Chapter 1249 In Wakanda

In the heart of Africa, within the borders of a small nation called Wakanda, a casually dressed, handsome man of mixed heritage strolled leisurely through one of Wakanda's grand plazas, taking in the exotic ambiance of the place. 

This seemingly relaxed man was none other than Lin Rui, who had departed from the United States. At this moment, he appeared indistinguishable from the tourists from all over the world who roamed the Wakandan capital.

Lin Rui had been in Wakanda for half a day now, but he hadn't rushed to meet with Bucky. Instead, he took the time to explore the capital city. When he had left Bucky in Wakanda, Lin Rui had placed a special marker on him, giving him complete control over Bucky's whereabouts. 

After all, Bucky was akin to a living time bomb that could potentially disrupt the relationship between Iron Man and Captain America.

Despite the apparent tranquility on the surface of Wakanda, it left one perplexed. However, outsiders need not speculate about the impact of the unexpected death of a king on the nation. Lin Rui, on the other hand, knew why Wakanda appeared so calm.

"If Wakanda hadn't remained hidden in this land, with their technology, Earth might not be in the state it is today..." Lin Rui mused while sitting on a bench at the edge of the plaza, sipping on his juice and gazing at the surrounding architecture.

Despite being a small African nation, Wakanda had developed its technological civilization far beyond other advanced nations on Earth. Of course, Lin Rui knew that the Wakanda he saw now was merely a facade presented to deceive the world. 

The true Wakanda remained concealed within vast grasslands, where the Wakandan people guarded the vibranium, a miraculous metal capable of revolutionizing Earth's technology, and had developed technology far superior to the outside world using vibranium.

Although Lin Rui couldn't fathom why Wakanda's technological advancement had skyrocketed with the discovery of vibranium, it was an undeniable fact. Perhaps, apart from vibranium, Wakanda possessed other mysterious secrets.

"Vibranium... It's a very coveted substance. No wonder Wakanda sealed itself off from the world hundreds of years ago. If vibranium had been widely used, Earth might have been destroyed in the large-scale wars that took place earlier."

Lin Rui was well aware of the immense value of vibranium, as evidenced by Captain America Rogers' shield, which contained a trace of vibranium. Vibranium, as a unique metal, possessed the extraordinary ability to absorb and release vibrational energy, making it the most durable metal known today. 

Even a small piece of vibranium fetched a sky-high price on the black market, underscoring the wealth of Wakanda, which possessed vibranium mines.

However, despite possessing vibranium and developing technology surpassing that of other Earth nations, Wakanda sold vibranium discreetly to avoid unnecessary conflicts and remained hidden within its own territories. 

Besides the small nation of Wakanda known to the outside world, Earthlings were oblivious to the existence of a hidden, mystical, and powerful kingdom concealed within the African plains.

"It's been some time since the King of Wakanda was assassinated, and now it's time for the new Black Panther, T'Challa, to take the throne. As long as I follow the original storyline, there shouldn't be much for me to intervene in."

Due to Lin Rui's early arrangements, the plotline concerning Black Panther was set to occur earlier than originally intended, following the events of the superhero Civil War. However, due to certain special circumstances, well... due to Lin Rui's influence, the plot had undergone significant changes. 

Consequently, the superhero Civil War might never occur, yet the death of the Wakandan king at the hands of a terrorist attack would still ignite the Black Panther storyline.

Now, as Lin Rui sat on a sunny plaza bench, he contemplated whether he should intervene in the Black Panther's storyline. 

Even though Wakanda's technology exceeded that of the current Earth's widely accepted technology, Lin Rui believed that he was more than capable of handling any technological challenges with his current capabilities.

"If I want to obtain a substantial amount of vibranium or the heart-shaped herb that only each Black Panther can access, taking action to assist T'Challa seems like a method," Lin Rui continued to mutter to himself while seated on the bench. He pondered what he could obtain once the Black Panther's storyline began.

Lin Rui, who had a good understanding of the system by now, was confident that vibranium and the heart-shaped herb were both highly likely to trigger hidden quests. As for helping T'Challa ascend the throne, this was a matter that, according to the original plot, would naturally come to pass. 

Lin Rui saw no need to intervene unless there were significant changes in the storyline that prevented Black Panther from assuming the throne smoothly.

"Well, since I'm here, it's better to be safe and take a look. Otherwise, if the world plays some tricks on me, and T'Challa ends up getting killed, it won't be good."

With his final decision in mind, Lin Rui reached into his pocket and retrieved a communicator, then proceeded to send a message to Bucky. The easiest way to enter the Black Panther storyline was undoubtedly to reveal his identity as Phantom Knight, representing SHIELD and the Earth Federation, and arrange a meeting with T'Challa.

Considering the rapid development of Earth's power, Wakanda no longer had many advantages. If Phantom Knight came as a representative of SHIELD and the Earth Federation, T'Challa would surely receive him seriously. 

However, that approach would be too official, and when the time came for the storyline to unfold, it might not be easy to take action with Phantom Knight's force field.

Therefore, Lin Rui naturally chose another path: to leverage Bucky's connections. After hiding Bucky in Wakanda for so long, Lin Rui could finally put him to use. Perhaps, after this incident concluded, Bucky could return in a different capacity. By then, his close friend Rogers would undoubtedly be quite surprised.
