'Wait! Stop there !''

''Why would I? Why shall I tried to help you ?'' she turned around

''Because I wasn't born to be eaten!'' it cried

''Do you really think I care ?'' Both her voice and voice were frightening.

''I don't give a fuck about what you think! I'm just telling you: if you want strength then fucking accept me, or you may also just accuse me right off the bat, and deny your full responsibilities over the matter! I'm not the one who started the curse, nor do you have any chance to take revenge if it continues like this!''

''...'' she calmed herself. ''What do you propose?''

''What I just said: You have something that will allow me to hide and I can make you strong over time!''

Her hand still bleeding, she sat down before asking:

''Who are you, who is chasing you, and how can you make me strong?''

''I am 'Tenebre', one of the 7 legendary artifacts, and you've already felt my power as I have saved you before: I can produce and manipulate demonic energy.''

''You haven't answered all of them yet. Who is chasing you to eat you?''

''...You need to know the legendary artifacts' history to understand this.''

''Make it quick, I don't have much time.''

...

''The epic, legendary, and mythical artifacts are special.

Existing from the beginning, the mythical artifacts were things even the Gods sought for.

Their power was immense, but no one could use them, because they required an enormous amount of energy to function - more than the lives of that time could conceive. The Gods we know now weren't Gods in the past after all.

The only artifacts they could use were the epic artifacts, things that were directly created by the planet, which were always meant to exist, a bit like a DNA code of the planet. Their powers were great but just good enough for them.

So the Gods decided to create the legendary artifacts, inspired by the epic artifacts. But creating an artifact of this strength required an extravagant amount of strength, and they could only create them after becoming Gods.

But they noticed that as Gods, they couldn't handle the mythical artifacts, so they created the artifacts in their own image. And if the epic artifacts have no camp, nor spirit, the legendary artifacts were divided into two camps: Angelic ones and Demonic ones.

The 6 legendary artifacts were created in identical sets. 3 Legendary Artifacts formed a kit, with a power source, armor, and a mace.

The energy source was meant to be added to the artifact that used its energy, so the angelic legendary artifact would go with the angelic mythical artifact. But realizing that the Angels and Demons would have trouble putting them together, or that there might be a problem in the camp itself, they created the armor as a counter-power.

However, these two were too powerful, and so their need to have an inconvenient, as such, the masses were created.

But no one could suspect that the energy sources would gain consciousness inside the mythical artifacts. And that the energy sources would then lost all of their memory if they were ever absorbed another time by their side's mythical artifact, so I and my nemesis switched sides.

Despite my name and energy, I am in the angelic artifact camp, where 'Lumiere' is in the demonic artifact camp.''

''I see...'' The artifact had surely lied many times during her explanation, but she detected nothing. So she had to be even more on guard, as half-truth were even more dangerous than a lie.

''But you only told me about 6 legendary artifacts, not the last one. Also, how could you escape from the Gods? Even if they couldn't use the mythical artifacts they could keep their monopoly.''

''I don't know it all! Just that the Gods can't use artifacts. As for your first question... I don't know much. All I know is that it was created after us, by someone from a third side. 'Sacrifice' is special, and has a conscience too. It could even be called the artifact of the humans since it will be the basis for which the human artifacts will be created.''

''And why did you choose me? If you need angelic energy to hide yourself, couldn't the angels on your side be used?''

''No. Just because I have the same enemy doesn't mean we can really consider ourselves on the same side. Besides, few angels have managed to get corrupted, and hiding under the Fallen Angels would be very risky, especially in these times.''

''Why?''

''Because be it Angels, Demons or humans, everyone is looking for me! I'm a legendary artifact after all! The tension escalating, I need to hide myself more safely than ever.''

''So the world is against you...''

''It's not that risky. No one will expect you to be my holder, and even if that happens, it shouldn't happen until you've become strong enough. On that note, by the way, I can help you control your energies for faster cultivation, explanations, and higher than normal strength with a new type of energy.''

''It's not really discreet to constantly carry a golden stick.''

''Don't worry! I'm Tenebre! Of course, I can hide myself physically! And my energy will be hidden by your special features!''

She tied him to her waist, and he disappeared. However, she felt that he was still there.

''Oh my! What a beautiful sight!'' A voice came from behind.

Recognizing the voice, Emily was shocked. It was a member of the church! And the treasures were still there. Worse: she was probably the person who had placed the runes and the curse.

''Tenebre finally recognized someone!''

The next moment, she fell unconscious.

When she woke up, everything around her would have disappeared, except the artifact. No wanted poster would have been posted against her, even though her hand, bathed in divine energy, had been used to open the secret doors of the church.

But the scene that should have happened was replaced by something completely different.

She found herself in a completely white room, with all the people she had once loved creating themselves out of nothing, and starting to attack her.

But she was no longer the kid she was five years ago. The strength of the attacks was minimal, and she took it upon herself to kill all those illusions.

It wasn't even that much of a test anymore.

The next year of those memories would have been an essential step for her, and for the discovery of her goals, and her philosophy.

And only the present matters. Revenge had become obsolete.

Knowledge: Emilie has many tattoos on her body. Her belly is literally filled with them, proof of her attachment and loyalty to the gang. And despite its destruction, she did not take them off.
