An unexpected turn of events...

The women returned to their seats. The same could be said for Sophie who was reluctant.

"Honestly I don't know if it's just fate but you sure a trouble magnet." Sabina said smiling.

Some of the women had refused to leave but later their 'husbands' took them away. This was not with out cursing Karl. He was 'helpless'. He couldn't be blamed.

These women meant trouble. He had skillfully shut their requests down.

"They sure utilise every chance they get to entertain themselves. You could have accepted some. They were sure interested." Naida said.

This earned her a weird look from him.

"Are you for real. I came with you guys so it's in my best interest to think about you before them. Don't quote me wrong, I don't want to be eaten by a bunch of hungry women."

It didn't take long for a group of people to come upstage.

The moment they appeared, everyone turned their eyes towards them.

The noticeable thing about them was their skin which was very pale. They had crimson eyes and black hair. They were an elder couple and a young man who had some of their features.

"Thanks for coming here Ladies and Gentlemen. Our Walker family welcomes you all. Am glad you have decided to attend my son's birthday. This is of great importance to our family and some of you." The man, Jason's father said. His charm attracted attention making every word of his sink deep in their minds.

"Since he is the sole heir of my family, he will surely be introduced to family businesses as he has already reached age. I will ask for guidance from you seniors so that you can 'guide' him. This is also to increase the bond in our businesses."

It didn't take a genius more to know this old man's intentions. He was using the birthday party to increase his family's influence and partners.

Aina chuckled. She turned towards Adriana who seemed indifferent.

"Though I hate this political thing, he sure made a smart move." She said. "But..."

"This is not enough. He will need morethan that to reach the top. It isn't about just influence but absolute power." Adriana said softly.

Aina glanced in a distance. She had spotted 'him' but she had no choice except remaining in her place.

Adriana and Yuki had also noticed her glances at the silver haired man. They had to admit he was very handsome. But that was not enough to get their attention.

But as they looked at him, more and more beautiful women approached him. They chatted for a while. This slightly caught their interest. He sure had high charisma.

"Aina do you know him. He sure is a eye candy now." Yuki asked curiously. She had a slight desire to approach and see him up close but she decided against it.

"Yeah, his my classmate at University. Don't tell me you are interested sister Yuki." Aina couldn't help but ask.

"Maybe, maybe not who knows. This should be yours to answer." Yuki smiled.

"Men are sure jealous they can't wait to plot against him. He might 'accidentally' die in an 'accident'." Adriana said.

"I don't think that will happen. He is very smart for his own good." Aina said.

Jason turned towards his father who gestured him to approach. His mother gave him a reassuring smile.

"Thanks for attending my birthday Ladies and Gentlemen. Am Jason Walker. My dear family is really grateful for your love and support. Please enjoy." He turned around. They went to meet some of the guests.

Soft music was played. It was now time for people to move around.

A man with a strong build walked up to the group. Everyone unconsciously stepped aside. He went straight to their table. His gaze fixed on Sheila.

"Long time no see Sheila. Am surprised to see you here." He said with a smile. He turned to her sisters. "How are you doing guys?"

"Long time indeed. I thought you were already dead. The world is really unfair you know."

Sheila smiled coldly.

"Don't make a fuss here. My proposal is still in effect why don't you think about it." Brandon asked calmly. He had noticed a silver haired man but ignored him.

"In your dreams. Just scrum already." She said flatly.

"I won't give up on you anytime soon. You are the woman I want to make my woman. I will be waiting." Brandon said. He glanced at Karl and left.

"He sure is arrogant. He doesn't understand the difference of a mountain and a hill." Naira spoke in distan.

"He is just one of the many who want to disturb our peace." Sheila said softly. She could already see others eyeing them like their favourite candy.

"Why would you attend if its so annoying?" He couldn't help but ask.

"Well, that old vampire already requested our presence and did it 'handsomely' so naturally we wouldn't agree but ooh well its been long since we last hanged out. Now you get it. Simple right." Naida replied.

He just nodded as he knew they had their own reasons.

Drinks were served. He picked up some expensive wine. It was really tasty. They also followed suit.

They limited their powers. They wanted to get slightly drunk. At their power margin it was impossible to get drunk without restricting their powers.

As music rang out, they started getting slightly drunk. Silivia stood up. She approached him.

He stood up following her gesture. They headed for the floor. Couples could be seen dancing.

They walked up. She turned around.

"You sure about it?" He asked looking into her blue eyes.

"Yeah am sure. Let's start already." Her soothing voice rang out softly.

He pulled her wait towards him. Her back arched. He leaned forward. She raised her long leg slightly.

He rotated her and she spinned. They started moving with complex patterns. Their footwork was really good.

Everyone couldn't help but look at them in surprise. They danced in sync. They appeared really attractive in whatever they did.

Sheila couldn't help but flash a smile. The others were also pleased.

"No matter how old one is some things can't be avoided."

Aina whose gaze had been on him was stunned. That woman was by no means ordinary. She was greatly respected by supernatural creatures though very few knew of their real identity.

Those Phoenixs were pretty mysterious and powerful. Their influence was spread in various parts of the world.

Few knew who they were in person. They most of the times disguised themselves. But as a potential heiress of her family, she came to learn about them though with great difficulty.

'How did he come to know them? They all seem carefree about it. Those women never associate with men easily.'

She was brought out of her thoughts by three guys. These were none other than Steve, Shaden and Richard.

"Long time no see Adriana. Care to have a dance with me." Richard said. Confidence oozing through him like a tide.

"I am not interested. There are many noble women around single. Am sure they won't disappoint you." Adriana said flatly.

"Don't be cold now Adriana. Its not like you will lose anything. And there is no one in my eyes other than you." He insisted.

She felt like punching this guy but she had to keep up the 'image' of a noble lady.

Yuki flashed a smile. This was naturally expected. He sure never gives up for many years even after getting rejected over and over.
