Chapter 1229 Loki's Departure

Loki's departure from Thor was swift. Just as he reached the edge of the Bifrost, Thor managed to grab hold of Loki's hand. Below them lay an endless waterfall plunging into the vertical abyss of the boundless cosmic sea. Without the protective energy of the Bifrost's teleportation, anyone falling would face dire consequences.

As the pivotal link connecting Asgard to the universe, the end of the Bifrost provided a direct exit from Asgard into the cosmos. 

However, without the Bifrost's protective teleportation energy, even god-like beings such as Thor and his comrades might face misfortune during their descent. Therefore, at this moment, Thor had no choice but to tightly grasp Loki's hand.

"Loki! Hold on tight, don't let go!" Thor couldn't help but shout as he saw Loki slipping slowly from his grasp.

Although Loki had spent his entire life pranking Thor and had even left him battered and bruised on numerous occasions, Loki was still Thor's brother.

Seeing Loki's expression, Thor was puzzled. How could Loki still be like this at this moment? Moreover, Loki didn't seem to want to be pulled up by Thor at all.

It seemed that Loki, who had successfully tricked Thor with his illusion, ultimately aimed to enter the Bifrost control center. Right now, he was probably engaged in a battle with the Phantom Knight who stood in his way.

As Thor tightly gripped the hammer of the God of Thunder and turned around, he saw two figures in the high sky outside the Bifrost control center colliding violently. 

Then, Loki, who had nearly brought tears to Thor's eyes moments ago, took advantage of the collision's force and flew directly into the Bifrost control room, eluding the others' attempts to stop him.

Thor, witnessing this scene, swung his hammer and rushed into the Bifrost control room. Between Thor's charge and Loki's entry, Phantom Knight, who had just clashed with Loki, had already rushed in ahead of him. Spider-Man and the others followed, but their expressions were rather strange.

As Thor entered the Bifrost control room, he saw that Loki had already activated the teleportation channel. However, he was blocked by Phantom Knight and had not yet entered the teleportation portal. As Thor approached, Loki was engaged in a fierce battle with Phantom Knight.

In a fierce clash, Phantom Knight was kicked away by Loki with great force. As Phantom Knight was sent flying, he happened to land in the direction Thor was rushing towards, allowing Thor to catch him with ease.

This brief act of catching Phantom Knight enabled Loki to approach the teleportation channel.

Glancing back at Thor, Loki's expression remained calm. However, this time, Thor did not see the usual disdain in Loki's eyes but rather a different, unreadable expression. The next moment, just as Thor released Phantom Knight to pounce at Loki again, Loki had already entered the teleportation channel and vanished in an instant.

Thor, who couldn't teleport alongside Loki, could only watch helplessly as the teleportation channel rapidly dissipated, and Loki left Asgard. Once again, Loki had outsmarted him.

"Damn it! Loki!!" Faced with the disappearing teleportation channel, Thor cursed helplessly.

The Bifrost only revealed the destination to the one who initiated the teleportation; it didn't retain any memory of the location. Therefore, Thor had no idea where Loki had been teleported to this time, and it was impossible to reopen the portal to pursue him.

Despite the chaos Loki had caused during his brief takeover of Asgard in the past month, Thor had hoped to see Loki imprisoned in the most secure cell in Asgard. Thor knew that releasing Loki would potentially lead to more trouble in the future, given Loki's mischievous nature.

"Phantom Knight! Are you okay?"

As Thor simmered in anger over Loki's escape, Spider-Man and the others rushed in and gathered around the Phantom Knight, expressing their concern. Lin Rui simply waved his hand silently. 

Although Loki had not held back in their fight just now, Lin Rui had grown significantly in strength, and being kicked in the chest had left him a bit breathless but otherwise unharmed.

"Phantom Knight, why did you..."

"Hush!"

Seeing that Lin Rui was unharmed, Peter tried to ask something quietly but was interrupted by Lin Rui. Lin Rui knew what Peter wanted to ask, but now was not the time for those questions.

"Phantom Knight, Loki has escaped! This time, I thank you all for your help; otherwise, who knows what kind of chaos Loki would have caused in Asgard!" While still intermittently frustrated over Loki's escape, Thor approached and spoke deeply to Lin Rui.
