Chapter 34: Fortunate meeting.

Liam quickly hid in the darker portion of the room where the moonlight didn't reach. The biggest flaw of the invisibility spell was that he had to hold his breath while using the spell. And he could barely hold his breath for more than a minute.

The time required to go back to his dormitory was very a lot more than a minute.

The footsteps were coming closer and closer, those were the footsteps of two people. Liam wondered, 'This is definitely not Filch, but who might be the people wandering in the night.'

Liam saw two very similar shadows coming from the door. He quickly used his spell to make himself invisible.

"Wow this place is very, very dusty." He sneezed, "I don't think people come here often." Fred exclaimed.

"You can come out now, we know you are here." George said in a bit loud voice.

Liam broke the spell and walked forward out of the darkness.

"Merlin's beard!! Where did you come from? ... You just walked out of the dark." George exclaimed looking at Liam who had appeared out of nowhere.

"Soo… what are you doing here… running around the castle at night? Were you interested in reading the books from the restricted section." Fred asked with a smiling face.

Liam looked at the two twins with a bit amusement, this was the first time he had actually met them in person and had a conversation.

"You two are Fred and George, Ron's brothers. What are you doing here? At such an hour." Liam asked a counter question.

"We were following you actually… to see what you were up to?" Fred replied.

Liam wondered. 'They were following me? … Oh I remember, they have the Marauder's Map. That explains it.'

Liam still pretended to not know, "How did you know that I sneaked out?"

"We have a…" Fred was going to spill the beans but George stopped him, "You tell us, how were you able to hide, you just appeared out of nowhere."

Liam understood this was a give and take situation, he tells them his method of sneaking around the castle and they will tell him their method. Thankfully Liam had previously learned many different camouflage spells one of which was hiding in the dark. It was a spell which could be used to hide in the dark but its requirements were more than the invisibility spell.

The spell can be only used to hide in the dark if even a little bit of light falls on you the spell will be broken. Liam found this spell and deemed it worthless but now it had a very good use.

"I used a camouflage spell to hide in the dark. I didn't want to get caught so I needed something to hide myself. Now tell me how did you know I was here?" Liam told them a half-truth. He wanted to make very good relations with the Weasley twins, he knew that these two are his golden ticket to becoming rich.

"Hmmm… very smart" Fred nodded in approval, "You are wasting your time here though, the books in the restricted area aren't that much good. You will be able to have access to them when you are in your fifth year. Or you could ask a professor for a book as well. I heard that you are close to many professors why didn't you just ask them? They would have agreed to your request."

"I didn't want to go through such a lengthy process to read a single book. I don't have the patience for such a thing." Liam replied.

George still was wondering something, "We were following you for a while but we still couldn't hear your footsteps, you were clearly not walking slowly."

"Oh that! I enchanted my boots to cancel the sound of my footstep." Liam said this like it was a very normal thing.

Fred exclaimed, "You did what!!... You enchanted your boots. This is something even a seventh year student wouldn't be able to do without apprenticing for an enchantment specialist wizard."

"I am not that good. The enchantment I did are temporary, they would last for five to six hours at least." Liam replied modestly not bragging about his skills.

"You are a very talented, did you enchant your glasses as well. They look like they are special." George asked.

"No, I borrowed these from a friend."

"We had been roaming around the castle for months but this is the first time we came here."

George and Fred started walking towards the mirror in the center of the room, they saw themselves wearing a brown suits, standing in front of their shop in Diagon alley. A huge crowd standing in front of them waiting for them to open the door of the shop so that they could buy stuff.

"Is this a mirror which shows the future?" Both the twins said in unison.

Liam looked at the twins and laughed a bit, 'Are all the Weasleys the same? Didn't Ron say the same statement when Harry showed him the mirror."

Both of them were looking at the mirror in daze, George said while looking in the mirror.

"We want to learn enchantments too. We are going to open a shop in Diagon alley for that we want to create our own products."

Liam looked at them smiling, "Such a wonderful idea you have. But don't tell me you are just going to have prank items in your shop do you."

Fred and George looked at Liam weirdly, 'How does he know that we are just going to sell prank items.'

Looking at the expressions Fred and George had Liam laughed, "Let me join you too. I don't doubt my talents to create magical items. I am pretty decent in enchanting I am confident that I will be able to make magical items as well. I learned to make permanent enchantments. You will just have to give me share of the products which I have made. I don't think of this as a bad deal. What do you say?"

"Liam you know, we aren't even sure to have a store of our own." Said Fred, which George continued, "Our mother is also against this idea she wants us to work in the ministry of magic as our father."

"You just have to show to your mother that you are talented in this. When she sees your talent she would definitely agree. Anyway you didn't tell me how you knew that I was here?"

Fred and George looked at each other nodding and then Fred pulled out a big piece of parchment from his back pocket.

"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."

The empty piece of map started to change.

Fred: "This is the secret to our success."

George: "This map shows everyone"

Fred: "Where they are what they are doing"

George: "Every minute of every day."

Liam looked at the map and exclaimed, "BRILLIANT."

Fred opened the map, to show Liam the Hogwarts Castle.

Liam saw all the students in the dormitory sleeping, the professors also sleeping. He tried to look what Quirrell was doing but he wasn't even in Hogwarts.

"Where is professor Quirrell?" Liam asked.

Fred: "He goes out of the castle in the afternoon and comebacks in the morning."

George: "He is a very odd professor, we have seen him talking to himself many times."

Liam notices Filch was on his watch wandering around the castle, "Filch is roaming around the castle. We better hurry back to the dormitory."

"Yeah its very late at night as well, also tomorrow is the match between Slytherin and Gryffindor we definitely don't want to miss that."

The twins went their way back to the Gryffindor dormitory and Liam went back to His Dormitory.

It was only when he reached back to his room that he realized that he didn't look in the mirror himself. He lied down on his bed with his tired body.

'There is always tomorrow, the mirror isn't going anywhere.'
