GAMES OF THE UNIVERSE

Galloped in misery by his family's deaths, Cale locked himself in his room, only eating junk foods such as chips and carbonated drinks like coke while reminiscing about his past. Out of nowhere, a text message from an individual who he didn't know appeared on his smartphone. The individual asked him if he wanted to play games. If he won, the souls of his love ones would enter reincarnation sooner and receive a better life than they had on earth. For unknown reasons, Cale believed what the individual claimed and agreed to play his games. Now, with the dedication to have his family reincarnated sooner and get a better next life, he set off towards the unknown.

Chapter 8: The Truth.

Tadaomi Karasuma was a dashing man with spiky black hair and well-trimmed eyebrows and penetrating dark eyes. He had a tall and muscular build.

Dressed in a professionally black business suit with a white shirt underneath it and a black tie, Tadaomi Karasuma looked remarkably attractive.

As Tadaomi Karasuma's words seeped into Cale's head, Cale immediately fell into deep contemplation.

Right now, he learned that there was something more to it with his new identity.

Agent 007

The Keyword was 'Agent'. Meaning, Cale's current body had some unique identity. In addition, that also explained his ability to somehow feel and read other people's emotions and his quick-witted thinking.

Most likely, he was trained from a young age and had outstanding potential in the said field.

Then, a thought-provoking issue pop-up in his head.

'Was my chosen skill partly affected my current identity here?'

For example, Cale's new world was of Magical Fantastic World, and he had 3 skill options to choose from: Super Punch, Fireball, and Haste Jump.

If he picked the fireball, he might become a mage! Or if he chose the Super Punch, his background might be of those barbarians!

"Don't think, reply immediately!" Tadaomi Karasuma's hardened voice broke apart Cale's superficial thoughts.

'Shit, my thoughts strayed!' Cale inwardly slapped his face. Tadaomi Karasuma was a sharp-witted agent, and Cale was certain that Tadaomi Karasuma was one of the best agents in the country. Hence, why the government readily decided to send him here.

Feeling that his lie would be easily seen through, Cale decided to answer as short as possible and make it vague and ambiguous as much as possible!

"Yes," Cale answered frankly. However, the voice that came out of his mouth was flat and seemed to carry no emotions.

Cale was even surprised to hear his callous voice!

Regardless, he couldn't do anything about it since it was the body's natural voice. Or at least, that's what he concluded.

"Tell me, what have you done wrong." Tadaomi Karasuma said. He was not even a bit bothered by Cale's emotionless voice. He felt a bit bad for him deep inside though. After all, he learned that the boy in front of him was deprived of a happy childhood and was instead sent to the white room and underwent strict and cruel training that even some of the grown-ups would fail.

"I wasn't able to kill the target," Cale replied. Although he looked apathetic outside, he was a little bit nervous. However, as soon as it came, his nervousness abruptly faded and only calmness and serenity were left in his heart.

It was as though his heart had no space for such emotions!

This obviously made Cale curious but decided to think of it as his body's special ability.

"That's not it." Tadaomi Karasuma was a little enraged by Cale's apathetic wrong answer. However, as soon as he recalled Cale's past, his anger quickly dissipated.

Anyone would become apathetic and less humane after experiencing an extremely rough and cruel childhood, where his 'friends' would die one by one during the harsh training!

Tadaomi Karasuma stared intently at Cale's face for a moment before shaking his head and letting out a sigh.

"You were about to shoot a civilian with your gun earlier. Moreover, after gauging where the barrel was pointed, you were going for his right eye, weren't you? Even if the bullet was of plastic, it would still greatly hurt anyone once they hit a sensitive soft area. There's a high chance that it will blind someone if you shoot them in the eyes."

Cale was truly surprised, but it's not about

the high percentage of blinding someone.

He didn't expect that anyone would be able to figure out where he was aiming for except for Koro-sensei, who was the so-called Ghost Reaper.

But, Tadaomi Karasuma had done so even though he was not in the scene himself!

Most likely, he had watched the scene unfold through the hidden cameras in the classroom.

Even so, that's still impressive to Cale who had not seen high-tech cameras and computers which could easily execute many wonderful things.

The technology could even assess where the Low-Pressure Area(LPA) would go and when it would be gone, much less a trajectory of a gun.

"This will be the first and last time, the next time, if there will ever be, you try to intentionally hurt any civilians, I'll use all of my power to kick you out of this mission." Tadaomi Karasuma then gravely said. "Don't forget what your mission is."

"And that is to kill the abominable creature, yes?" A voice came in from the outside.

Cale, Karasuma, and Koro-sensei whipped their heads and looked into the sliding door.

Triiid!

