Chapter 0- Prologue

Fairy tales don't exist.

"O merciful God of Light, please take pity on your faithful followers and bless us with your strength! We offer thee a blessed child of light, a sacrifice worthy of your name!"

Fairy tales are called as such because they just are just that, fairy tales, a tale of fiction.

"Pray, and rejoice! With the sacrifice of this child we can finally be a step closer to our Lord! Please accept our humble offerings, my Lord! The flesh and soul of this child is yours!"

I would find out very much later about the irony of my situation after I had inevitably massacred the entire village which I was born in, having gone crazy from the pain and torture they subjected me to with that magical ritual of theirs.

I shouldn't have expected that the world of Fairy Tail to be a fairy tale.

"Do you hate them, child?"

It started out as a whisper in my ear as I laid screaming on the altar of sacrifice, the magical ritual slowly consuming me little by little as I was offered up to the God of Light my entire village worshipped.

"W-Who are you?"

"I am the God of Light that you are being sacrificed to."

If it wasn't for the fact that I was too busy screaming out in pain I would have laughed at how hilarious the situation was.

"Do you want strength?"

Of course I do. If I have the strength to protect myself I would not need to be lying down here being consumed in pain and betrayal.

"Do you want them dead?"

Do I want them dead? I wasn't too sure, but I would be lying if I say that I don't hold any resentment towards the villagers who never hesitated to sacrifice an innocent child for their so-called beliefs.

"I… I want to be free."

"And free you shall be. Rise, my vessel, and spread word of my strength across the realms."

All I remembered next was being engulfed in a burst of white light.

When I came to, my entire village was gone and there was me, drenched in the blood of the villagers.
