The magic glasses finally reacted, but Jon was not so happy. Just by reading this sentence, he knew that this was not some simple magical item. The magical items left by legendary wizards like Rowena were not something Jon believed he could master and use right now. The medieval grammar and the use of runes were all knowledge he still needed to continue learning. He didn't expect that after all these years, he would still experience that challenging feeling of learning a new language.

Putting the glasses in his pocket, Jon felt the fading magical waves on them, furrowing his brows. He had a feeling that these glasses were not as simple as they seemed. However, he could buy some books on grammar when he got home, but he couldn't buy books for learning runes. His aunt and grandmother didn't want to bother, and his mother, who knew this kind of magic, was currently pregnant, so Jon couldn't keep bothering her. If only he could see the notes from Ravenclaw House.

"No, how could I forget this?"

Jon patted his head and reached out to touch the wall in front of him.

"I need to find a place to hide things."

After a moment, a door opened in front of Jon. Behind the door was a place he had always known about but had never visited, and there was even a Horcrux there. However, Jon didn't open this door for the sake of Ravenclaw's diadem; he was looking for the books and notes that previous students had left behind. With so many books, there must be one that suited him.

Jon crossed the threshold, and the door behind him closed automatically. This place was as big as a cathedral, and the surroundings looked like a city made up of thousands of items left behind by students who were no longer in this world. Jon wandered around, passing giant specimens and seeing a large mirror standing in a corner, covered with dark red silk, with only a corner exposed. Jon was about to step forward, but then he stopped. The Mirror of Erised was a very advanced magical object, but he didn't really want to see his own desires. Human desires were the ugliest things, and Jon didn't want to know what his desires truly were. After all, wasn't his goal clear enough?

Jon walked in another direction, his footsteps echoing in the maze of junk made up of bottles, hats, boxes, chairs, books, weapons, brooms, baseball bats, and so on.

"In any case, it's not here," Jon muttered to himself. "It's not here either."

He walked deeper into this labyrinth of miscellaneous items, with only the sound of his own breathing and footsteps in his ears, as if someone was following him.

The notes on the shelves were all about Transfiguration and spells, and Jon even found manuscripts of some dark magic experiments, but he couldn't find any notes about runes. How disliked was this course by the students?

After searching for a long time, Jon finally found only two old textbooks on runes, with some notes written in them. But as far as Jon could tell, they were barely of any use.

"Never mind, I'll stop looking."

After searching for so long, Jon's back was sore. Two books should be enough for him to get started on his own with Rune Studies. There would be other ways to learn things later on, and he could choose elective courses in his third year.

Time always passed quickly when he was focused. When Jon returned to his dormitory, it was already dawn.

"I always feel like there's not enough time..."

He hadn't even learned much yet, and a semester had passed in the blink of an eye.

After lying in bed for a while, Jon got up again. He was too awake to fall asleep.

As mentioned earlier, time passed quickly. In the blink of an eye, December arrived, and Jon's nighttime excursions were no longer limited to the castle. Hogwarts was so large, there were patrols inside the castle, but there were no guards outside. With the Invisibility Cloak and some careful spells, it was relatively safe. As long as he wrapped himself up tightly, the cold couldn't catch up to Jon.

Hagrid, seemed troubled recently. Hagrid didn't know why, but the unicorns living in the Forbidden Forest had been straying from the herd recently, and he had been patrolling every night.

Watching Hagrid pass by, Jon, concealed under the Invisibility Cloak, quietly walked in the opposite direction.

Jon was the mastermind behind the recent unicorn incidents, but it wasn't just for fun. The magical array that Helga had asked Jon to prepare required some precious magical materials to stabilize it, and everything else was easy to obtain, except for the final item: unicorn hair.

Jon had considered buying it, but the unicorn hair on the market came from deceased unicorns and couldn't meet Jon's requirements. It was clearly stated on the list that Helga gave Jon:

"Two hairs each from the foreheads and tails of three unicorns, for a total of twelve hairs."

Getting hair from live unicorns wasn't impossible, but after inquiring with a shady store in Knockturn Alley, Jon abandoned the idea entirely. Ten Galleons for one hair! He might as well rob Gringotts!

So, the financially strained Jon had no choice but to set his sights on the unicorn herd in the Forbidden Forest. He first followed one of Helga's descriptions to a secluded glen in the forest and dug up some tubers, which had no medicinal value but were a favorite of unicorns.

Helga was quite familiar with the Forbidden Forest of Hogwarts, and Jon didn't expend much effort to find these tubers in this primitive jungle. They were buried beneath rocks, making it difficult for the unicorns to retrieve them.

Jon used some tools to dig up six fist-sized tubers, added a bit of hallucinogenic herb to them, and then lured two unicorns to them in the past few days.

It was as if the unicorns were playing tricks on him. Every night, these two unicorns took turns being lured out by Jon and ate the carefully prepared tubers.

Today, Jon didn't plan to continue with his previous method. He intended to take the initiative and go to the unicorns' gathering place.

This gathering place was discovered by Jon while tracking the unicorns a few days ago. Every night, he spread the scent of tubers along the way to the gathering place, but the unicorns were not foolish; only those two were attracted.

There wasn't much tuber left to use, and at this rate, he would run out.

"It's you!" Jon said, looking at a lagging unicorn, and he gently waved his wand.