A second later, the sliding door opened and a man in a brown business suit stepped in.

The man had above-average features, but the most conspicuous things about him were his lifeless eyes and warm smile.

To others, he looked completely harmless and was even charming. But, for the trio, he looked the total opposite.

The man was radiating off creepiness and bleakness. It was as though the man in front of them was a monster hiding under human skin.

"007's mission is to kill that abomination, yes? If he could do it, then sacrificing 20 or more students is thoroughly fine. If you think otherwise, why don't you ask the people around the world. I'm certain that they will readily support my words. After all, they would not be the sacrificial lamb-"

Thud! Thud! Thud!

With large hurried strides, Tadaomi Karasuma arrived in front of the man and tightly yanked the man's collar, preventing him from spouting further nonsense.

"You seem to be angered by my truthful words, Mr. Karasuma? Why though? I'm absolutely certain that someone as educated and smart as you know that I am right. Or perhaps, my impression of you is incorrect. Maybe, you are just a narrow-minded idiotic human being that would let the world get destroyed by a monster?" As the man continued to speak, Tadaomi Karasuma's expression turned more and more ashen, and his hold onto the man's collar tightened even more.

Even so, the man showed no signs of discomfort and his smile became even more warm and wide as if he was watching a toddler throwing a childish fit!

"Mr. Karasuma, if you really hate seeing your precious little civilians 'committing' a greater good, I have a foolproof and extremely safe plan." The man turned his head and looked at the octopus teacher, which was still seated behind the desk, calmly looking on.

"Why don't you go stand in front of that creature and get on your knees? Who knows, maybe after your sincere persuasion, that creature might kill itself. That way, no one will have to die and our lives will return to normal. Plus, the world will be saved with your selfless act."

"Bastar-" Tadaomi Karasuma had enough of the man's unfunny antics and was about to deliver a crisp punch when the school bell rang.

"I'll be going now." Cale quickly absolved himself. After slightly bowing to the trio, he quickly left with soft and small strides, not showing any reactions to what had just transpired in the room.

Earlier, while the 2 grown-ups were quarreling with each other, Cale was absorbing their words, picking any valuable information, and was extensively thinking about his circumstances.

There were just too many variables and factors he needed to sort of. Nonetheless, Cale was relieved that he finally found out his new identity and was no longer clueless as before. Although his identity was a bit special and more complicated, it was still better than being a powerless civilian.

After all, by being an agent that was deployed here to assassinate the target, Koro-sensei, he would naturally receive resources and provide necessities such as home, food, and so on.

Essentially, he could formulate numerous plans that needed financial and technology aid and execute them however he wished!

With those, Cale could protect his targets even more!

Of course, the prerequisite was to have adequate justifications. Otherwise, his requests would just get denied!

As for the man's words, Cale agreed with his reasonings. If his family or he would not get affected, then others dying for his and his family's sake were always welcome!

Although it's cruel, it's better than him or his family dying over for someone else!

Whoosh!

A gust of wind suddenly flew by and Koro-sensei abruptly appeared in front of Cale.

Cale stopped walking and stared at Koro-sensei.

The 2 stared at each other. Cale knew that Koro-sensei had intentions of being here. Hence, he just stood there, waiting for Koro-sensei's confession.

A few seconds later, Koro-sensei finally spoke.

"Pennies for your thoughts?"

"..."

"Kuhum! What are your thoughts about the subject, Ayanokoji-kun?"

"About sacrificing for the greater good?"

"That's right. Care to tell what's your TRUE thought?"

Cale pondered for a bit, carefully picking his words. After a moment, he spoke.

"...I just want to have a full-filing year with all of you."

Cale's words held multiple indications. The keywords were 'all of you', not 'most of you' or 'many of you.'.

Meaning, Cale had no intention of 'sacrificing' anyone in the class!

"Indeed, my intuition of you being a good boy was right all along." Koro-sensei cackled. It suddenly felt the heavy weight on its shoulders was lifted by Cale's words.

"See you at the classroom!" With those words, Koro-sensei disappeared with a gust of wind.

Truthfully, Koro-sensei badly wanted to silence the man earlier, but by doing that, his plans would be in jeopardy.

After all, killing someone that held political and social power would mostly come with bad repercussions.

Hence, if not absolutely necessary, Koro-sensei would never compromise his plans.

However, if the time were to come, then the world might see the comeback of the Ghost Reaper, but with more ruthlessness and cruelty.

Great News! I have found a job, it's labor. The salary is about 5-7 dollars a day, with a free meal!

So, I won't be able to update that much anymore. After all, I have my own needs and I really need money to do a check-up on my eyes and hopefully get glasses.
