NEXT MORNING....

Nolan woke up and found Alina sleeping next to him on the bed.

He smiled as he had flashes of last night.

FLASHBACK***

After their passionate kiss. Nolan winced.

"Ah!" He winced playfully holding his stomach.

"I'm sorry Nolan. Does it hurt so much? I'm sorry" Alina panicked as she moved away from him.

Nolan laughed on seeing her reaction.

"I was only playing around but it hurts a little though" Nolan said with a smile as he looked at his stomach.

"Nolan, I don't think if it's too late but can I be your girlfriend?" Alina asked softly and Nolan raised his head up in shock.

"I heard you correctly right?" Nolan asked still so surprised.

"Of course, I don't joke around with things like that so what's your answer? Can I be your girlfriend?" Alina asked making cute eyes and Nolan nodded continuously which made Alina crack up.

She laughed.

"Alina be my girlfriend instead, you shouldn't be asking me a question like that. I've been dying to hear those words from you. Does this mean you've agreed to officially be my girlfriend?" Nolan asked excitedly and Alina hugged him.

"Of course, let's love each other unconditionally. I want to give myself a chance to experience what love truly is" Alina smiled and she had a glance at her wristwatch.

"Oh no, I have to go now. I can't allow someone else to see me in here" Alina gasped and broke out of the hug.

"What are you saying Alina? You only just got here, why are you leaving so soon?" Nolan asked curiously.

"I got orders from the director. I shouldn't be here and that's his orders. You're being heavenly guarded right now so the nurses are thoroughly checked" Alina informed.

"It's just the director's orders. I thought it was from my uncle. Stay with me tonight Alina. I still need to be checked up on and it's time to dress my injury" Nolan said with a sad face.

Alina exhaled tiredly then she removed Nolan's shirt.

"You were bleeding, why didn't you say so? I can't believe I forced you into stressing yourself" Alina nagged as she removed the dressing on the injury and put on her mask as she dresses the injury.

FLASHBACK ENDS****

Nolan sat up and he placed his hands on his stomach.

Wow, this is amazing. I don't feel much pain anymore. What happened to me? I don't usually heal so fast. Nolan questioned in his head in shock and his eyes landed on Alina who was fast asleep.

He smiled.

"I guess happiness contributes to quick recovery" Nolan whispered.

He slowly got out of the bed.

It's time to settle some scores. Nolan said in his head then put on his jacket that was on the couch.

He left the room without Alina's notice.

Nolan was heading out of the VIP lobby when he bumped into Lilian.

"Baby, is this you?" Lilian asked in shock and she hugged him tight.

"Lilian, where are you headed so early in the morning?" Nolan asked curiously as he broke the hug.

"I was heading to your room. The chief director placed a strict order that no one is allowed to come visit you so I thought of coming back today before the security becomes tight again. I'm so glad you're fine baby. I was worried all night, I couldn't sleep a wink" Lilian complained as she held Nolan's hand.

"I'm sorry, I made you so worried" Nolan said without looking at her.

"Baby, is everything okay? You don't seem to be yourself this morning"

"Am I supposed to be okay? I just escaped death. Someone's trying to put an to my life, am I supposed to be okay Lilian" Nolan questioned with a frown.

"Of course you're not supposed to be okay but don't get angry so much, you still need to recover. I filed a lawsuit against the accident at the police station, they're looking into it right now. The culprit must be around" Lilian informed and Nolan looked at her.

"I love it that you care about me a lot but in times like this, you should leave it for me to handle because I know exactly who did this to me? It was a threat and the culprit behind it has no intentions of hiding his identity so drop the lawsuit. It's a fight, I will have to fight alone" Nolan said and walked away.

"Nolan, where are you going to? You're not allowed to move out of your bed yet?" Lilian reminded but he gave her deaf ears.

Nolan got into the elevator then down to the director's office floor.

Nolan was about going into the office when his uncle dragged him back.

"Come with me" He said and dragged Nolan with him back to the elevator.

"Uncle, what are you doing here? Isn't it a bit too early for you to come visit the hospital?" Nolan asked as they got into the elevator.

"What are you doing out here as well? Have you forgotten you're a patient or should I remind you by pressing hard on your injury" His uncle said seriously.

The elevator danged open as they got to the VIP floor.

"Uncle, the director had a hand in what happened to me. He threatened me" Nolan said seriously.

"Do you have any concrete evidence that he has a hand in what happened to you?" He asked seriously.

"I don't have any but I don't need any to have a word fight with him. I need to tell him straight to his face that I'm not afraid of him. I don't care if he sends thousands of his men to come attack me but I'm not backing down from this fight that easily" Nolan said furiously and his uncle slapped him hard across the face.

"Let's go inside" The chief director said as they walked to Nolan's VIP room.

Nolan held his cheeks in shock as he failed to understand why his uncle did that.

They went into the room and luckily, Alina have left the room already.

"Uncle, what was the slap for?" Nolan asked in shock and his uncle walked to him.

"Mr Kwon, hurry up. Get me the ice bag from the fridge" The chief director said worriedly as he helped Nolan sit down.

Mr Kwon rushed to the fridge and brought the ice bag.

