“Now I want to spend some time with you doing what you want.” Milo let his fingers press against the quickening pulse, not trying to be intimidating, but taking pleasure in the way Liam looked away with hesitant eyes anyway.

“You seem disturbingly pushy today,” Liam whined in a high-pitched voice.

Milo knew he used this tone to appeal to his conscience. He found no sympathy, yet found himself distracted by the proximity again, focusing on thick eyelashes in front of him and the pulse thrumming under his fingertips.

Milo noticed the shift in himself a little too late and at this point, he already lost. He knew from the way Liam looked up at him and smirked. The redhead licked his lips, which Milo followed dutifully and which broke his train of thoughts. His grip weakened and Liam was freed. He felt bitterness at losing, but the other quickly came to lick his wounds.

“I think your phone’s vibrating,” Liam said and Milo picked it up with a sour expression that only darkened.
