Summary: Kurama decided that instead of rejecting Pa Toad's fusion, that he might be able to use this as his chance for freedom. His idea... was a very bad idea.

Chapter 1 Stone and History
Story Start!
"Okay... you asshole, what did you hope to accomplish by doing this?"
"I thought you would die, and I would be freed."
"Yeah, yeah I thought that was the case, and it didn't work... now we're both stuck like this for... I don't even know how long." Naruto stated as he sat down and crossed his arms. Naruto, a young man about 166 cm tall with a decently well built body. 16 years old with golden hair that was spiked, and bright blue eyes.
He was inside of his own mind, sitting down on top of the water as he sat before a large cage that held an amazingly huge nine tailed fox creature with glowing red eyes.
The Kyuubi that attacked and nearly destroyed his village on the night of his birth.
Biggest asshole.
World's biggest asshole that decided to screw up his Senjutsu training, by absorbing a ton of nature energy on purpose without informing Naruto. Then when he and Pa toad tried to combine, he released all of the nature energy into Pa and turned Naruto to stone, while turning Pa into a toad statue. Naruto's body in the real world was currently a stone statue at the moment, and it was impossible to tell if the stone transformation would fade away one day, or last forever.
Impossible to tell, because as of yet nobody had ever remained conscious through turning to stone, since he was the first Stone Jinchuriki.
The Kyuubi before him seemed very annoyed by his own choice.
-4 years later-
The moon crashed into Earth.
Hitting the gigantic continent dead center in the middle of it, all life was wiped out and the planet was thrown into a cataclysm unlike any other. The once huge and massive continent was shattered beyond all recognition as the moon was launched back into orbit by the very collision that wiped out all life.
Naruto's statue remained.
Protected by being in the Land of Toads, the waves of fire that washed over him didn't break his enhanced statue form. The of the ocean that washed over his body didn't even budge him from his spoke, his body too heavy to easily lift by even the flood of the ocean.
-3,000,000 years later-
The roar of a dinosaur could be heard.
Small dinosaurs that were hunting insects around Naruto's statued form scattered when they heard the dino roar that echoed through the area. The sky started to turn red, before the earth itself shook once more.
A blast of fire started to wash over the planet.
Somewhere on the planet, a giant meteor hit and sent a wave of flames so intense that it started to wipe out the majority of life on the planet. As the fire washed over Naruto's statue, nothing happened to it. The enhanced statue was much too hard and resistant to be damaged by the flames that tried to incinerate it.
-Inside Naruto's Mind-
"Well... life just got wiped out again."
Naruto could sense everything with the Senjutsu state that he was stuck in, he felt all over the continent that all life had gotten wiped out once more. He groaned in annoyance, since he had been hoping that some of those life forms would develop a way to turn him back to normal. He palmed his face.
"You had hope?"
"I'm not going to lose hope." Naruto deadpanned at the Tailed Beast.
His name was Kurama by the way.
You learned a thing or two when you spent about 3,000,000 years with somebody, give or take a few years. He was stuck as a statue with nobody else to talk to, other than the weird ass crow that would sometimes pop up and fly around the room for awhile, before flying off somewhere else completely.
Kurama was barely conscious as it was.
"You still have hope." Kurama spoke in a deep rumbling voice.
"I still have hope to be free one day." Naruto spoke once more.
"You haven't lost hope after this long?"
"All I have is hope, one day I'll be free of this prison and be able to enjoy a breath of fresh air." Naruto's only desire in the world at the moment was just a breath of fresh air. He and Kurama had been stuck together for millions or years or so, it was hard to keep track at this point. He hadn't breathed fresh air in so long.
His home was gone, but he had mourned them years ago, and as long as he was a stone statue he couldn't even train to pass the time. Well, he could train, but he didn't have access to any new techniques to train with. He couldn't use Ninjutsu that controlled the elements, since he was surrounded by literally no elements. He had long since forgotten most of the handsigns needed to use ninjutsu, and it was only through casual reminders that he remembered some of them.
"-and free the Tailed Beasts sealed in the statue."
"Is that statue even still around?" Naruto remembered the Akatsuki's statue that was used to hold the Tailed Beasts, stolen from their hosts and sealed away. Since there were no Tailed Beasts in the world, that meant that they had all been sealed away at some point. It was impossible to tell where the statue was in the world, or if it even was on the world anymore. If he couldn't sense it in his permanent Sage Mode, then he was pretty sure that it wasn't on THIS continent at the very least.
-MANY Years Later-
"Ooooh... OOOOOH!"
A tribe of people touched Naruto's statue as they put a flower on top of it, and the flower bloomed. They cheered at their discovery, and a few of the stronger men of the tribe grabbed the statue together and started to lift it up. It was too heavy for them to carry it far though, but they put the statue on top of a boulder right outside of their home cave.
-Even More Years Later-
"Ah..."
A more finely dressed man seemed interested as a tribe of savages showed him their prized statue. Several of them were bowing to the statue. They would place a flower in front of it, and the flower would bloom. Whatever fruit seed they planted near the statue would instantly start to grow, as if the statue radiated some powerful energy that allowed it to speed up plant growth.
The savages simply worshipped the statue.
