then why did you ask?"

"He's been acting strangely for some days now. I have been meaning to ask. Did he sleep in your room, some days ago?. I couldn't find him in his room that day and he wouldn't tell me where he went to"

"H-he...". I pointed. "Look, that is Salvador right?" I asked, glad there was something to disrupt our discussion.

"Yes"

"Is face looks familiar but I don't know where I met him"

"At school. You were receiving a call when he passed you"

"I think I remember. That's like a year or two ago. I sure have good eyes"

"You won't believe, Nolan thought he was your dad"

"What?. My dad?"

He nodded. "You called him dad just when he moved closer to you and we all thought he was your dad until we realized you were actually on a phone call"

I laughed. "You guys are hilarious"

"We are?. See who is talking?. You used to be crazy back then in school"

"I wasn't"

"You were. I had thought you were some troublemaker, but it turn out you are a fun person to be with. I just hope you will return to be that way. I missed the real you. Everyone wants the old you, not this new you"

"I haven't changed that much"

"You have. After you found out about Nolan, you changed completely, coupled with the fact that you are seeking revenge. You've changed". I sighed and he continue. "I just hope you find peace after you get your revenge. I want you back. Nolan wants you too"

"He doesn't"

"He does. He is just like you. He doesn't know how to tell you how much he loves you. I know you love him too but..."

"Can we go home please"

"We..."

"Please"

"Sure"

On our way back home, Nigel's words kept ringing in my ear. Have I changed that much?. Have I allowed my quest for revenge to cloud my reason?. I was sure I haven't changed because of the revenge I seek but because Nolan lied to me and did not care. I am angry because after having fun with me, he still avoided me. I am angry because what we had meant a lot to me but means nothing to him!!. That's the reason I will keep changing!!!.

Despite having a lot of things to think of, I was able to come up with a plan. I showed it to them and they accepted it. We were to attack, the following day by noon. Everyone returned to their various activities while I returned to my room to ponder on the plan. Somewhat, I felt the plan might fail. I knew I wasn't thinking straight when I mapped out that plan. After Nigel and I had that conversation, I had been restless. And seeing Nolan act like he doesn't care, killed my spirit.

I feared we might not lay hands on Salvador. I don't know why but I could tell something was wrong with the plan I chose. My fear came to pass when we attacked and lost. Though nobody died, we could not get Salvador. He must have seen us and ran for his dear life.

I was furious I lost. Nolan made me lose him. If he had talked to me after that night, I wouldn't have made a mistake. If he had let us talk about it, we won't have been both worried which has affected me. Has he forgotten we've completed our mating process and whatever affects him, affects me?

Seeing Salvador run away, I couldn't hide my anger. I was losing it again. I took a few steps but someone held me. I turned to see Nolan. "Olive. You can't..."

"I can't what?. I can't go after him?"

"It's going to be risky"

I scoffed. "It's going to be risky? Huh?. Are you afraid I might get hurt and it will affect you?"

"I..."

"Spare me those words of yours. You've always thought about yourself"

"Olive..."

"Don't call me. Salvador is on the loose and I am going after him. Don't try to stop me". I took a few steps and turned. "If you love me and care so much about me as you claim. You will come with me"
