Chapter -4: Skull Mercenary (3)

The sun had only just risen when Adair entered the tavern. Yog wasn't there yet.

The barkeeper looked worried. Then she saw the man. He was big and wore a white armor with golden emblems. 

"Are you Miss Adair?" the man asked.

She nodded.

"Please follow me! I'm a knight of the royals army of King Ethel! My name is Audrey." 

The man had tanned skin and was big and muscular. He was long black hair and held a sword in his hand. 

"Why?" Adair asked.

"I've heard you are planning to kill the king! So please follow me!" he said, raising his sword.

"No!" Adair replied.

The man grinned. Then he swung his sword through the air. Adair dodged it. She tried to flee but the man blocked the way.

'Shit! What now?' she thought. 

In that second a hand grabbed the sword of the night. It belonged to an even bigger man. He was wearing a long coat and had a creepy smile on his face.

He snatched the sword out of the hand and rammed it into the heart of the knight. Even though he was wearing a armor, the man just cut through it. 

He was a monster. How was he so strong.

The man turned around and threw the sword, which was bent and covered in blood on the floor next to Adair.

"Next time, you should scream out that loud that you want to kill the king!" he turned around and walked away.

"Hey! Who are you!? And why did you save me?!" Adair shouted.

He turned around. "I just love killing people." he giggled.

Then he dissapeared out of the door.

Adair stood up and took the sword. Then she sat to the counter and waited for Yog.

It took around half an hour until Yog finally arrived.

He was holding a sword and looked ready to go. 

"Do you have a horse?" he asked.

Adair nodded.

They left the tavern.
