Mona ran into the darkness allowing herself to get swallowed up. She didn't care about what she left behind or what happened after.
All she cared about was the person being burned alive in front of her.
Mona's hands desperately pulled at the wood, not caring if she was being burned in the process. As the fire crawled up her arms, she wailed in desperation, "Amanda! Amanda!"
Amanda turned down at her and smiled gently through the flames, "Mona… You're getting hurt…"
