Now That She knows...

Back to the present where Mrs.Camille had reminisced the old memory,

"It's better if no one finds out about this."Mr.Gordon said to his stressed wife in a cautious tone." Not even the police. It will not go well if people found out that Lea has a special ability to control the wind with her hand."

"You're right, Gord. It would be really troublesome!" Mrs.Camille said in agreement.

Not a moment later, Mrs.Camille's eyes widened and her mouth fell open when her gaze met someone standing at the door in the living room.

Lea was standing there with a shocked expression on her face. Her bright eyes held a glint of shock and confusion. She had come to wish her parents goodnight and accidentally eavesdropped on their heated conversation.

She had overheard them talking about a special ability she possessed and she desperately wanted to what they were talking about.

"Le...Lea?" Mrs. Camille stuttered, she was slightly shocked that Lea had heard their conversation and she moved forward to where she was standing. Lea staggered back when her mom came near her and Mrs.Camilled turned stiff.

"Dear, we can explain, we didn't mean to hide this from you..." Mrs.Camille spoke on, her voice cracking at the end.

Both Mr.Gordon and Mrs.Camille had not expected Lea to find out this way.

They had decided that they would tell her at the appropriate time when she was ready to receive the information, but it seemed things did not go as they planned.

By that time, Mr.Gordon had turned to notice Lea standing in the room who seemed to have heard what they were speaking about and there was a shocked expression registered on her face. He saw his wife trying to explain things to Lea but...

He stood up and went to stand by his wife ushering Lea to have a seat.

"Come have a seat dear, we'll tell you everything we know." Mr.Gordon uttered to Lea who stood rooted in her standing spot.

Mrs.Camille moved forward and tugged Lea to the sofa in the room.

Lea sat down, her gaze lowered, expecting an explanation from her parents.

"Listen, Lea, we need you to calm down and listen carefully to what we have to say." Mr.Gordon was the first to speak.

They stared at Lea whose gaze was still lowered and after a short while she nodded her head like an obedient child.

"A few years back, a small incident happened and your mother and I found out that you had a rare ability that was out of this world." Mr.Gordon stated and he saw Lea raise her head and their eyes met.

"You were very young then. We thought about it hard and decided it was just a one-time occurrence that happened out of nowhere, which was left as a mystery to us, even now. As the years passed by, we had been observing you and you didn't exhibit that ability again until now..." his words trailed.

Lea who had been listening ardently to her father sank in the information. She was quite surprised and shocked at the same time.

"So what is this ability?she quizzed him.

" We are not really keen on what it is, but our conclusion was that you somehow had the ability to control the wind with your hands...We figured that, you can make use of the ability with the least wind around you."

The memory of her throwing the robber across the ground appeared in her mind and she recalled the power and force she had felt through her body.

"Why was I unable to demonstrate the ability when you asked me to?" she questioned her father, remembering the time when her dad had told her to use the ability when she had told them about her encounter with the robbers.

"I don't know.Maybe it's because, you only exhibit the ability when you are in great danger and you feel fear for your life. At least that is what seems to be the case." he said unsure about the facts of the ability.

"Whatever the case Lea, we still love you and care for you no matter what ability you carry." Mrs.Camille assured Lea.She was feeling lighthearted now that they had informed Lea about her strange ability and she was happy that Lea had not freaked out about it and was taking it cooly.

Lea was starting to comprehend certain things and somehow she felt glad that her parents were being supportive. She felt much better than she did earlier and she felt a pair of warm arms around her.

Mr.Gordon and Mrs.Camille hugged Lea, assuring her that they would always be with her no matter what.

Lea felt warm and loved in their affectionate embrace and she smiled.

" Thanks, mom and dad," she whispered, but her parents heard it and they murmured,

"We love you, Lea."

Mr.Gordon and Mrs.Camille released Lea from the hug and looked at her,

"It's better if no one finds out about this for now Lea, not even your sister." they cautioned Lea and she nodded understandingly.

"I won't." she responded and got up from her seat along with her parents.

"Go get some sleep, dearie.You have work tomorrow,"Mrs.Camille told Lea and saw her nod in comprehension.

" Good night, mom and dad."she wished them.

"Good night, dear." they wished back and saw Lea head inside.

"It's feels so right that she knows now.I feel like a heavy burden has being lifted off my shoulder."Mrs.Camille said to her husband when Lea was out of sight, and Mr.Gordon nodded in agreement.

" You're right.Now that she knows, things will be less difficult to handle."Mr.Gordon said and heard her wife hum to his words.

They went into their bedroom, feeling lightsome in their minds.

In the room that Lea shared with her sister, she laid on the bed, thinking about all that her parents had told her.She raised her hands in front of her and observed it, as if she was observing something she had seen for the first time, realizing that she was different from the others.

At the same time, she recalled her boss's words that they would be meeting the Williams the next day.She stood up from her bed and went to her wardrobe to fish out some nice presentable clothes for the event the next day.