Apparently this tribe of savages had had this statue in their possession for nearly 2 hundred years, a long time to be sure. They wasted the potential of the statue, it had too much potential to allow simple savages to use it to make flowers grow.
His men slaughtered the savages.
They loaded up the statue on their cart before the blood from their spears even dried off, it had been a completely one-sided victory since stone spears could never match their armor and metal weapons.
-150 Years Later-
-Translated Scene-
"Yes my fellow men, this statue has been my families guardian diety for thousands of years... these bountiful harvets are only thanks to our diety! So please come forward for the yearly celebration and kiss the statue, and place your gifts around it!"
His father had told him the story of this statue.
A story that his father's father had passed down to him, about how this statue had their families guardian for as long as they could remember. They had told him that so long as they had the statue, then they would remain the head of their people. That the bountiful harvests would always continue so long as they placed flowers around the statue every year when it was time to collect the harvet.
A long line of people came up.
They would place a flower, kiss the statue, before they moved on and allowed the next person in line to place their offerings to their harvest diety.
-5 Years Later-
Carnage and bloodshed.
Naruto's statue was stained in blood when the last of the people in the community were slaughtered by an invading force that wished to seek the great power of the statue that grew endless food. They took the statue for themselves and loaded it up, they had spent several years studying the ways of the people.
They placed a flower in front of the statue, and it bloomed.
"We are righteous in our conquest, the statue approves!"
The warriors cheered, as their victory was approved by the god of the land. They loaded the statue onto their cart, and after that they took all the crops from the people they slaughtered.
-Inside Naruto's Mind-
"... Seriously, I don't know what is going on out there, but what?" Naruto had no clue what had been going on, he could sense a lot of life forces just got wiped out though. He had no sense of touch or weight to him, so he couldn't tell what was going on, but judging by the way two life forces were on either side of him, he was currently being moved to a new location.
Kurama was unresponsive.
Kurama had been unresponsive for a long time, many years had gone by since Kurama had so much as moved. He was starting to grow thinner, his bones were visible. Naruto knew what that meant, but he didn't know what it was happening. Kurama's chakra was leaving his body at a slow rate, and forming a sphere of chakra outside the seal itself.
Naruto's was currently a stone statue.
The seal that took tiny bits of Kurama's chakra and mixed them with his chakra, well since his body was a stone statue it didn't work. Since Naruto didn't have the key to the seal, he couldn't undo it either. Kurama's chakra was being constantly taken from him, and the longer it happened, the faster it happened.
Currently, his chakra was being taken from him at a rate faster than he was able to regenerate it, and that rate would keep growing. The excess chakra was released from the statue, but a large chunk of the chakra just floated around in a sphere.
Kurama was dying.
He was a being of chakra, eventually his body might reform... but this was the first time that a Tailed Beast would die inside of it's host while the host was still alive. It was impossible to tell if Kurama would come back while Naruto was still alive, or if he would reform inside of the seal itself. Kurama was delaying his own death as much as possible by not wasting any chakra, and focusing on trying to fight the seal.
-A Lot of Fucking Years Later-
"Yes, see this men... just keep praying to the deity, and we will have an endless supply of food."
Sailors.
Naruto was currently on a ship, surrounded by barrels that were filled with soil. The men who had control of his statue this time were using him to make sure that they could grow crops even on their boat.
Apparently, they discovered some people had access to a statue that could make endless food, so they took it for themselves. Well, not that those people could complain since they also stole the statue by slaughtering the people who had it before them.
-In Naruto's Head-
"I'm so lonely."
Kurama was gone.
Kurama had faded away, and even his chakra was gone. He had lost the last thing that connected him to his old life, and after spending who knows how long with him, Naruto felt that he and Kurama had become friends... maybe. He wasn't sure, but he was still lonely now that his only companion in this world was gone.
Other than the annoying crow with the Sharingan eye.
Weird that was inside of him, but he couldn't exactly talk to a crow now could he, and the fact that it had a Sharingan eye was kind of weird on it's own. He didn't even remember where he got the crow from.
"I... I don't remember... I don't remember the guy who put the crow in me." Naruto couldn't remember a bunch of stuff. It had been so long that other than stuff he reminded himself of regularly, he was starting to forget about all the people of his old life. He knew stuff about himself, but he couldn't remember his best friend's name or face, and he couldn't remember very much stuff that didn't involve him.
He was lonely, and he was starting to forget.
The information was in there somewhere, but he couldn't recall it all for some reason. The seal itself was starting to change now that Kurama was gone, the water on the floor was starting to turn into golden clouds, and the walls were getting hazy. Now that his soul didn't need to keep Kurama trapped, his seal was starting to become a manifestation of his soul.
At least, he imagined that was what Kurama would tell him.
"... Endure it Naruto." Naruto spoke to himself.
He was the last Shinobi, he would continue to endure this until the day he was free. He had not forgotten his dream, he had not forgotten how he got his name. He had not forgotten his one desire in this world.
A breath of fresh air.
He needed to endure until the day he was free, so that he could enjoy the breath of freedom once more. Not just for his sake, but for Kurama's sake as well. It was the last gift he could give to Kurama, to be able to gain back his freedom. That way their suffering had not been for nothing.
"I'll never give up hope."
He would never give up.
That was his Nindo.
