Chapter 1Awaken

Iyare opens her eye and it took a few minutes to adjust them to the brightness of the room. When she was finally able to adjust her eyes, she realized that she did not recognize where she was.

"Where am I? how did I get here?" she questioned herself. The last thing she could remember was collapsing due to inhaling lots of smoke. She believes that she should have died that day but where was she?

The room was large and the decoration looks expensive. Although she did not know much about furniture and intro decorations, she could still tell that the materials were expensive. This was definitely not a hospital. To her knowledge Hospital rooms were not this big and definitely not decorated like the room she was present occupying, even the bed felt so comfortable. The bed was large and the white duvet over her body was soft. "Am I dead?" she asked herself.

Her grandmother usually tells her stories about the beautiful life that existed after death. She told her of an ancestral home. A place where there is peace and Joy with no pain. A place filled with wealth and beauty. "Could this be it?" she wondered to herself

"I have to be dead. No member of my family would have tried to save me. Because everyone saw me as the bad luck of the family." she convinced herself. Over the past twenty-five years, she has tried to gain their love and acceptance but they have treated her like a plague.

The only person who loved her was her grandmother and she died the year before. Life has been hell for her since then. To be more accurate, life has always been hell for her, even before the death of her grandmother. If there was anything worse than hell, then that would describe her life after her grandmother's death.

There was no one else she could share her pain, fear, and joy with, after her beloved grandmother's death.

The memory of her past life came running to her and her tears dropped down uncontrollably. "why was I treated so badly" she asked. She remembered waking up that morning assaulted by the thick smoke that covered her room.

Coughing and trying to catch her breath. she deep the hand towel beside her bed into the water jug. After which she placed it over her nose, to avoid inhaling more smoke.

She crept her way to the door to her room since she was very familiar with the room. When she got to the door, she turns the handle but to her disappointment, the door refused to open. She kept trying, she even hit the door a couple of times but nothing seemed to be working. She was confident that she did not lock the door before going to sleep last night. She tried to shout for help but she only got the smoke into her throat which leads her into a fit of coughing.

She looked around her room for a key or anything she could use for the door but the smoke was too thick and her eyes couldn't stand the smoke as they kept tearing up.

Her room was so hot and her heartbeat was racing very fast, due to how nervous she was feeling. Tears kept running down her eyes and she felt her death coming closer. Her room was getting hotter with every passing minute and breathing was becoming very difficult.

Finally, she thought of her window. She could open it and jump off the room. The idea gave her new hope and will. So she pushes her weak body to the widow. But she soon realized she was a bit too short to push herself off the window, so she decided to use a chair.

Her room was a bit small which made the task to push the chair to the window possible. She was running out of breath as she has already inhaled a lot of smoke.

Climbing the chair to reach the window, she pushed her head out. And breath in the fresh air into her lungs. She was finally able to open her but She could not see anybody outside the window. She also realized that she could not jump over the window because of her body size. The window was quite small just like her room. This room was originally a small space that should be used to store things. So the widow was especially the same and high. She tried to shout for help but all she did was cough. The smoke was escaping through the window so the air around her was mixed with it.

When she noticed that she was running out of breath even with her head outside the window, she tried to squeeze her body through the window but the chair could no longer bear her weight and it got broken.

*Clash *clash

*Pak

Her body landed on the broken pieces of the chair. She struggled to get up but her body felt numb. She started coughing continuously while gasping for air. She felt choked up. She tried to drag herself to the door but she was unable to move a muscle. Then darkness took over.

She shakes her head to stop the horrible thought of her past. Using her palms to clean the tears in her eyes she looked around herself. "How did I get here," she thought to herself. she sat up on the bed, to take a look around the room. That was when she noticed her hands were different.

Her skin was looking fair and fine. No trace of being In a fire. She immediately touched her face and looked down at her body.

She wanted to scream her lungs out at what she saw but her throat felt dry.

Her body was different, she was looking slim. Her heart began to race as she looked around the room for something. She soon noticed a large mirror and a dressing table in the right corner of the room.

