Orchid was still unconscious after many weeks of being admitted to the wards. Jake was really worried as he didn't know if he would ever wake up. Thoughts about his regrets started to pile up, the main driver of them was that he wished that he had arrived earlier to protect him. He didn't know what enchantment he used to have drained so much of his magic, he had tried to get Racquel to find out anything from the healer archive on spells but even before she had done so she had told him that the day-to-day healing spells were nothing like what she saw that day. She did agree to go through them albeit it might take some time but she did tell him to not get his hopes too high to find anything.
The head healer in charge did not give him a finite answer as to when he would gain consciousness. This just gave way to more anxiety and built up to even more reluctance to just let things take their due course over time, some of the healers that came in, did tell him to give it some time, they ensured him that he would wake up after he had enough rest. To Jake this wasn't good enough, he didn't want things to be kept to chance.
The healers were perplexed to find such a case because it didn't seem as though Orchid had been severely injured to the point that he wouldn't be able to stand on his two feet going about his day-to-day for this long. They tried many remedies but they seemed not to have worked on the sleeping healer. Many skilled healers had visited his quarters to see if there was anything that could have been done, but alas nothing did.
Racquel visited almost as often as Jake did, at the start she was stunned by his behavior, she was worried and always kept an eye on him to ensure he didn't do anything that would prolong Orchid's worsening condition, but after a while, she noticed that he really cared about him.
He would come in right in the morning and leave close to the time of closing. He was there by his bedside, going about his things, keeping Orchid company. After a while it made Racquel feel better to have him there, taking care of him. He wouldn't want Orchid to suddenly wake up and go missing, so it was reassuring that the blonde was there to ensure his safety.
*****
[Jake's point of view]
Jake wanted to see him get up, he wanted to hold him with all his might. He wanted to be there for his white-haired crush. He started fantasizing about all the things he would do with him and even to him when he would wake up. He wanted to tell him everything, he didn't know what all these feelings were but he understood that they stemmed from him and he didn't mind them, he actually celebrated them. He wanted this obsession to keep going, until he made him, his.
He wanted him to wake up so badly to convey all of these thoughts to this boy he was thinking about, from time to time. He tended to stare at his sleeping face, and even trace the edges of his face when no one was there. He realized that even a touch would send shivers down his own spine, he wanted to get more of this feeling from his sleeping possession.
This day started the same, he came in going about his things. He sat beside Orchid and started to slowly work his way down, tracing every inch of his face to his neck and then finally down to the abs. He realized how much more muscular this one was compared to his first perception of him, he thought he was just scrawny and nothing more.
"Why are you touching me?" a soft voice whispered.
Jake turned stunned, looking at the white hair barely opening his eyes, staring at him. He stood up and ran for the door.
"Doctor he's awake." Jake pulls on the arm of one of the healers who was currently rounding the wards, meeting his patients. The sudden pull caught him off guard, but he had no power to stop him.
Okay, I am back after a long break...I hope the feedback will be good.
