Fangs Out

Playing these games were my way of an escape. But I cursed them for raising my standards so high that I probably would never be with someone if they didn't meet them. If only these characters were real....

Chapter Two

"Earth to Palemon?" I waved my hand in his face which he grabbed in response to stop me.

"Did you see her?"

"I'm pretty sure everyone did, she's the only one not wearing the uniform." I almost rolled my eyes.

Here I was, annoyed about this whole situation when all these times I had been playing Spencer. I wonder if this is how Leticia had felt. She was in the story but I didn't know as much about her as I did for Spencer.

Finally, I came back to this world to find Palemon gone. I glanced around, the crowd of tall bodies in the same uniform did not help a bit with my search. Eventually, I found him and he was following none other than Spencer. And of course, he wasn't the only one.

I was about to go after him but one of Leticia's guards had slipped out of the car that I had completely forgotten about that followed Leticia around. He stepped into my pathway and another was on standby with his door opened.

"What's the fuss about?"

"Some new girl who's messing up." Rolled off my tongue and I almost covered my own mouth in shock.

Was I becoming Leticia?!

I looked at my own hands quickly, but no, I hadn't gone a shade lighter. With a sigh of relief, I retrained my focus back on the guard.

"Really, there is no problem at all."

"Okay..but we're here if you need us." He pointed at my phone in my skirt pocket, just inches about to fall out.

"Yep, thanks!" I ran off before he could stop me once more.

I managed to get inside the building. But with me still watching behind me more than in front of me, I ran right into a back again, but this time it wasn't Palemon's.

The girl toppled right over and the shorter girl by her blinked down at her before glancing over at me.

"Shit, sorry about that." I ran around to help the taller one up.

Once she was standing she was towering over me and the shorter one. Her light-brown hair laid straight over her face, almost making me dash screaming. She resembled the girl from "The Ring" even scarier with the height, well until the short blonde flipped the girl's hair back.

Their faces almost looked exactly the same if it weren't for the beauty marks on the blonde. But almost everything else was not, the difference in height and hair color, along with the texture. The blonde had more wavy hair and stopped before her shoulders, she also didn't have bangs like the lanky one. Other than that they both had hazel eyes and pretty much the same facial structure.

"Err.. are you two twins?"

"Precisely!" The tall one was quick to respond with a flicker in her eyes. "I'm so glad we wear uniforms, now it's hard to distinguish us from each other!!!"

The short one smiled along with her sister as if she was in agreement. I decided to nod along and try to sneak away.

The possibility of breaking their hearts about them not really looking like twins besides the faces, and even then I would have thought they still weren't would probably do me no good. I had never seen these characters before, so I had no idea what they had in store.

The short one had grabbed my arm right when I thought I was in the clear and tugged me down to reach my ear. "Thank you, you've made my sister really happy today." She pulled back with a bright smile before returning to her sister's side and walking in another direction.

That's when it hit me.

I had no clue where I was supposed to go. Sure, Leticia had a few classes with Spencer but she did not share her first class with her. And your first class was homeroom. You were supposed to have some small orientation with your class first before the huge one with everyone.

"You look lost, and also soon to be late." A voice spoke up.

I whipped around to find none other than Jerakai. My heart swooned. He was the last suitor I chose recently so his story was still fresh in my mind.

"Actually I am, care to show me where I should be going?" I zipped through my words causing him to stare at me blinking.

"I uh...I can help you to class, yes? Where's your schedule?"

Right, I was an idiot.

I reached back to unclamp my bag and dig through it for my schedule, but to no luck I didn't find any clue of it. Not even a handwritten one.

I glanced up to send him an apologetic look to find his gaze somewhere else. I almost thought Spencer was nearby and felt some anger boil up inside me. But his eyes were on a clock, his eyes eventually landed on mine causing my heart to leap.

"Sorry, let's just head to the office? I don't want to be late." He led the way, even though I knew the way to the office.

Still, it was a nice gesture. And something I should have thought of beforehand.

"Sorry, no Leticia in our system."

But it had to be! That's who I was play- oh.

I took a deep breath. "Try Thalia then?"

"Thalia Rojas?"

Jerakai gave me a strange look.

"Haha..yeah that would be me."

The lady behind the desk also gave me a look but nonetheless nodded. "You should be going to Dr. Butler."

Now that was a familiar name but I didn't get much from it.

"We're in the same homeroom so we can walk together," Jerakai shifted his attention to the lady for a brief moment. "Thanks for all your help." He opened the door and held it open for me while walking out.

"Yeah, thanks!" I hollered before rushing out the door.

"So ya have two names or something?" He asked once the door closed.

"You could say something like that." I laughed glancing away, keeping my eyes on anything but him even though it killed me not to.

Eventually, we made it to Dr. Butler's room. I wasn't surprised to not see many familiar faces, and funny enough they mostly seemed bland or similar to another, telling me right away they were just background characters to fill in the space. The bell had rung just as I found a free seat. Sadly the other free seat was three seats away and in another row that Jerakai had to take.

"Alright everyone, I'm Dr. Butler." Erupted after we had settled.

I had just realized the person behind the desk, who I assumed was Dr. Butler, was completely covered head to toe. I could barely even see their brown eyes.

"And this is night school as you all know, for those who can't be out in the day or just to learn more of your own..bloodthirsty nature."

Goosebumps spread over my arms. Of course I knew what I was getting into but it almost felt real, nothing like just playing this on my phone.

"I'm kidding." They snorted as they laughed which many had made faces in response. "We all aren't bloodthirsty exactly, but many of you may be. Which is one of the reasons why you're here. Learn history and much more, such as learning control." Suddenly a bright green gleaned over their eyes. "And if you fail you may have to face our law, and no one wants that."
