Chapter 2

SIR THOMAS POV

I have just managed to sit after training Lady Jane when I saw Klein. He look so tired probably from overworking. He always does, even when he lives alone.

"Klein!" I called. Klein look at my direction and recognized me. He waves his right hand while he walks towards me so energetically and having a smile like a sun at noon. He is a kind man, someone I tend to look for.

"Sir Thomas, I see you have relaxed, has Lady Jane stopped this abusive training of hers?-Klein

I laughed, "I'm afraid not. It in fact intensifies now that the selection is in 2 weeks. We will travel in three days."

'Three days? Selection?'

'"Yes Klein, the capital has organized a selection. It is time for Prince Jasper to select for a wife and….

As I said this, I watch as Klein's eyes clouded before he dismissed it with a neutral face.

"I want you to come with us Klein".

"Why would I?" said Klein. "I'd rather stay in this place Sir, I'm afraid that my disposition is different from that of Lady Jane, I'm quite content staying here Sir Thomas", Klein replied.

"But Klein, Lady Jane needs a right hand. Every one at the selection are allowed one to assist them. They are also the one who become a chief attendant, the moment that Lady is selected. It is a great opportunity to you as well, to get out of this kind of life"

"Then why don't you do it sir!" Klein said rather indignantly.

"Because son, as you see I am old and you are way fitter than me. I will just hindrance her. But you can get her to a higher position. Please, for the sake of Lady Jane. She didn't deserve to be here Klein. She just made a mistake which as far as I am concerned is not really a mistake. Just think about it, but son, I expect you to help her. It is not like you can't come here to live if she succeeds".

"Just think about it".
