"What's happening?"

After making sure that Grandma Peng and Xiaohui we're both asleep, Meixiu quickly walks out of their house and sees a man standing beside an expensive car.

"RD, Mr. Gunner... He is dead" Meixiu looks at the man in confusion.

"What are you talking about? I talked to my father just yesterday night, we even planned on introducing him to my wife!" Meixiu's voice started to rise.

The man looks down at the floor.

"He did tell you about his mission today, right? They were ambushed, by the other gang" Meixiu's eyes started to get glossy.

"Get me to where my father is."

After talking, Meixiu quickly sat down in the backseat of the car as the guy drove away from their house.

Meixiu's phone lit up, making the girl look at who texted her.

Where are you? I didn't see you at your usual spot.

Baby, I just need to do something, go to sleep now.

"RD, we are here" as the man opened the door, Meixiu quickly walk out and go to the receptionist.

"I'm sorry but- Ms. Song" the nurse in charge of the hospital greeted and bow her head at the girl.

"Where's my father?"

"Uhh, Ms. Song..."

"I don't care what my father told you before he died, I just want to see his body!"

"Song Meixiu."

The said girl look at her back and saw an unknown man. Her face became blank before looking back at the nurse.

"Song Meixiu, that's your name right?" The unknown man asks.

"Ms. Song, the body of your father is at the morgue. Do you wanna see him?" The nurse asks carefully.

The nurse guide Meixiu to where her father is as the man the unknown man still follows behind her.

Meixiu approaches the body that the nurse pulls out and raises the white cloth to see Song Changpu, Meixiu's father looking so pale.

"Papa, wake up. It's time to meet my wife" Meixiu's tears walk out of her eyes to her father's pale face.

"Papa, you said you'll still teach me about this business that you walk into. What are you still doing there? Come on and teach me now, I'm sure Xiaohui can understand."

"Papa, Xiaohui is waiting for us. I'll introduce you now. I can disturb Xiaohui's sleep for you and let her scold me after you leave" Meixiu sobs, making the atmosphere around the two people inside become heavier.

"Song Meixiu" after a while, the unknown man called for Meixiu again, to which the girl replied with a look.

"My name is Jiang Yanlin, the lawyer of the Ren Shun clan" he introduces.

"Mr. Song agreed on you stopping the mafia as he knows you are against it. If you stop the mafia, he said you need to come with me and handle the Ren family."

"I won't stop the mafia..." Meixiu said. Yanlin looks at her confused.

"Pardon?"

"I won't stop the mafia until I find those who killed my father."

"Xiaohui, you are early tomorrow. Why are you still up?" Meixiu got shocked upon seeing her wife on the sofa.

"I was waiting for you, what did you do in the middle of the night?" Xiaohui stands up and eyed Meixiu, who's still in her attire.

"You meet with someone, didn't you? You smell like perfume" Xiaohui asked again.

Must be the smell of the car.

"Ah, I was-"

"Xiaohui, I ordered her to buy me crackers," Grandma Peng walked out of Xiaohui's bedroom in her pajamas.

"Grandma, you are still awake?" Meixiu's nervous face turned into a relief one and approaches Grandma Peng.

"Sorry Grandma, I didn't see the crackers you like," Meixiu said as Grandma Peng nodded and pat Meixiu's hand.

"Rest now ok? You can look for it tomorrow" Grandma Peng tapped Meixiu on her cheeks before walking inside the bedroom again.

"Go on, I'll prepare your pajamas," Xiaohui said as Meixiu nodded and walk inside the bathroom.

As soon as Meixiu entered, her tears fall as she hop inside the shower.

"Papa, I will avenge you ok? Wait for a while."

"Meixiu, I already put it on the sofa. Should I bring it inside?" Xiaohui knocks and said to Meixiu.

"Ah..." Meixiu clears her throat.

"I'll change inside, just put it on the chair and place it near the bathroom door," Meixiu said.

As soon as Meixiu finishes cleaning herself, she grabs her night clothing and walks out as she finishes wearing it.

She was shocked when she saw Xiaohui's back facing her as the girl is busy fixing something on the coffee table.

"Why are you still up?" Xiaohui looks at her back before stepping aside, making Meixiu see what she's up to.

"I'm just about to, I thought you'll come out later," Xiaohui said and walk inside the bedroom.

Meixiu eyed Xiaohui before putting her gaze on the table. She saw a mug and a note beside it.

She sat down, placed the towel on the side table, and took the note to her eyes.

"Your eyes are red. I realize you don't drink tea when I am making you one so I warm up milk for you."

Meixiu smiles before looking at the mug. She hummed and drank the milk happily.
