In a small room, a fat girl of fourteen was laying on her bed sleeping, the room was small, and apart from the small reading table in a Conner, the only other furniture was the bed she was sleeping on. the room was stuffed with old bags one could tell that it was used to store old things by the family. A while later a middle-aged man opens the door to the room and walked in.
He looked at the girl who was sleeping peacefully. He was not attracted to her beautiful face because she was not beautiful. she was fat and ugly but he had needs that the fat ugly girl could satisfy. He walks over to her bedside and gently pulls off his shorts before climbing the bed quietly
The fat girl was not a deep sleeper, so she opened her eyes feeling the movement around her. She was shocked to see her father on top of her.
He looked different, lust was clearly visible in his eyes. "Was she not just a fat ugly girl? what was he doing in her room so late at night half-naked and on top of her in her bed," she asked herself.
She tried to say something but the man was fast enough to push a think cloth into her mouth before sealing it with his right hand firmly. The girl tried to free herself from his grip but he was stronger than her, and due to her body size and health issues she suffered short breaths.
In between the struggle she pauses to take a deep breath, the man used this opportunity to position himself in between her legs, and in one fast thrust, the girl felt pain in her lower part.
The pain becomes a source of strength and the girl tried to struggle again but she could not set herself free.
Iyare jumps off her bed and realizes that her nightmare was back. "That bastard" she cursed. "He took away my innocence." tears dropped down her eyes as she traveled through the hurtful memories. He has molested her for years already, and she was beginning to take it as part of her life and part of her fate.
He threatens to send her out of the house into the street if she ever told anybody. Who would believe her anyway? She was just a fat ugly girl. The bad luck of the family.
Iyare took a deep breath to calm down her running emotions. She sat back On her bed breathing in and out loudly. She felt tears in her eyes and she let them flow. She wanted to let out her hurt and pain, she could not keep them to herself anymore. But there was really no one to share it with. she put on the lamp when she felt like someone was watching her but she saw no one. She felt her body jolted and soon it seem she was traveling, through her memory, all the sadness, all the pain. Then she caught sight of a happy moment, she decided to dwell on it a little.
In a small house she saw a lady in her twenties running happily like a child to show her grandmother her admission letter, that was sent in from her dream school. Her grandmother was so happy and proud of her.
"You made it my precious," her grandmother said as she pulled her into a hug but even this happy moment did not last for more than a few moments.
"What's the point of getting the admission?" her mother asked. "you know we can't afford the fees," she reminded the happy duo.
The girl who felt nothing but love a few minutes ago suddenly feels her pain and sorrow rushing in. She took a deep breath, she should be used to this by now but she was not. She pushed the tear that was about to drop back. if she had not seen her mother being nice to her siblings it would have been easier to bear.
"That's not a problem mum, I got a discount on my fees, like a scholarship due to my performance and I also plan to work and study to complete my fees. I have kept some servings over the years." the young girl happily explained to her mother.
She knew her parents will never spend money on her, she is the bad luck of the family. That was why she did not apply for admission immediately after high school. She got a job and supported her family While saving the Little she could because she wanted to go to college.
She was never treated with love by members of her family. Once she got a job she paid most of the bills in the house working four jobs, the only time she rested was when she was sleeping. She felt that if she helped out a little in the house, her family will be a little nicer to her but that was only her wishful thinking.
Her grandmother hugged her happily and told her not to worry she would support her in any way she could once she went into college.
"Who will help pay the bills around here if she goes to school," her mum said getting angrier and irritated by the duo's conversations.
"We can manage child, let the girl achieve her dreams. After all, as elders we are supposed to support her not the other way round" her grandmother replied to her unhappy mother.
Iyare could no longer watch the scene, any good thing that came her way was treated like a plaque in her house. The big question was why? She could never understand why she was called the bad luck of the family. Was it just because of her look? She turns her attention.
She remembered her first day in college. That was the same day she met Greg. He was the most handsome man she has ever met. The strange part of the meeting is the fact that he was nice to her. Iyare immediately shakes her head she could not think about him.
He was never really nice, he just used her. She immediately pushes him to the back of her mind and tried to look for another happy moment but unfortunately, she only saw pain and hurt.
The young girl had to drop out of school in her last year in school because her grandmother became sick and needed a lot of money for her operation.
She handed over her savings for her grandmother's operation but she was later informed that the operation failed and her grandmother died.
She cried her eyes out. Her grandmother was her only source of support.
What she did not know all along was the fact that her grandmother had rejected the money and asked that it be returned to her, so she would not drop out of school. Her grandmother died because she did not perform the operation, not because of any complications during the operation.
Her parents never returned the money but spent it.
What! Iyare was shocked when she discovered this in her trance.
Her memory went straight to the morning of her death. She could not see the cause of the fire but she saw how her parents helped her siblings out of the house but none thought to wake her up or help her out of the house.
she tried to save herself but someone has deliberately locked her door from outside to ensure she died in the fire. That someone was her mother. Why did this woman hate her daughter so much? Iyare asked herself.
Iyare felt tears dropping down her eyes as she recalls how the monster of a father has molested her for many years.
He away came into her room after the first night and focus himself on her. It has been the nightmare that's haunted her every day of her life. She has no friends to complain to and she has been taking it all in.
Iyare had a knock on the door and she focused her eyes open. "Was I dreaming?" What kind of dream was that? She asked herself. She did not feel scared, all she felt was pain and hatred.
"Should I reject Louis's deal and go back to that life?" She asked herself. Those evil parents of hers could not even fulfill her grandmother dying wish.
The poor woman chose to die, so she can achieve her dreams but those selfish bastards lied to her. She knew she just woke up from a dream but she was certain all she saw were facts of the past.
Louis promised that she could Revenge for her pains if she accepted his deal. "I must make that's man pay for taking away my innocent," she declared.
She has gotten used to the pain already but not anymore. She decided that the people who hurt her must pay. Her whole body was screaming revenge. Besides Greg was also in Quee city, maybe she would finally get the chance to ask him why?
"Mum you always said I was a monster, you are about to meet the real monster," Iyare said and smiled to herself. They were the monsters in her life and she must make them pay.
In the corner of the room, Louis was smiling at the success of his plans.
Louis had promised Iyare that he would let her enjoy her 24hours but he did not plan to keep that promise. He needed to make sure he got a positive reply from her. To make sure of this Iyare needed to visit her formal life. he needed to revile things that will make her seek revenge.
He had appeared in the room and made her watch all her suffering in her dream like a television show.
Iyare was ignorant of his presence in the room since he made himself invisible.
There was another knock on the door. "Miss Iyare you asked me to wake you up by six am" the maid behind the door informed her.
"It alright I am awake" she replied the maid, who walked away once she heard Iyare's reply.
Iyare stood up from her bed and did a little morning routine to relax her emotions that were everywhere.
Greg's face flashes in her mind in between and she bowed her fist in anger. She should hate him but she could not bring herself to do that. Shaking her head she dashes into the bathroom. She did not want to remember what he did to her.
It was too embarrassing and she could not get over the pain and shame.
After that, she stepped into her closet to get a black dress for Mr. Onasa's funeral.
Half an hour later she sat at the dinner table to eat her breakfast quietly. She knew Louis will be back in the afternoon for her to make a decision.
She thought of her grandmother as she quietly ate her meal. "should I give up the chance to be reunited with my grandmother for me to live this life?" She kept asking herself.
She needed to have her revenge and this was her dream life, where she Is beautiful and rich. But she did not want to give up any chance to reunite with her grandmother. She sat quietly in her dilemma.