"Uncle" Nolan called out as his uncle rubbed his cheeks.

"I'm sorry Nolan. I'm so sorry. I had no intentions of hitting you but it's all for a show" The chief director said as he placed it on Nolan's cheeks.

"Show? What show uncle?"

"He has to let his guard down. I get your point Nolan but you've lost this fight so you need to retreat. In the next conference meeting none of the board members will listen or find your words encouraging or enticing. The director has a lot of people backing him and this incident of yours is a conspiracy. They won't allow you win"

"This is your hospital uncle but why is it so hard for you to pass it on to me. I wouldn't be going through this if you hadn't made that statement about letting the board members choose their next president" Nolan said seriously.

"It's all politics Nolan abs you're quite young to understand the ways of the old men. I think you should let go of your ambitions right now. You can't use up all of your youthful age to fight on for the hospital" His uncle said and pursed as he saw the confused look on Nolan's face.

"The director doesn't want to be president either, he's only fighting for an upper person so why waste up all your energy on old men. Leave this fight to me, your old man will handle it and I'm not dying anytime soon so why are you so worried. You should spend times like this on your love life, you should be planning on how to get yourself a wife and make babies not all this. Your mother is already so worried about you, please let's not endanger your life because of this. Let's fight again when they've let their guard down" He added with a smile.

Nolan exhaled and nodded positively.

"I will listen to you, uncle. I shouldn't put my life on the line when I'm not fully ready yet" Nolan concurred.

"But how are you feeling now? Don't worry, I will get back at the director for making you go through this. Mr Kwon, can you send the director some surprise package. He must be so eager to see it" The chief director said with a vicious smile.

"Uncle what surprise?"

"You will hear of it soon but it's something you would smile about. Nolan, do you have any plans for the week?"

"Emm... I think bed rest"

"How about you go on a trip with your girlfriend? I heard she agreed to be your girlfriend yesterday" The chief director with a wide smile.

Nolan looked around the room and he spotted the CCTV camera placed at a corner in the room.

"Uncle!" Nolan screamed covering his face.

"The enemy is close by, I couldn't be anymore careful"

Alina panted about worriedly.

What on earth did he disappear to? The doctor clearly said, he isn't fit to leave his room yet. Alina said in her head worriedly.

Her phone started ringing.

"Yes, Alina speaking" She said over the phone without looking at the caller.

"Thank you for last night, Alina. Secretary Park told me everything" falcon said over the phone.

"Falcon, how are you feeling now? You don't feel chills anymore right?" Alina asked worriedly.

"I'm fine all thanks to you. I'm sorry for last night dinner. I really wanted to have dinner with you" Falcon said with a sad smile.

"You can make up for it some other time, I don't mind" Alina said with a smile and she sighted Nolan from afar as he signalled her to come.

"Falcon, I have to go now. I will call you when I'm doing with my work, bye and please look after yourself. Stay away from alcohol for the time being if possible" Alina advised then hung up.

She ran over to Nolan.

"Nolan what are you doing out here? You should be in your room resting" Alina nagged.

"Is that all I get for sneaking out to come see my girlfriend? This is our first day as a couple, remember" Nolan pouted and Alina blushed hard.

"Who said I'm your girlfriend?" Alina asked looking away and Nolan embraced her warmly.

"Aren't you?" He asked and Alina smiled.

"Of course, I'm your girlfriend but we shouldn't do this here. People are watching" Alina said and broke the hug.

"It's so hard having a girlfriend at your workplace. You can't even hug her the way you want. Should I just transfer to some other hospital?" Nolan asked acting all cute and Alina boost into laughter.

"Come with me" Alina said as she held Nolan's hand and they got into the elevator.

"Where are we going?"

"Your room, of course. You need to rest" Alina said and Nolan pouted.

They got out of the elevator then straight to Nolan's room.

Nolan shut the door and hugged Alina from behind as he placed his head on her shoulders with his hands wrapped around her waist.

"I feel like this hug should never come to an end. I didn't see you for few hours and it felt like ages. Alina, how do I survive now? I don't think I can be able to stay away from you even for a second" Nolan said softly.

"Me too" Alina whispered and Nolan turned her around.

"My uncle actually gave you some free time to play around with me. He offered you some days off" Nolan informed and a wide smile appeared on her lips.

"Really? How many days off?" Alina asked excitedly and Nolan counted with his fingers.

"A month since you've never asked for a leave ever since you started working here" Nolan informed and Alina jumped on him.

"Thank you so much president. I'm so happy" Alina screamed on the top of her voice.

"Ahhh," Nolan winced silently and Alina got down immediately.

"Sweetie let's go a trip" Alina gasped.

"I had same thought" Nolan smiled.

"But did you just call me sweetie? Please say it again" Nolan said playfully and Alina ran to the bed.

Nolan followed her as they both laughed.

"Sweetie, one more please" Nolan mimicked and Alina laughed.

She pecked him on his cheeks and Nolan fell to the ground holding his chest.

"Sweetie, are you okay?" Alina asked worriedly as she bent over and Nolan laughed, she hit him lightly with a smile on her face.

"Let's go on a trip. Somewhere close by" Nolan said softly as he stared at Alina's eyes passionately.
