Emilie continued to absorb the pure energy she had obtained from her quests. At one point, however, she stopped before finishing it.

Her bracelet had just lit up.

'Bracelet' wasn't perhaps the right word. It was a magic device, a high-level technological tool that allowed her to know when demonic energy was near her. Demonic energy could only be possessed by a demon or a corrupted human.

In either case, if a human encountered one, the only option was to kill it.

Emily watched the changes in her bracelet for 30 seconds, to make sure the enemy was present before she alerted the village. After all, it was rare for a demon to enter a human territory, especially at this border.

''Ding, Dong'' The tocsin sounded.

All the villagers quickly stood up, taking their weapons with them as they light torches.

''Listen to me!'' Alain spoke up, "A demon has surely infiltrated here.''

As he spoke, the villagers became restless, talking amongst themselves. Fighting demonic creatures was one thing, fighting the demonic creatures' masters was another. Children's, all of them heard stories about demons and their powers.

Heartless beings wouldn't hesitate to give up their lives if it meant killing a human. Vicious, they acquired intelligence for the sole purpose of killing humans. Their energies corrupted the soil, wreaked havoc, and even destroyed divine artifacts.

They were monsters that used the face of a human to hide their dark designs. The worst thing that could happen wasn't to die facing them off but be captured. Inside their nests, you would wish to die under their endless torture. But they wouldn't let you off.

''Silence!'' Alain shouted authoritatively, directly calming the crowd. ''Facts are facts and won't change. demons are there so we must fight.''

Alain looked at his notifications.

Soon, the demon found itself trapped within 5 groups that blocked all access within 15 meters of the target.

But they didn't dare to attack. Even alone and wounded a demon was still a demon. They preferred to wait for the village's elites.

They came quickly, accompanied by Alain, Eloise, Emilie, and Louis.

At that moment, Alain raised his hand to stop the massacre.

It was the only ending one would give a demon, no matter his gender, age, or what he believed.

It was right. For they were the enemies of humanity.
