Departure

Nirl's group had just arrived at Cleppe.

In front of them were more than 1000 soldiers. Half of them, about 500 or 550, were troops sent from villages under Cleppe's area of influence. Each of them had been assigned a place to wait and were mostly guards with little armor. In this, they resembled their group, though generally a little weaker.

This made it all the more difficult to keep up with Cleppe's army.

The rest, between 500 and 600 men, were soldiers of Cleppe, whether they were the troops of the viscountess, the church, or small organizations such as families, merchants,...

Not only was every one of them a veteran, but their equipment couldn't be compared. Not only did they have a uniform of long boots, white trousers, and red and blue tops, as well as a large shield, a sword, and a helmet that must have cost a lot of money, but these emanated power. Put together, the pressure was even greater.

To emanate this kind of power, not only did the weapons have to be first-rate ones, but the uniform had to protect against enemy blows - surely powered by pure energy crystals - not to mention the various defenses they probably had underneath their uniforms.

It really seems like a real and proper army, with soldiers separated in ranks. That was what soldiers really were, and on top of that, these were elite soldiers. Few armies could boast the feat of arming their veterans so well.

At the head of the army sat 8 Knights, 4 from Cleppé, 2 from the church, and 2 from other organizations.

'And to think that this is only a third of the forces of Cleppe.'

...

After a speech by the viscountess, the troops began to march. The only mounted troops belonged to Cleppe and numbered about 50. In addition to that, other horses pulled the wagons in which the equipment had been stored. Nirl had one of these too, which the group stayed in.

The army block they were in was about 1/8 of the army and was under the management of a Knight of Cleppe, Jean. His blond figure led the way while exuding a certain bond. Speaking of link, it was necessary that at least one leader, be it a chief or administrator of the village participates in the war. Nirl being special and with Alain's title of the evolving lord which would allow him - albeit costly - to bring supplies to these men, the choice was quickly made despite his missing arm.

Okay so I erased those chapter ahead because I couldn't advance with them. I upgraded the power level too much, and did not concentrated on what I wanted to story. I saved them though, so if I made the story of some characters I might use them. (17/01/2024)
