Story quest! Part-1

{Platform 9 3/4, Kings Cross Station, England}

{09:23 AM, 1st Sept, 1988}

Rigel stepped through the wall again, he had a feeling Dejavu as he looked around, the platform wasn't that crowded right now, there were just a couple of families that were hanging around and chatting. The reason they came early was to avoid getting crowded around because of Neville. While most wizards respectfully keep their distance, Lily doesn't like taking chances because an unwanted crowd could scare Rose and maybe even Daniel and Neville.

So here they were at Platform 9 3/4 almost an hour and a half before the train was supposed to leave. Rigel continued walking towards the train, the platform was almost empty so he wasn't worried that the rest of them won't be able to see where he was. The train looked and felt ancient, he looked around carefully and there was nothing special that popped at him, not that he was expecting a dungeon here anyway.

'Still, the portal behind me is another 'door to another world', it wouldn't have been soo bad to get access to another Dungeon to get another burst of EXP.'

The EXP thing has been bugging him recently, while he didn't concentrate on gaining levels before coming to Hogwarts as he wasted a lot of mana leveling up his Levitation charm to level 5, even doing that gave him 10,000 EXP. But looking at the exp counter next to his level plainly indicated that he needed to start grinding higher-level spells.

'At least I managed to get Levitation charm to level 5, it was worth it.'

--------------------------

[Levitation Charm(Active) Lv-Max (-/-)]

[The Levitation Charm, also known as the Leviosa Charm, is a fundamental spell in the wizarding world that allows objects to float and levitate in mid-air. It is one of the earliest spells taught to young witches and wizards. The spell enables the caster to exert control over an object's gravitational pull, lifting it off the ground and enabling it to hover or move as directed.]

[-1 Mana used per 10 kg per minute.]

[100% success rate with silent casting.]

[100% success rate when cast wandlessly.]

--------------------------

Level 5 was the max level a spell can reach, at least for the basic spell anyways, and even that was just pure guessing since he just had one sample. When the Levitation charm leveled up to Lvl 4, the success rate with silent casting changed to 100% while the success rate when cast wandlessly increased to 33%. Rigel was expecting the success rate to increase when the spell leveled up to 5, but he wasn't expecting complete control when cast wandlessly.

'While it is not worth leveling up every spell to Max level, having an attack and defense spell at Max as well would be nice for a start.'

It was fascinating to move things with just a thought, Rigel spent a whole minute pretending to be Magneto before he moved on and didn't use the spell in front of others. He had no problem being labeled a prodigy in magic, the game system kind of automatically made him one, but being able to cast a spell wandlessly with a simple thought was just a little too much. Not that it mattered if Sirius and the others know, but maybe after the summer or next year.

'It took me just 3 months to level up the most basic spell to this state so kudos I guess.'

Rigel boarded the train and looked for a compartment, the third one was free, he closed the curtains and lifted the trunk up, and tucked it in. He sat down on the seat by the window and closed his eyes as he leaned back. It was a little frustrating to both feel tired and refreshed at the same time, his body was fresh after a good sleep but he was tired of his monotonous life, the fight and the grudge.

'Status' Rigel thought as he looked at the screen that appeared in front of him, it was looking better after a three-month grind, and probably the only thing he was happy about.

...

For some reason, Rigel was able to learn Year 2 level spells with 10 WIS, but whenever he tries to learn spells meant for grade 3 or above he fails the WIS check even after getting his WIS to 25. After some research, Rigel found that 13 being a magical number also represents the age at which wizards' or witches' magic goes through some changes. For simplicity's sake, he just called it magical puberty part 1, because the same things happen again at age 17.

While it was fine and dandy, the problem appeared when even after going through the 20 and 25 thresholds for WIS, Rigel wasn't able to learn grade 3 level spells, more importantly, he was aiming to learn the Shield Charm next and grind that to MAX level for an instant wandless shield.

'Why on Merlin's name though was the most basic defensive shield only taught in the third year, that too would only be taught if they got a competent teacher, if everything goes according to canon we would be stuck with Quirrelmort.'

"Rigel you coming down?" Rigel opened his eyes to see Harry levitating his trunk up to the top shelf, his brows were frowning in concentration but he managed to slide his trunk in.

"You really are going to be like this every day?" Harry sat down in front of him with a determined expression on his face. It seems like after a month of dancing around the topic he was finally ready for a confrontation.

"You're gonna tell me what happened then?" Rigel also sat up straight.

"Why are you stuck at something like that, I told you we just talked about the party" Harry rolled his eyes again.

"And you don't at all looked like you had the weight of the whole world on your shoulders after that," Rigel leaned back again, disappointed that Harry was going to go around in circles again.

'Did Dumbledore talk about the prophecy or something.'

The silence lasted for a little bit before Harry sighed and flopped in his seat, he bit his lips and hesitated before he spoke softly, "Dumbledore told me that he never truly died..." Harry spoke.

'Wait what... he meant Voldemort right... that's it, why was he hiding something like that? I mean sure it is shocking to an 11 year old but, Harry should have told this to James and Lily by now.'

Rigel narrowed his eyes as he looked at him and asked, "You're talking about Voldemort?"

Harry didn't flinch just nodded before he looked up, his eyes were scanning Rigel's face which made him roll his eyes in annoyance, "And you didn't tell this to anyone, not Lily nor James, you just started training desperately for what, to fight against someone who could singlehandedly fight against fucking Dumbledore?"

"Language," Harry chided before he hesitated, he paused for a long time before he spoke, "You don't remember those days, I'm sorry I don't mean it like that... but, I remember, vaguely, everyone was scared, we were always coped up in our houses hiding. Daniel was just a year old when Voldemort died." Harry sat forward again as he explained, "Even after his death and several celebrations it was all gloomy, so many people had died, even Neville was left alone in the world. It wasn't until Rose was born that we started to feel normal, you know Mom wanted to name her Hope, but it was Dad who vetoed it because he felt that the name was too cliche..."

Harry chuckled slightly and Rigel was beginning to understand why everyone doted so much on the little brat. Rigel raised his hand slightly in front of him, Harry looked at him in confusion before Rigel flicked his finger up and Harry started floating.

...

'Well so much for keeping this a secret...'
