Chapter 1

Klein POV

The eighth. That is the name of the place I am currently living, the outermost layer of the kingdom. Our kingdom has one special rule. You live to where your capabilities belong and eight being the last layer, is where losers live. You cannot visit other layers unless it is beneath yours so people living here are stuck in here unless you managed to pass a test to take you to next level.

A lot of people aspire for it because not only will your status levitate, you will also be given an accomudatum. Accomudatum is money given freely to you monthly depending on your rank. However it is only given to the other seven layers. The eighth, being the lowest layer in the kingdom isn't provided with it. To live and eat, you must work really hard or you will have nothing to eat.

People living here commonly work as a laborer, as I. The owners of course come from other levels.

"Klein come here, help me with this", Douglas, my coworker said as he attempt to carry 4 sacks of grain. Douglas is my closest friend here. He once lived in the capital but he was accused of treason. His master had chosen for him to live here in the eighth rather than a death sentence.
