Too Good To Be True

'Don't you think today's going too well?' I asked my wolf as I climbed the steps of my boyfriend's apartment in the pack. Asides living in the main Alpha house with his father, he had another apartment where he painted and stored his weapons.

Can you please have some hope? She asks in exasperation as I stick my key in the lock, I turned the knob once and My jaw dropped to the floor as I came face to face with my fiancé slamming his average-nothing-special dick into one of the meanest girls in this werewolf pack.

"What the hell?" I think that got their attention because they both turned towards my direction with wide eyes.

I should be in tears, or maybe heartbroken, or at least feel something, but no. At the moment I didn't feel sad, happy, angry or anything. I felt numb, unlikely to feel more emotions. I knew the day was going too good to be true.

"It's not what you think." Mason quickly packed his unremarkable member up into his pants.

Yeah, like I'm dumb or blind, I rolled my eyes in my mind. This was the adopted son of the wisest alpha of the biggest pack in history, getting at it with the beta's daughter Alessia. Who am I to complain?

I'm just an omega in the pack with no parents or family name, they make a perfect match better than Mason and I. I've long known our relationship was too perfect to be true.

I walked out of the room and pretended I was hurt, I ran outside towards the market, "Please stop!" Mason came up behind me, breathing like he ran a marathon. I wondered how he was going to survive in the next war coming soon.

"Just stop already." He panted.

"Stop what exactly, I just caught you cheating on me with Alessia, and what you have to say is stop?" He deserved the embarrassment, I had nothing to lose.

I folded my hands below my expansive breasts, waiting for an explanation, but the next thing I heard was shocking.

"You fat, smelly pig. You should even be grateful that someone of my status noticed someone as low and dirty as you. You call yourself hardworking but you are just poor and have no future..."

He continued with the insults, every word cutting through my chest like a flaming sword, I started to feel something at least. It was better than nothing.

"You don't deserve me, you should be happy that I had pity on a slob like you and wanted to raise your status..."

I can't believe he's doing this, I mean I just caught him cheating on me but I'm now the bad person? Is this some reverse psychology technique he's trying to play on the mass of people watching?

He's doing it to save face, I decide in the end. He's definitely doing it to save face, and from their looks of disgust towards me, it's definitely working.

"I, Mason McGregor, hereby reject you as my mate." He stood proudly with his shoulders higher than his shameless ass.

I hear people gasp, their surprise very evident and I was left wondering if they now thought I was stupid for catching him, they felt I was lucky to have this jerk as my future husband. I burst into laughter, I could tell that they thought I'd run mad.

Mason stood there surprised by my reaction, "Forget it." I said, with a roll of my eyes and walked away from his side. "Thank the goddess, it's all over." I shrugged to myself and continued my way to the omega lounge where homeless omegas live.

When I got to my room and sat on my bed, I replayed everything in my head and that was when the hot tears crept out slowly like it was scared to summit. I didn't feel bad because I was cheated on, I felt bad because of the reality it opened my eyes to, I knew if I was someone like Alessia he wouldn't have cheated on me, but because I had no class according to him. The words he said were truly hurtful.

I went to take a shower, changed into a nice nightgown I'd bought to wear as Mason's wife and crawled into my bed, I doubt I'll have the mental energy to do anything today again.

I recapped memories of Mason and I while I tried to sleep and forget. We met the first time during warriors training, he was still too young to go to war then so he only trained. I came to watch because sometimes I get to make fun of the losers.

That particular day I sparred with the almighty Adam, their trainer. He said he was taking it easy on me and that was why I beat him, others laughed it off because they knew I won fairly.

I could fight, not because I trained but because I had a really hard life before finding this pack and joining in. My strength came naturally to me too, some call me the strongest woman in the pack, sometimes as a slur.

Mason had approached me first and we talked about the war, and the spoils of the war, somehow, he was scared of going and he wished he would be able to stay but he knew it would be a shame to him, I tried to encourage him and that was when he decided I was his to play around with.

Honestly, I liked him at first but not enough to want to spend my life with him, he started showing his true colors and acting overconfident, proud, and spoilt. When he asked me to be his girlfriend I only said yes to avoid stabbing his pride and ego in front of everyone.

During training, I still beat his ass and everyone will laugh about it. We had good times and bad times in our shallow relationship but when he noticed other warriors were having a crush on me too, he wanted to put a claim on me like I was his property because of jealousy.

That was how he made it official that we were going to get married and I became his fiancé. He didn't want me coming to the training field again, his excuse was that ladies are not warriors so I should not be fighting.

True, other girls were out there doing one chore or the other or gossiping or playing girly games, but I liked the hard things like fighting, helping elderly ones carry heavy loads, doing hard labor to get paid, and other difficult things that the other girls do not want to do. I was always sweating and I was on the bigger side, so I wouldn't blame him for calling me a smelly pig, not that I was smelling though.

I sighed into my pillow and turned to face the ceiling. 'Look where it got me? Nothing good came out of trying not to break his ego.' I told my wolf, she was barking her teeth in anger, but he's the Alpha's don and our next Alpha, there's no way around it.

When I realized that sleep wasn't coming, it was already twilight, the sun was setting, and the omegas were returning from their various daily tasks. The apartment that had been silent, began to buzz with people all over again and I decided to step out.

When I went back out, I saw my best friend, Marina, although she was not a lowly omega like me. With parents that worked hard in the pack, she is different from my parent less self.

Once our eyes met, she pulled me aside and asked about what happened today, I guess the news had spread. "I don't want to talk about it." I faced somewhere else, she had warned me about Mason after all.

"Whenever you are ready to talk, you know I am there for you." She gave me a warm smile.

"Sure, I just want to take a walk right now and clear my head, I'll come to your house when I feel relaxed"

She nodded, we hugged, and I left to take a stroll in the path up the mountain.

From a distance, I saw the alpha, the alpha Damien that everyone fears, respects, loves, and adores. I have never been in a close range, when he comes to address the entire pack members is the only time I'm graced with his presence, seeing him here gives me the chills.

I hid behind the fat tree as I admired him, the shade of the sun made his skin look so vibrant and tanned, and his eyes were concentrated on the sky, I won't blame him, the sky was looking beautiful today, but something told me that it was not the sky he was thinking about, he was thinking of something else, likely the war that is at ahead.

He moved and I quickly hid my head, I took in a deep breath to pray that I wouldn't get caught. I peeped again and he was squatting, his muscles clenched as the cold breeze passed, his hair fell on his face and the action of him running his hands on his hair to get it back gave me goosebumps, imagine those veined hands on me.

I've only been touched by Mason, I didn't like that I enjoyed it, but beyond that I wasn't convinced about him enough that's why we didn't have sex. I wondered how it would feel to be touched by the alpha. My imagination was going wild, I chuckled.

'A girl can only dream.' I whispered to myself, kind of in a mocking manner because I knew it could never happen.

Damien was forty years old and I was just a twenty-year-old girl looking for something else to feed her thoughts on, other than her ex who cheated on her. That's what was wrong with me, not like I wanted to be staring at my alpha.

The night breeze increased once the sun had set completely, I didn't even notice when the moon started coming up because I was busy watching Damien.

"Looking for something?" Damien's voice shocked me in place, he was right behind me, so close to me that I could feel the hair behind my neck rise, I could guess we were only an inch apart.
