He took everything from her yet she stayed until she felt that her soul was no longer alive. Each pain he caused chipped a little at her soul until there was nothing left to give. She was now an empty soul that was hanging on a thin thread. She was only breathing, but being alive never counted as living. It was time to let go. His Confession

Sarah felt secure in the warmth that surrounded her. Her body shook a little, as she stayed intact, afraid to open her eyes.

She kept them close, letting her mind take her back to the last memories she could recall. A slight shiver went through her again, as the words from that man rang in her ear. 

She tried to be rational and brave. Tried to control the erratic beating of her heart. Deep down, she was almost certain that she meant none of what he said. 

It was his way of retaliation after her taunting. She sighed, feeling pathetic. For how long was she going to crumble down every time some few words were said to her?

She was afraid that if she didn't face her past, she might one day fall into a trap. As a soldier, she should always be alert and conscious. 

Those were two things she wasn't at the moment. When her mind stopped wandering and focused on the warmth surrounding her, she froze.
