Milo cleaned glasses as the crowd migrated away from the bar and he didn’t have to serve drinks. Emily moved behind the counter, pretending to work but curiously looking towards the commotion.
“I didn’t know Liam was into performances. Going out there without practicing must be scary,” she said.
Milo couldn’t agree more. However, he noted that Liam didn’t look stressed out before and his boss seemed comfortable asking him at the last minute.
“Don’t worry, the freckled boy was recommended by the Forever studio, he’ll be fine. Now be a dear and prepare me two Old Fashioned,” their boss ordered with the voice of a man who already had a few drinks and certainly didn’t need any more. Emily complied.
