No one ever thought about seeing her in the family business after judging from her introvert nature and because of other cause, but that was only for outsiders who didn't knew her well. Her parents were well aware of her nature.
Even if she doesn't have any interest in jewels until she tries to learn some basic and can-do business flawlessly, she can take over the successor position temporarily.
But the problem was that her parents didn't wish to force her to work in their business. They wanted for her to enjoy her life and do what she wanted.
Mr. and Mrs. Cress expression become a little light. If what Cynthia said was true then they can forget the business for some time and give all their time on searching their son.
The opposite happened to the Felix family. Their face darkened and more because the Cress family looked a bit delighted.
"It's wonderful that you are thinking about your family but Cynthia, business is not a child play. You are an introvert; you might end up in the bitter mess". Mrs. Felix with a forced smile said while looking at Cynthia.
Cynthia after having her full meal got up.
Without hiding her arrogance in the slightest bit, she frowned at Mrs. Felix and exhaled, "As I said, I don't like meeting outsiders. It doesn't mean I can't or I am an introvert. If its for my parents and brother, then I can do it for sure".
Mr. and Mrs. Cress ignoring her rudeness toward the Felix family, felt really touched. They were so touched and delighted that they didn't care about the dark faced the Felix family had.
"Oh, my darling daughter!" keeping her hands on her cheeks, she smiled proudly over her daughter words.
Ignoring Mrs. Felix, Cynthia walked toward her mother and hugged her from behind, "Mother you know me the best, right! So, believe me, I will take care of it until brother comes back since it's my responsibility to fulfil in his absence".
Mrs. Cress turned her head to right where Cynthia rested her head on her shoulder and smiled.
That smile said many things but Mr. Felix loud words interrupted their family conversation, "Don't act spoiled Cynthia. If anything goes wrong, all the hard work of your parents will become nothing".
"I am my parent's daughter and business run in my blood. Until I work under my parents' guidance, I am sure I will do a good job. And it's not like cousin have any better experience in running a business then me. What if she messes up? The Felix family reputation will be ruined and that will make us more guilty," with a business smile she made Mr. Felix sweaty.
It was hard to understand what her words really meant. Some words felt like an insult whereas some sounded Concerned.
He wiped his sweats, his face showing his reluctancy to give up yet, "But at least in business gathering, she has more experience than you. Moreover, you are an introvert!".
"Introvert! Who me? Uncle, I am not lying. I was never an introvert, so don't repeat it. Never… I never said such things and you can ask that from my parents," a scheming smile on her face as if she was mocking him for being delusional.
Cynthia stood properly and only shook her head facing Mr. Felix whereas she looked at her father and said, "Father, from tomorrow onwards I will be attending my college that I have been missing for months and also fulfil the duty of the temporary successor, therefore I will be in your care".
A polite smile on her face and her father nod left the Felix family speechless.
From her words to the way the Cress family made their mind, it looked like her words were the top most priority of the Cress family while the Felix family never knew that.
They were left stunned. Never had they imagined that there plan will fail because of a girl they never saw as an obstacle.
She used to love her room. Locked inside, it was her heaven as it was for an introvert.
Suddenly this girl disclaimed all the rumours and tossed their plan as if it was nothing to begin with.
For the Felix family, underestimating Cynthia was the biggest mistake. The goal and the time they had was perfect but it was tossed aside.
No, the company and wealth will be theirs!
But their confidence and goals remain unchanged.
"I believe in my daughter. She will do it if she said," Mrs. Cress wiped her mouth and said to the Felix.
Her cold gaze warned them to stay silent. Yet Mr. Felix was not someone to remain still.
"What if the business goes down because of her and what if the investors retaliated?" Mr. Felix frowned.
The topic almost slipped from helping them to ordering them when Mr. Felix agitated.
"You know, she is not a good choice at all. She barely got admission in a top college because of the money you spent. I assure you that she won't even know the basic things about business. My daughter is better than her, so choose her," his frown got deeper.
Mr. Cress brows become furrowed, "My wife started this business after the company was taken by you. If she likes it than be it. Even if Cynthia ruins the company or the investors leaves, it doesn't matter".
"What the rubbish you…," Mr. Felix gave a disgusted look after hearing him but than paused once Mrs. Cress bashed her hand against the table and got up.
"Enough, I understand your good intentions toward helping us. But insulting our daughter… I can't take it! That's it. The topic ends here".
She left and after sawing the Felix family out, Mr. Cress followed her.
