Inner Court
"Long Chen…could you possibly in the Elementary Realm?" Elder Wang lowered his voice and carefully asked.
"Yes, I am." Long Chen straightforwardly replied, while looking towards the array formation in confusion.
"This…this…I don't even know what to say anymore." Elder Wang stumbled on his words, as he looked wide-eyed at Long Chen.
"To be at the Elementary Realm at the age of 13, this is the first time I had ever seen someone of such talent." Elder Wang exclaimed with an unbelievable expression plastered on his face
"The Mortal Tier 11 Talent, is not that great, isn't it?" Elder Wang started to say, peering straight into Long Chen with deep, profound eyes.
Without waiting for a reply, he continued to say, "The array formation is only meant for Qi Refining cultivators and below to use. As for the Elementary Realm and above, it is not powerful enough to function. Most Outer Court Disciples are merely within the Qi Refining Realm, and we did not predict that they would actually be on in the Elementary Realm, especially a new disciple as that."
"With your cultivation talent, you are directly admitted to the Combat Department without needing a test!"
Elder Wang then raised his voice and announced, "Due to certain reasons, Long Chen directly passes the Promotion Test!"
His words caused an uproar to arise from the crowd, spreading as fast as a wildfire, and it was as loud as the roaring thunder.
"Long Chen directly passed! This is incredible!"
"Did you see that the array formation did not work on him just now? Why was it as such? Didn't it work for the rest of us?"
The disciples all pondered as they contemplated on this. Most of them were simply exclaiming in awe and respect.
For Long Chen to be able to directly pass without even undergoing the test must mean that he had some special hidden capabilities that they did not know off.
None of them were jeering or mocking him because he was granted a direct entrance. He was, after all, the number 1 within the Outer Court, and he did not get this label by sitting down and shaking his legs.
Although, however, they were a bit disappointed at not being able to find out his true battle prowess.
To be able to watch the number 1 within the Outer Court was surely the most entertaining and fascinating thing.
Some of the members from the Great Families who all possessed array formations, and knew of how they worked, had their expressions inexplicably changed, while their hearts were reeling in shock.
The reason why the array formation did not work because it could not accommodate Long Chen's cultivation, and this meant that Long Chen's current cultivation was at least in the Elementary Realm, and this was startling to the bones.
They, the members from the Great Families, who possessed both unordinary talent and abundant resources, could not compare to a single Long Chen who had appeared out of nowhere.
Knowing that Long Chen was already in the Elementary Realm slightly battered the innate pride ingrained in their bones, and replaced it with a determination and passion to improve.
They knew that Long Chen was no longer on the same stage as them anymore, so there were not even qualified to be jealous of him, and the best they could do was to try their best to follow in his footsteps.
"Wow! Brother Long Chen, you are already in the Elementary Realm!" Xiao Wan Wan exclaimed as Long Chen was returning back.
'Hehe, I must definitely catch up to you so that you won't leave me behind!" Xiao Wan Wan fisted her small hands in the air with determination glimmering in her eyes.
Long Chen lightly chuckled while ruffling her hair. Her current expression was far too adorable.
Feeling the sudden contact on her head, Xiao Wan Wan's face abruptly turned a few shades of fresh red, as she lowered her little head and incoherently mumbled to herself.
When everyone had completed the Promotion Test, Elder Wang called out for the list of names who passed to gather.
The disciples then separated into two groups.
Those who passed were all bubbly and cheerful, with smiles adorned on their faces, while those who failed were downcast and disheartened, as they looked towards the other group in envy.
Elder Wang looked across the group who passed, and after nodding his head, he waved his hands, "Follow me."
They went out of the test area and back into the hall, where they promptly followed behind Elder Wang's footsteps.
After a while, Elder Wang finally stopped, and they were greeted with a magnificent view.
Beautiful flowers of various colors bloomed throughout the area, filling the air with a fresh flowery scent. There was a rainbow hung up on the sky, shimmering with light and brilliance, showering the land with a glorious splendor.
They could see purple robe disciples walking about and laughing occasionally, with a hint of blue robed disciples mixed within.
"This is the Inner Court. The Inner Court is very different from the Outer Court. The Outer Court is just a beginning, while the Inner Court is where you path truly starts in. "Elder Wang gestured his hands as he began to speak.
"The resources here is many times more abundant than in the Outer Court. Likewise, the competition for these resources is also many times more intense."
"To let you experience and understand the intensity of the competition here, as well as to make you adapt to this place, we will be holding a Hunting competition a month from now, along with the other Inner Court disciples."
Elder Wang then brought the group towards another area.
"This will be where you are living in in the future. The only thing different is that the houses here will be allocated to you, and not fought for. This is the only leeway that we will give to you."
After he had said that, Elder Wang gave a bunch of tokens to every one of them, each ingrained with the person's names.
"This will be your own personal token which will identify you. You need this token with you when you collect your new robes and cultivation resources."
"Since I have given you all that you needed, you are off to go on by yourself. I am not your personal helper, and I will not give you all the information you need about the Inner Sect." Elder Wang put on a stern face as he said.
As the disciples were all leaving to their courtyards, Elder Wang called out to Long Chen, "If you need any help within the Inner Sect, you can always call me."
"Thank you, Elder Wang." Long Chen smiled as he cupped his fists and slightly bowed.
"There is no need to be so polite. The Inner Court is not as simple as you think, and if you meet with any problems, you just need to tell them my name. I may not be the most powerful, but my words still hold some weight around here." Elder Wang offered while lightly chuckling.
Seeing a genius like Long Chen, Elder Wang obviously wanted to build a good connection with him.
After Long Chen thanked him yet again and exchanged a few pleasantries, Elder Wang then left.
Entering his courtyard, he clucked his tongue in satisfaction, before he went along with Xiao Wan Wan and Murong Xuan for a tour around the Inner Court.
Xiao Wan Wan and Murong Xuan apparently had quite an influence within their families, as a few members of their family, who were Inner Court disciples, offered to take them around the Inner Court.
When the tour was done, Long Chen went back into his courtyard to digest the information within his mind.
There are quite a lot of fascinating things in the Inner Court, such as the introduction of Contribution points.
Contribution points were gained by contributing to the Sect. One way to earn Contribution points was to complete missions.
These missions could be posted by either the Sect itself, or the disciples of the Sect. They were all displayed at the mission hall, where Inner Court disciples can choose which mission they wanted to undertake, and during completion, they would be rewarded with Contribution points.
Each Inner Court Disciple was required to complete one mission every month, as part of the rules.
As for the use of Contribution Points, they could be used to buy items from the Sect, such as weapons or pills, and even herbs.
