Kanna couldn't fathom why she had agreed to Kyle.
Perhaps she genuinely needed some Galleons, or perhaps it was because of Kyle's words—prove to everyone that you have the ability to survive.
In any case, Kanna agreed in a daze.
In the common room after dinner, Kyle, Cedric, and Kanna sat around a table, discussing tomorrow's business plan.
"In any case, Gryffindor has the Weasley brothers' help, so there shouldn't be any issues. The main focus now is Slytherin."
Kyle looked at Kanna and said, "So, tomorrow, find an opportunity to encounter that Ro... Ro something."
Kanna reminded in a hushed tone, "Rowle and Yaxley."
"Ah, right, those two. Find an opportunity to casually run into them and greet them."
Kyle thought for a moment and said, "The corridor on the first floor is good. If Hufflepuff and Slytherin are going to the Great Hall, they'll pass through there. It's normal to bump into them; just find a reason to walk with them."
"Mm-hmm." The young witch nodded while quickly taking notes, her expression quite serious.
Once she finished writing, Kyle continued, "I'll be ahead of you two. I'll complain to Cedric about the complicated castle layout and how easy it is to get lost. He'll then boast about his ordinary map."
"At that point, you should show disdain for us and take out the limited edition map."
"Disdain?" Kanna paused her feather quill, attempting a few expressions... and then Kyle gave up on the previous plan.
"Never mind, just take out the map and flaunt it to them. Tell them it's a limited edition that is not for sale to the public, and there are only ten copies."
"Remember this statement."
"If they ask you later, say you have connections to get these maps. If they want one, tell them you're willing to help for the sake of friendship."
"Alright." Kanna finished noting everything and silently memorized it.
At this point, Cedric curiously asked, "What if they don't ask?"
Kyle shrugged, "Sell it to someone else."
Turning ordinary merchandise into limited edition items was Kyle's plan from the beginning. After all, those pure-bloods liked things like this.
Adding Kanna just made everything more seamless.
Once Rowle and Yaxley got the map, they would undoubtedly show off. They would be the best advertisers.
If they didn't fall for it, they could revert to the initial plan.
Bring out a limited edition, distinguish it from the regular ones, and the Slytherins would come looking for it once they heard the news.
However, doing so would easily attract the professors' attention.
Ten Sickles might be fine, but five Galleons was not a small amount. When the time came, it was very likely that it would be banned before it could even be sold.
So, it was better to do it quietly. Even if they were discovered, it wouldn't matter much. After all, the Galleons were already in hand, how could they take it back?
Hufflepuff cared the least about house points.
After listening to Kyle's explanation, Cedric felt as if he had been enlightened.
Could it be done this way?
He knew that pure-blood families favored things different from ordinary products; otherwise, he wouldn't be gilding the parchments with gold edges.
However, his original pricing was just one Galleon.
Now, after Kyle raised it fivefold, it suddenly felt right.
Even if Slytherin's first-years found out, it didn't matter. What they truly needed was not the map, but the "limited edition."
It wasn't that pure-bloods were fools; they were just wealthy and had different pursuits.
Even he, himself had always wanted to change to a new Fwooper feather quill. Although it had no difference from a regular quill, it was beautiful. Holding it was pleasing to the eye, and he could write a few more lines on his assignments.
Cedric licked his lips and asked, "Kyle, are you sure it's only ten copies?"
"Yeah, just ten." Kyle nodded.
He had inquired; although Slytherin had thirteen freshmen, not all were wealthy pure-bloods. So, ten copies were just right. Those who didn't buy could at least have a decent excuse.
After settling this matter, Cedric discussed the Quidditch trials in the afternoon with Kyle.
As expected, Fred and George also joined the house team, taking the positions of Beaters.
In addition, a second-year witch named Alicia Spinnet became a reserve player.
"This Gryffindor team is definitely a formidable opponent." Cedric said seriously, "Their team is excellent. I've seen Alice's training, her performance is no worse than our Chaser, Matt Burlington. However, in Gryffindor, she can only be a substitute.
There is also Oliver Wood, his interception rate is the highest among the four Keepers. With him on the field, it's hard for us to gain an advantage."
"Is that so?" Kyle nonchalantly echoed, "Then you'll have to work hard."
No matter how strong Gryffindor was, he was just a first-year without a broomstick. He couldn't play on the field and could only shout encouragement during the matches.
Cedric didn't notice Kyle's lack of enthusiasm. He continued talking about Slytherin, with the focus on broomsticks this time.
A team with five Nimbus 1700 broomsticks had a significant advantage.
However, when he mentioned Ravenclaw, Cedric suddenly hesitated for a moment and then smoothly skipped over it.
"We must give our all in every match from now on; there can't be any negligence."
Cedric said seriously, "No one wants to end the semester with a third-place finish. For this reason, Harris even increased the collective training sessions from three times a week to five times."
When he reached this point, Cedric's voice unconsciously raised, but Kanna, sitting beside him, remained unaffected, still staring blankly at the parchment in her hands.
Whenever she thought about talking to someone tomorrow, she became extremely nervous. How could she pay attention to what Cedric was saying?
In fact, when Kyle discussed the specific plan just now, she had countless thoughts of quitting.
But every time the words "quit" reached her lips, a voice in her heart told her not to say it.
Kanna didn't know why she felt this way, but in the end, she chose the voice in her heart.
Not long after, Kyle and Cedric, yawning, returned to the dormitory.
In the common room, Kanna was left alone, continuously flipping through the parchment.