She dashes off the bed immediately and ran to the dressing mirror. She felt strange, she could not recognize the body she looked down to.

Her mouth hangs open when she saw her reflection in the mirror. "who is that" she asked herself. Everything about the person in the mirror was beautiful. It was nothing like the body she remembered.

Her nose now looked like that of a Nubian supermodel, her lips succulent like a crimson rose. Her long lashes compliment her sapphire indented eyes. Her inky heir loosed elegantly on her shoulder, looking longer and more beautiful than she remembered.

She unconsciously licks her lips looking at them in the mirror. She pulled the thin dress over her head to check out every inch of her new body.

There were no spots and all the scars were gone too. She noticed her long slender legs fit for a runway. She could not believe her eyes. Everything looked like her imagination. Was she really the one in the mirror she thought and immediately pinch her face. 'Ouch," she cried when she felt the pain.

*Pak,

She slaps herself to wake up from her stupor. But nothing changed. A beautiful image was still before her in the mirror. She jumps up and down while looking at the mirror, to see if the person there will do the same. she was really the person in the mirror she came to the realization. "This is too much" she screamed in her head.

"what's going on" she whispered. She fell into deep thoughts for a couple of seconds. "could it be" she asked herself.

"Could this be the life after death, grandma always talks about?" She asked herself. "Yes it has to be," she answered herself. It was the only logical possibility she could think of. "This means I can finally be reunited with grandma," she thought and a smile played on her lips at that thought.

"Wait! will grandma recognize me like this?" she asked herself. "What if grandma looks different too. "how do we recognize each other?" "It's an ancestral home right, so we should be able to recognize each other," She thought of the possibility.

In any case, she did not have to deal with her fat ugly self in death, she comforted herself. She believes she could deal with anything else happily.

A lot of people might think it was bad luck for her to have died on her birthday but she counts it as good fortune. If she had not died that day she will not be here in the life after death. In fact, she believes that it was the best thing to have happened to her in life. She carefully looked at her new self in the mirror and her cheek blushed red.

Her body size and figure were beautiful. If she was like this when she was alive, She is sure every man that comes across her would have doll over her looks.

She turned around to look at her back, she is definitely very sexy now she thought to herself feeling stunning by her new look. She has never been this happy in her entire life.

If she knew death will look like this, then she would have happily embarrassed it long ago. She used to think her grandmother was making up stories about life after death but now she feels like her grandmother has underestimated it.

She decided to look around the room and figure out how to contact her grandmother. She put on the dress she took off earlier and looked around. She noticed a wardrobe on the other side of the room, so she walked over, to take a look. When she opened the door, she realized it was a walk-through wardrobe, so she walked in feeling very excited.

The wardrobe was filled with branded clothes, shoes, bags, and pieces of jewelry. She hungrily feeds her eyes with the sight and checks out most of the dresses.

She decided to change into a simple but elegant gown that looked just perfect to her taste. Then she picked up a pair of flat shoes that matches the gown.

She stepped out of the wardrobe holding the gown and shoes. She placed the gown on the bed and then the shoe under it. She was about to look for the bathroom when she realized the dress might not be her size. so she picked it up to check.

Her face fell in disappointment when she noticed the size of the dress and shoes were too small for her. She dropped the dress and was about to curse her luck when she remembered she was no longer looking the same. With this thought, a warm smile appears on her face.

She walked to the door by the left which she guessed was the bathroom and she was right. Her lips curved into an O shape when she looked at the luxurious bathroom. It was just like the five-star hotel bathroom, the ones she has seen in movies while she was still alive.

Death is really wonderful she thought to herself. Now that she thought of it, she had everything she has always wished for while she was alive. A beautiful body and luxurious things. She pulled off her dress, after making sure there was a clean towel in the bathroom.

She filled up the bathtub and gladly stepped into the warm water. She has always wanted to know how it felt to lay in a bathtub filled with warm water. She closed her eyes and enjoyed her dream come true.

She felt quite satisfied, even if she was having this experience after her death, or so she thought.
