Chapter 5

Meixiu walks out of the market with plastic in her hands. She just finished shopping for food early in the morning as Xiaohui still needs to go to work. As she hops on her bicycle and cycles away, she saw a car following her behind. She watches closely before stopping, making the car stop as well.

As soon as the car hit the break, the backseat door opened with a familiar man walking toward her.

"Ms. Song" the man greeted and bow down in front of her.

"Jiang Yanlin? Am I right?" Yanlin smiles before putting his hand out for Meixiu to accept.

"I'm glad you remember me."

"I forgot things easily but you will be remembered as you tell the truth yesterday," Meixiu said, accepting the hand.

"What makes you come with me again?" Meixiu asks as she broke the handshake.

"About that, Master Ren wants to give you something..." Reaching for his briefcase, he opened it and it reveals a black and gold card.

Meixiu furrow her eyebrows as she saw what she thinks is an ordinary card.

"What's with this card then? What am I supposed to do?" Meixiu asks, grabbing the card from Yanlin's grip.

"Master Ren gave you pocket money inside, you won't be able to check the balance as it is limitless... Meaning, you won't see numbers."

"Pocket money? Is that what he calls for it? This is a big money for my wife!" Meixiu said, looking at Yanlin.

"Yes, Ms. Song. Master Ren also wants to give you this" Yanlin said, presenting a key in his hand.

"This is a key to a house, your secretary will tell you where this will lead you," Yanlin said to her.

"Secretary? Excuse me but I didn't hire nor did I have a company" Meixiu said, confused.

Yanlin smiled knowingly.

"Ms. Song, Master Ren bought the largest corporation in the whole Jiangqiao. You are the newest CEO!" Meixiu widens her eyes.

"What do you mean!? Do they release my name!?" Meixiu asks, anxiously.

Jiang Yanlin smiles before shaking his head, causing the anxious girl to huff a relief of sigh.

"Master Ren knows that if he releases it, you will be in trouble with his enemies so he decided to keep it lowkey."

"But the statement did say that Sapphire Group is owned by the Ren clan," Yanlin said.

Meixiu nodded, as she decided to compute her current wealth. If she is to continue the illegal stuff and won't come forward, she can live comfortably in life!

But if she is to stop it, she still will have another source of wealth.

If she's not mistaken, the Ren family makes billions every month. If she is to handle the whole family, she might end the generation wealth of the steps up early.

So maybe, the Master of the Ren clan decided that Meixiu can practice with a small company to their eyes.

They bought the whole Sapphire Group to see how good can she handle it. If she makes a mistake, she can be thrown out completely.

If that happens, others might get it.

But, she doesn't even know anyone who can get it. Maybe, her cousins.

But, as Jiang Yanlin told her, her father is an only child.

Upon seeing Meixiu's furrowed eyebrows. Yanlin clears his throat to get Meixiu's attention.

"Ms. Song, Master Ren doesn't want his sister to handle the whole family. He knows what is her intention that's why he decided to take time to find you."

After Yanlin finishes, he bows down and walks toward the car and it drove off.

Meixiu started her bicycle again and go to their house. She looks confused for a second upon seeing a scooter outside.

She park her bicycle on the side and walked in towards the kitchen.

"Meixiu."

"What's the food for today?" Xiaowen asks, sitting down on the sofa and opening the television.

"I plan on making Scallion Oil Pancake this breakfast" Meixiu replied.

"Didn't we eat that this week as well?" Xiaowen asks, frowning at Meixiu's reply.

"It's cheap and I want to treat Xiaohui to a good breakfast," Meixiu said as she started to make the said pancake.

"Ma, Meixiu's right, we should eat more cheap homemade food" Xiaohui walk out of the bedroom in her office attire.

"Meixiu, I will be going now. I can't eat because Grandpa suddenly called for a meeting" Meixiu washes her hands before walking towards Xiaohui.

"Do you want me to drop you off?"

"How are you going to drop me off? But anyway, I bought you the scooter outside since the bicycle you're using seems like it'll break down anytime so I hope you like it."

Xiaohui quickly walk out of the house as soon as she finished speaking. Meixiu looks at her disappearing figure in the window and smiles widely.

"Baby, I like whatever you buy for me."

"Continue on cooking! Xiaohui already left and you just said that! Be lucky she bought you a vehicle."

Grandpa Zheng looks around the table as they became quiet when he announced it.

"Grandpa, it's hard to get a contract in Sapphire Group, are you sure you want to give it a try?"

"Yeah, I heard that the Yang Group tried but they didn't succeed."

"If you can't do it then don't talk here! I am only talking to those who like to try it!" Grandpa Zheng said as he slams his hand on the table and stands up.

The people stops on talking making him clear his throat and sat back down.

"Qiang, you try it."

"What? I don't wanna be embarrassed!" Qiang said, he looks around before an idea popped in his head and pointed at someone.

"Why don't you let Xiaohui try it? She doesn't do much in the company!" Xiaohui looks up from the table to Qiang and her grandfather.

"Xiaohui, you do it. Ready yourself to go to Sapphire Group tomorrow with the presentation. We need to get at least 20 million contract."

"B-but, Grandpa..."

"What? You won't do it as well?"

"If Xiaohui did it, why don't we give her the director position?" Qiang said.

Xiaohui won't be able to do it. If what the others said were true, she won't be able to get at least a 10 million contract.

Even the Yang Group, which is lower than the Sapphire Group failed!

The Sapphire Group owns almost half of the 5-star hotels around Jiangqiao.

Being in partnership with the company is a great opportunity as you will earn hundred of millions per year. Even some people just like to apply and at least get a position in the company.

Some even envied the janitors as they earn hundreds per year just by cleaning the whole company.

The company did say that they value the cleanliness around them.

Sapphire Group was recently owned by the Ma clan, the richest family clan in the whole Jiangqiao. People were even shocked when the news was that Sapphire Group is already owned by the Ren clan of Xuyang.

Xiyang is the main land where every richest family is. Being the biggest clan of all the richest, the Ren family worries their partners as they still haven't revealed who will be the heir.

As they were only a few people who can handle the company. Some even want to do something that will lead to their downfall.

It is said that the Ren clan will vanish as soon as Ren Shun steps down from his throne.

So, what are his plans? Why is he suddenly coming towards Jiangqiao?
