Iyare got home late that day. She had to put extra effort into her studies to become knowledgeable about the company. Once she got home. Peter gave her the update that they were yet to find Justin. The good news was that the man went hiding after he visited the police station. Their only hope now was to find him before Charles.
Iyare was quite satisfied with the process. She was glad that Justin took the initiative to hide. At least there was hope to find him, and Charles would remain on his toes. She ate her dinner before going into her room to shower. After which, she opened her laptop and massaged her temple a bit.
"Time to find Amina," she muttered to herself before her hands flew across the keys. She could have sent a mail but was afraid of being linked to Ng. She decided to hack Amina's laptop. It took her two hours to break into Amina's security. When she managed to hack into her system, she sent a message.
Satisfied by her success, she waited patiently for Amina to reply.
Amina, on the others side, was checking her Email when her laptop screen went blank. She looked at the screen casually, knowing she had just got hacked. She had no important information on her laptop, so she did not bother to stop whoever was hacking her.
She froze when she saw the message on the screen when it turned on again.
{55482, curious to know who, come to Quee city in Ua.}
She blinked and read the message repeatedly until the screen went blank and turned on again. This time the first message was gone, and there was a new one.
{Call this number when you are in Quee city.}
Amina picked a pen and wrote down the number.
She closed her eyes to think. She knew who had sent her that message or who should have sent the message. But Iyare was dead. She even visited her Graveside; how was it possible that she sent a message? Unless she was making a mistake.
But she was not. How could she be confused by a small code? She gave everybody that knew about her secret ability a different code and made them believe it was her code. A code only those close to her have. She did this so it would be easy to find out who betrayed her or tried to contact her, in case. She cancelled Iyare's code a few days ago when she heard about her death.
"What the fuck was going on?" She asked herself. Whatever it may be, Amina's curiosity was picked. She needs to find out how and Who sent her a message using Iyare's code. Unless Iyare was still alive, she shook her head; that was impossible. Or was...
"A penny for your thought?" a deep masculine voice interrupted her thoughts. Amina turned around to look at the man who had just walked in. She blushed and smiled at him.
"I was thinking about you; I have missed you so much," She said, getting up to hug him. There was no way she would tell him someone hacked her laptop or a dead friend contacting her. She has promised him to stop hacking or doing any computer-related work.
"I saw you looking at your laptop screen in a daze; what is the problem?" the man asked. She did not even hear him open the door.
"Oh, that; I was checking my emails," Amina lied. She did not want to get him worried. Whoever sent her that message may be dangerous. Her last illegal job a year ago got her into a lot of trouble. She almost died and was scared that the client was still after her.
"Oh! Did you see anything disturbing?" he asked.
"No, everything is fine," Amina replied with a smile.
"Okay..." the man said with raised brows, not looking convinced.
"You did not inform me you were coming back today," Amina immediately tried to change the topic.
"Yes, that's because I wanted to surprise you," the man replied, smiling sweetly at her. Amina returns his smile and hugs him closer.
"How was your trip?" Amina asked, letting go of the hug.
"My trip was fine; I just missed my fiancé so much," he replied.
Amina blushes and pecks him on the cheek." I miss you too, love," Amina replied. "Have you had breakfast?" she asked.
"No, I just came here from the airport; I wanted to have breakfast with you," he answered.
"Okay, go into the bathroom and freshen up while I prepare breakfast," Amina said. She immediately closed her laptop before he could see it and walked out of the room.
Amina was worried about the message she had received. She has to get to the root of it. She sighed and took a deep breath. She needed to devise a reasonable excuse to give Ohio before leaving for Quee city.
But first, she needed to find out how Iyare died. Maybe those after her got a hold of her laptop or something that contained her code.
Amina was so occupied with finding cue that she cut her finger while chopping the onion.
Ouch, she cried when she felt the pain.
She immediately dropped the knife and cleaned the injury with warm water before heading to her room to get the first aid box.
She quietly applied ornament on the cut without making any sound, afraid of alerting Ohio. She was almost done dressing the injury when the bathroom door opened, and Ohio walked in.
" What happened to your hand?" he asked, looking worried.
''It's nothing, just a small cut," Amina answered.
"How did you cut your hand?" Ohio asked, inspecting her finger.
Amina pouted her lips; she knew Ohio would suspect that she was absent-minded. He will begin to doubt her, and she could not let that happen. "I will make breakfast," he declared and walked out of the room. Ohio could tell that she was keeping something away from him, but he was too tired for an argument. Amina did not protest. She knew he must be tired from his trip, but she did not want them talking about the cause of her injury. She did not want them to argue so it was best to let him do the cooking.
She decided to visit Iyare's grave later in the day before going to see Iyare's family and get some information.
